I had a Groupon deal for the platinum package. There's a nice waiting area with wifi which was good, customer service was very friendly and good but I personally was not too impressed with the exterior and interior detailing that was done for the platinum package. I may consider the lower tier packages in the future though. They also charge service or sales tax and removal of dog fur as extra which I thought was weird. Tip: remember to check you got everything back in your car after they are done such as the rubber in your cup holder and floor mats because they forgot to put them back for me. read more

I went here with a Groupon recently. It did take 2 months for me to get in for an appointment here. I think they have limited hours and only do a few cars per day. The location is attached to a gas station, right next to the carwash. I've never seen something like that, but with that knowledge, was easy to locate. It was going to take about 2 hours for the car to be cleaned. Nearby there are a lot of shops, and restaurants to wait. In 6 years of owning my car, I have never had it detailed. My car turned out looking so fresh and so clean! I think the young men here did a great job on my car. One thing to note, don't plan on driving your car the rest of the day. It needs to dry, so bring a towel or plastic bag to sit on to drive home! Tips are welcomed. read more

My wife dropped my truck 10:45am and returned at 12:00pm surprised that it was done. Purchased the platinum package and it looked like a $20 car wash. Windows smudged, armor all smeared everywhere inside! Didn't steam clean the engine! No attention to detail! Then I look in the back seat and the leather in one spot is now all stretched out! Pro's - great job on upholstery shampoo, and clean - Decent job on cleaning dashboard, and plastics (with the exception of some ArmorAall residue left behind) - Exterior looked shiny, and clean for the most part. - Detailed in a timely fashion, very easy drop of and pick up. Con's - We notice small scratches, and chips that were not there before the detail. (especially one on driver side that is extremely noticeable, and deep) Additionally - the counter man asked if we wanted to tip, which then we refused as we had yet to see any results. After we went out and looked, and worker came out and asked how it looked, at this time we brought the scratches to his attention, and he picked at it saying it's too deep to remove.... - There was still dirt, and salt left on a couple of the panels towards the bottom, places where it could have easily been cleaned. Overall, I would not recommend this place. I could have done a better job myself for a fraction of the price. The only thing we got out of the GOLD deal was shampoo'd upholstery, the rest was a joke. They did a great job shampooing the carpet. The outside absolutely sparkles. I will garage for the winter but I am so going to look forward to having this car clean and shiny next April or May. BEWARE - DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE THERE FOR DETAILING! I left my vehicle in their parking lot and when I went to pick up my vehicle I had body damage to my vehicle. When I addressed it with the Manager, Bill he said...yea, I noticed that damage when your vehicle was brought into the garage. I was going to have them buff it out, but then I thought I should leave it. When I asked for the owners information, Bill gave me owner John's phone information and when I called, Bill had already reached out to him and owner John said, it is your word against ours and you are not going to file a claim with our insurance because that will raise our rates. I was very upset, called the police and was asked if there were cameras in the lot. I drove back and looked and of course there are none. Unfortunately, for me I cannot file a police report, I was not given any insurance information and owner John was extreemly rude and refused to even consider any liability. When I got home and looked closer at the detailing work they did, it was not what it was supposed to be. USE EXTREEM CAUTION WHEN DECIDING TO LEAVE YOU VEHICLE IN THEIR LOT. My car was about as bad as it gets - dog hair, mud, salt, etc. I am also a dad so you can add in spilled yogurt, spilled coffee, spilled milk. If you could spill it, we did. I went to Midwest Detailing upon the recommendation of a friend from the dog park. While Midwest did add a slight upcharge for dog hair, they warned me about it beforehand - no surprises. The overall value was amazing. The customer service was great (Bill). My subaru looks like (and more amazingly) smells like a new car. BEYOND TERRIBLE. In April 2015, I bought a Groupon for auto detailing. You're not able to schedule online, so the ONLY way to make an appointment is to call them. They NEVER (I repeat, NEVER) answer their phone. I called 4 times starting in May, leaving nice and detailed messages. They NEVER called back. So today, after making 4 attempts and giving up, I called Groupon to complain and get a refund. They indicated "there were other complaints." I think this is a SCAM. They sell a zillion Groupon and Living Social deals, then just never respond, never have to do the work, and pocket the money. Based on the reviews of their work on this site, they do crappy work anyway. I lodged a complaint against them on the Better Business Bureau website. THEN I got them to reach out to me, with them HARASSING me repeatedly via text message. These guys are scum. Don't waste your time and money. read more

DO NOT HAVE YOUR CAR DETAILED HERE! You'll regret it, just as I regret it. I should've listened to the Yelp reviews - they're spot on. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER RECEIVED. Damaged part of my car and won't pay for it. Lesson learned. In August 2014, I purchased a Groupon for Midwest Detailing and Auto Reconditioning and made an appointment for the following month. On September 29, 2014, I dropped off my car for an appointment on September 30. After picking up my car on September 30, I inspected my car and realized they broke the spray nozzle that connects to my windshield wiper fluid hose, and I'm currently unable to wash my windows. This may sound trivial, but the horrible customer service I received coupled with the fact that they won't return my call or pay for the repair to the damage they caused is why I'm reporting this business. The following is a detailed description of the events that took place with this "business," the terrible "customer service" I received, and the problem with my vehicle after their service. When I dropped my car off the day before my scheduled appointment, I was told to leave a note with my keys saying what time I'd be back to pick up my car the next day; I wrote 5:30 pm. When I called the next day to check in on my car, I said I'd be there at 5:30 pm to pick up my car and was told that wouldn't be a problem (I was told their business hours are 8-6 p.m.). I received a call the day of service at 4:45 pm from their workers saying they were leaving for the day and were leaving my car keys with the gas station next door. I asked them not to leave, as I was uncomfortable leaving my keys at a random gas station when I didn't know them. I was told to call their owner and that they were still leaving for the day, even though I specifically said I was coming in at 5:30 and their shop closes at 6. When speaking to the owner, John Carlson, I asked him to not leave my keys with the gas station and that I'd be there very soon. He said it was fine, the gas station is trustworthy and that sometimes his guys just "leave early." I told him that may be the case, but my business wasn't with the gas station. I let the owner know I'd like to go over my car with someone there in case I had questions and that I was uncomfortable with my keys being left somewhere else as that is my personal property. He proceeded to yell at me, saying I was untrustworthy of them, I was a horrible customer and they were still leaving my keys at the gas station. He kept saying "You're the only person who has ever had a problem with this!" I calmly asked him to not raise his voice at me and to treat me with the respect a customer deserves. I also let him know he never made me aware that my keys would be left at the gas station if the workers would leave early, and if he had, I would have made sure to come even earlier to get my car to make sure someone was there. He then said in a very sarcastic and extremely rude manor, "Well then from now on I'll make sure to tell everyone that I'll leave their keys at the gas station because Bridget said so. You can just grab your keys from them and get on with your life!" He yelled "You're just going to try to find something wrong with your car, I know it!" I realized the conversation was going nowhere and I wasn't going to sit on the phone while someone I just paid to detail my car was screaming at me. I thanked him and let him know I will never return there again. When I picked up my car, I gave it a very detailed inspection and discovered they had broken the plastic nozzle that connects my windshield spray hose to the spray nozzle on my passenger's side. I then left a detailed voice message with the owner of Midwest Detailing letting him know what they broke and that I'd be reporting him to the Better Business Bureau. He did not return my call. I've never been so insulted in my life and will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SCAM of a business to anyone. I work in the customer service industry - I've seen plenty of bad customer experiences but I've never received such poor customer service. They finished my car in about two hours and I picked it up and went to work. After spending some time looking around it had looked like all they focused on was the carpets, dashboard, and steering wheel. They didn't "detail" clean anything and there were still crumbs and dirt in my cup holders and compartments on my center console. On top of this, whoever was the one that cleaned out my car had also completely soaked my garage door opener with whatever cleaning product they had used and it doesn't work anymore. I called the owner that day and he said he was sorry and I could bring in my vehicle whenever I could to have it done right so I dropped it off the next day and it didn't look much better after they re-did it. After this I got a full refund for the "service" they provided and I am still trying to talk to them about ruining my garage door opener. I would not recommend going here. read more

Got the LivingSocial Silver Package and of course neglected to look this up on Yelp! before scheduling. Big mistake. After so many repeated attempts at scheduling and playing voicemail tag for about four weeks, and finally succeeding talking to the guy only to schedule an appointment for 30 days later (yes, I still had to wait one another month), you would think God was trying to tell me something. I should have listened. They seemed terribly overbooked when I wheeled in, guys in sloppy overalls running around red-faced and mad everywhere. Didn't write down any of the concerns I voiced, and was pretty much rushed out being told it would take anywhere from 2-3 hours (I was booked for a two hour slot). Concerned, I sauntered by the shop 2.5 hours later and it looked as though they had just started on it...sigh. 30 minutes later they texted the car was done. Inside it looked as if they didn't even wash the dash and console first, merely wiped it quick with ArmorAll. All of the dust that was there smeared in long streaks and was drying in ugly waxy blotches. Yuck! My once smooth dash was now a lumpy, uneven mess. The clean-shampoo smell was nice but a little overwhelming, and to my surprise they did attend to the two trouble spots I had mentioned--but at the expense of leaving the back seats virtually untouched, as two easily-removed stains were still visible. The only other thing I really wanted done was the inside slats of the air vents, where dust always accumulates. Those were still thick with dust (come on, all it takes is a Q-Tip). Dust, dust, dust! Sorry, but a quick ArmorAll job just doesn't cut it. For the kicker, as I was moving to leave (without tipping) one dude says, "Oh, there's a $3 service charge beyond the LivingSocial deal. And whatever you'd like to give the detailer..." Yes, I got hustled even after getting a crap job! I get the distinct feeling the detailers "charge" an extra fee when they feel they aren't going to get t a tip... The other kicker was I saw that have posted prices for their various packages on their service door...and their printed price for my LivingSocial "deal package" was the same! I don't think the LivingSocial deal is actually a deal, it looks like they just use Groupon and LivingSocial for free advertising. read more

The issues I had was a poor wax quality that washes off in no time, the guy left a film on my windshield that made it hard to see out of and broke my rear door lock mechanism so that the passenger can't open the door, (child lock). Basically I paid 99.00 for a ten dollar car wash at any gas station. I can't believe a great neighborhood like Highland Park has a business like this!! The detailer told me I could bring it back (after he has kept my car half the day) and he could do a "better job. I planned on giving him a 50.00 tip instead he got 3.00 and that was only because he pissed me off enough that I didn't want to stay for the other 5 minutes for him to get my change. Also- it takes weeks to make an appointment, yet they still take walk ins so your car isn't done on time. Then they forget to call you when the car is done and blame it on the customer, "I called and left a message." They never called. I had my phone with me and ON. My mom has terminal cancer. I don't skip a call, trust me. This is a complete waste of money- you are better off going to the Perfect 10 car wash in Minneapolis. Purchased a living social coupon for a platinum wash. Called twice and didn't return my call until two weeks later. By this time I already requested a refund from living social. They offered me the same price to do the detail (of-course they just bypassed the living social's cut). When i went to pick up the vehicle, I could see bug spots on the vehicle. I asked and they said they were not able to take it off. I used a paper towel and it came off easily. I could have achieved the same result by running the vehicle through a regular car was for $7. This was hands down the worst detail I've ever experienced. I would consider my car well above average in the clean department and they took many shortcuts. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle I was walked around my the exterior to go over what was done. I pointed out bug stains and dust/dirt smudges that I was rubbing off with my hand. He grabbed a rag and rubbed out what I pointed out. When I opened the door to look at the interior he asked if I paid the tax already. I stated no and he informed me I owed $6. I gave him $10 and he asked me if I needed change... I replied yes and I got the feeling he was pushing me out before we went over the interior. At this point he marched over and grabbed my four ones and didn't say a word when giving me change. No have a good day, so disappointed I walked away to my car. Now is when it gets interesting... As I walk back to my car, I hear screaming and swearing back in the garage. I then realize he's screaming about me not tipping and I hear insults directed at me. I then turn around and ask if he's directing this at me and he walks around behind one of the cars. I stood appalled for a minute at how this whole experience went down. I contacted Groupon and they were as appalled as me when hearing of this experience. Also, the interior was mediocre at best, only addressing all the very noticeable areas, still leaving dirt smudges on my door panels, shoddy vacuuming and many miswed spots. Supposed to include a trunk shampoo and definitely doesn't look done nor did they get the trunk vacuumed well and actually missed a few areas! I spent 15 minutes there using their vacuum to finish the trunk. Looked at the interior, overall good vacuum but when you start looking at the difficult areas to reach like between the seat and center console, when you open the door and look down by the seat adjustments and infront of the seats on the floors, not done. Wiped down center console but didn't clean out the cup holders, ect. I was going to call the manager but one of his employees called him because "they had other cars". The manager was not what I would call helpful to try and immediately solve the issue. He acknowledged I wasn't satisfied and had the employee do the vacuuming but wanted me to come back at a later time "because they have other vehicles". You know it's sad when they have a 63% satisfaction rate on a special. Two stars because what they did do without missing looked nice. However, I will not be going back at all. read more

I read the Yelp reviews for this business after purchasing a Groupon, and was very nervous to go. However, I had a really great experience! I purchased the "silver" package and could not be more pleased with the result. There was not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere that I could tell. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it took months to get an appointment, and the appointment lasted an hour an a half, which seemed long. I don't understand these people below with bad experiences. I go here regularly to get my car detailed and I love this place! It's hidden and tucked away behind Arby's and Enterprise, you would never see this place from the street. The store manager has developed a close one on one relationship with me and always schedules another appointment for me to come in with no hassle. About a year a ago the guy answering the phone changes and the response time is much better. I hear back within a day (as long as I leave a message) lol. As true detail shop each time I come in they do better and better. For the amount I pay, it's a steal to get my car done! The shampoo smells go good, some sweet fruity smell, and everything is so sparkly! I just can't say enough of this place. My dashboard looks incredible and I notice curves in it that I hadn't seen before. I even had parked my car under a tree that dropped sap all over it and I was amazed at how well they got it all up with ruining the paint. You won't get that from some generic car cleaner. Very sloppy and incomplete job detailing my car. I purchased a package through living social and shouldn't have bothered. When I picked the car up there were pools of armor all in many places and also big gaps that had not been touched at all. There were also places where they had just applied a coat of armor all over a spot of grunge (yes, I have kids which is why I need my car detailed). They also completely forgot to clean the inside of my windows and the back seat still has visible dirt. I do a better job of detailing my car on the street in front of my house! Biggest scam out there! Is zero stars possible?! When scheduling prior to purchasing a Groupon I was told not to buy the Groupon (workaround so they don't have to pay Groupon their cut). When I reviewed it and politely addressed my dissatisfaction the gent ran and got a rag while telling me some BS that OSHA doesn't allow them to utilize a magic eraser! Lol Then he went and got the owner when I said I was going to out them on social media. The owner John proceeded to back peddle and fast talk repeating how he has done over 14k details. You mean scammed 14k people buddy! Guess there are plenty of people in the metro to scam before you finally go out of business and start-up under a new name! He then realized I am no idiot and grabbed another worker and said he was "new" and apologized how this new employee was the reason for the beyond crappy job. BS...Total new guy scam as well. The owner got lots of areas clean as he scrambled to prove his worth ironically that the first guy claimed were perm stains so he finally said free of charge. I confronted him about his employee lying about OSHA etc and perm stains and he said his employee would never say that! Lol No way I was paying a dime for a 25% at best detail job! This place is a scam without Groupon pricing! Buyer beware...Just go to your local Paradise carwash and have them wipe down and vac your vehicle for $14.99 as that is about the same as this fraudulent "detail" company.
