Wow, I am super impressed with this car wash! If you are looking for a great car wash spot, especially one that offers a great interior cleaning, this is the best value in the entire Twin Cities! I got the "car spa" interior service and then a normal exterior wash. The exterior wash was fine, a bit better than other auto car washes, but just a bit better. However, the interior cleaning was amazing, especially for $60ish. Sure, you can probably get a slightly better deep cleaning at a detailing service, but that will cost you $200 or more. For $60, they vacuumed everywhere, cleaned all of the seats and dashes, and made the floor mats look spotless. It was a complete transformation. And it all only took about 45 minutes (there's a great coffee shop a couple blocks away, look at my reviews for info about that while you wait). Wow! My car feels brand new inside and out! I have an energetic border collie and needed a professional cleaning job for muddy paw prints and nose smeared windows. To be honest, the front was also a mess. Best advice is to totally empty the car and let the friendly and professional crew do the rest in about forty five minutes. Overall good - my only complaint is that my driver's side window got scratched/scuffed at some point during the wash. Not deep but still, once you notice it you can never not! This being a new car and Soapy Joe's being my first wash for it it's unlikely it happened before. Still, for the value and the rest of the service, it's a pretty good deal. There is no ATM and they are not able to charge a credit card extra and give you cash back* *The undercarriage water blast ended up messing with my accelerator and I now need to take my car into the shop to have the issue resolved. Apparently this is extremely common (per my mechanic) with high pressure water under the car. I talked with the Soapy Joe's staff, he may have been a manager, and he said there's nothing they could do but that he doesn't encounter that issue very often. There's a sign out front releasing them of any liability. I feel like I can't be too upset, I opted for the under-car clean to get the winter's-caked on grime out of there. Apparently there's such a thing as too much pressure. Now I know..* This was my first time here and I am extremely impressed by the quality of service I received. I mean my car SPARKLES and there were about 3-4 different people who participated in the cleaning process. They have a system down and they are very good at it. I got the most common wash for like $35, which included them power washing my winter mats. Very reasonable price given the quality of cleaning they provided. It's a time commitment on a weekend. Long lines, long wait time in the lobby. I was there, start to finish, well over an hour. The lobby is minimal, bare bones but there is free coffee and a few vending machines. I mean It's a car wash, as to be expected. I subtracted 1 star because there could be a little more communication about what to do, when to leave your car and where to walk to find the lobby. It's hard to explain WHY this is a little confusing, but it is. It's a wonky process. Suggestion: a sign out front for the cars in line about current wait times would be super helpful. I drove almost 30 mins to get a detail clean only to find out interior services are not offered, not even a vacuum. I hate to give this place two stars, but I think that is the only way the message will get across. I would've given 4 if it wasn't for the rear cup holders being completely untouched and filthy. This is the second time I've been here where they didn't even bother to wipe the dirty foot prints off the back of my passenger seat. I've had to ask them to do so, after the fact, twice now. They also didn't even bother to wipe down the inside of any of the doors, or door jams as advertised; I had to ask them to do so after they "finished." For $30 and a tip they should be paying a little bit closer attention to interior detail. The fact that cleaning of the door jams and cup holders is listed as part of the service is even more frustrating. They did do a nice job on the front instrument cluster, front center console and windows. The exterior is nice (probably because it was done by a machine), but they didn't bother to wipe off the wheels afterward. If they did, it sure wasn't a good job. Now I have to spend my time cleaning up what they missed. I would like to come back, but I suppose they need to be instructed next time on exactly what the job entails. read more

my credit card was hacked. I have an automatic payment on my credit card. on the day my credit card was charged. there were unauthorized charges made to my card shortly thereafter. I did not realize this until I was notified by the fraud department of my credit card. Using a credit card at this business is not secure. read more

This is the only car wash I like going to in the twin cities. I prefer drive through car washes so for me it's perfect. They're all so nice there. The last time I went i had a lot of bugs on my car from driving up north. initially i asked for just a basic and she was very upfront with me that it wouldn't get the bugs off and she didn't want me to leave disappointed. I like she took the time to make sure I got the best service. It's also a pretty good value too. Not sure why it's so hard to find a really good car wash in The Cities. I was surprised that for $20, they only do the outside. It is literally a drive through car wash and they sort of "dry" it at the end. My wheels were still dirty afterwards. Don't get me wrong, they're super nice people and I'm sure they have bills to pay, but so do I. For what they do, I would have been better off saving a few dollars and driving through the gas station tunnel. read more

I come back today just to talk with a manager about how job was not done and I asked it nicely but not even sorry or apology . For 25$ Car wash I was expected little more then just basic. I should look inside before I gave 5$ tips to the guy who did not even vacuum and dust was not clean at all. They cleaned all seasons matts what was not realy dirty that was nice and polish mirrors . My car is a brand new ..was needed just a little bit of refreshment what I can do by myself but I had 13 hours long shift and decided to take a chance ... Plus at the evening it was rain, after they washed a car.. So would not bother again with going there and bringing my business to this place . Customer service was alright untill I point that job was not done . Then manager got rude. Thank you for listening ... This place was highly recommended from my girlfriend. So I stopped on Friday and got the "Joe's Ultimate Wash" with the upgrade to the "full service wash" which included: "interior floor carpet vacuum, wipe top of dash, floor mats and window cleaning." Staff was very friendly and professional. Process took about 30 minutes on a non-busy day. So far so good. Outside looked good, rims looked pretty good. Get it to find the dash not even touched. Inside of front and back windows seemingly untouched. Interior smelled clean and the carpets were vacuumed nicely, but there was supposed to be more. The dash is the first thing seen from a customer, therefore they should have at the very least made a half-assed attempt. For $25, I'll stick to doing it myself. My car looks brand spanking new. I got the "super wash" which is the mid level wash that includes exterior and interior. (They have three different "levels" of washes, ultimate, super, and the basic). You pay right away when they direct you intro the washing bay. I was sent on my way through the "tunnel of bubbles" (which is awesome by the way - have your Snapchat ready if you're into that kind of thing). They then direct you over to the detailing station if you are getting the interior clean, and you get out of your car and hang out in the lounge - which has free coffee! The detailing took 15-20 minutes (I'm horrible with time so I'm not sure exactly how long) but they did an amazing job. I'm serious my car looks brand new. They didn't even cast judgement upon my 4 month old Tupperware containing what I think at one time was sweet potatoes that I had lost in the abyss under my seat. I apologized and they said, don't worry we've seen MUCH worse! I would allow yourself about 30 minutes total here, more if it's busy. I will be back, and I will be getting the monthly membership. This is seriously worth every penny. read more

This car wash makes you rethink using your local gas station for a quick car wash. Every time I leave this place, I ask myself why I don't use it more! Fast, Friendly and F-enominal! I have had the Full Ultimate Wash ($30, inside and outside clean) as well as the Super Wash ($13, exterior only) at Soapy Joe's. The Ultimate Wash is something I like to use after a long hard winter. Once your car goes through the automatic wash, it's taken into another area where they fully clean in the inside. Takes another solid 10 minutes or so, depending how busy they are. They spray and wash the mats, vacuum the inside, wipe down the windows and dash, etc. The one complaint my wife had on this most recent trip is that the salt stains from winter did not come out of the carpet by our feet like she had hoped. You can also see that the rear view mirrors are not fully cleaned. Minor gripes, but when they are really busy on weekends and trying to go fast, some of these things are not 100%. That's the only reason I am not giving 5 stars. The Super Wash (exterior only) is great during winters to get all of that salt and grime off. It's only a couple dollars more than the full service wash you'd get at a gas station, but you cannot compare the two. My car always still looks shiny a week after the wash, in winter. The place itself sits on a small lot along W. 7th in St. Paul. Very convenient to get to, but on a busy day, it gets backed up with cars and there's not a ton of space to maneuver. But they make due and maximize every inch of space. The workers there are great: friendly and professional! If you decide to have the inside of your car cleaned, there is a waiting area inside the building that is family friendly, with a variety of seating options, and popcorn! Lastly, I'll add this: A friend was recently looking for recommendations for a good car wash on Facebook, and I mentioned Soapy Joe's. She came from Richfield and thanked me for recommending it. Hi everyone I was a member since the business open on the location at camino del Rio and Fairmont Avenue, I just cancel my membership, because Monday 8/22/22 I take my car to get it wash and they always have 3 guys just standing there to look for anything they can cause a problem, on my car I have a bike rack, I have it have it since the first day when I sing in my membership,and they always have a person on the computer before you enter to the tunel and on the computer they do have the option to remove the back brush and that way nothing happens to the bike rack,but this day nobody was paying attention and they forgot to remove the back brush from the computer and unfortunately they damage my bike rack,at this point corporate send me a email saying they don't have to pay for for this damage because they it's not they responsibility the this happens, they told me was my fault for not removing the bike rack,I don't think this is fair because was they fault for not typing on the computer to remove the back brush,at this point I have to replace the bike rack by myself, buy I want to leave this coment here so you guys know this company it's not the way they try to aparent they are,they don't care about the costumer they only want the money,and if something happens to your car this is the reality,they just going to told you it's not something the we do cover,becarful out there,soapy joes DONT TREAT THE CUSTOMERS RIGHT THEY DONT CARE ABOUT US . read more
