I thought this was a good urgent care place to go when I went twice this year. The first time I was charged $5 for my copay that's it. Now, for my second time (02/03) they made a whole deal about their system not wanting to take my insurance. Mind you, my insurance for 2026 was already on file cause I had already come the month prior. The lady ends up saying "oh why don't you pay out of pocket the $200+ and then submit a claim." Which is ridiculous because why should I have to go through this extra work when it's their system and they clearly know my insurance is valid from my previous visit. Now I am getting billed multiples of times and I just got reached out to AGAIN in APRIL! For another $1! After already paying three other times! This is ridiculous and such a scam. 0 stars. Amelia (the owner) if you think replying to these reviews with a link to the patient advocate form is helpful it is not. Give people their money back on these ridiculous charges. First off, you can't talk to anyone by phone and you cannot email the clinic. All you can do is make appointments online. The portal affords you no options to reach a staff member or comment on your experience. I called three times. Music plays and I wait and wait. I finally gave up. This clinic listed physical problems on my report that I do not have. I have depression-----that is NOT anxiety. Also, my transcript shows me as having "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. (?) HUH??? Where did that come from? That's a first. I was never diagnosed with that. I came here for a simple, straightforward procedure and I got roped into bloodwork and a full blown exam! I've never had such a lovely experience at an urgent care facility (to the point that I'm writing a review because it was that good!). First, the woman at the front desk was extremely kind and answered all my questions. I arrived at 6:30pm and after filling out paperwork, seeing the nurse, having an xray taken, seeing the PA to review the xray, seeing the nurse again for a pain injection, and getting my discharge papers to leave, it was 7:40pm! They were so efficient it was mind blowing. Feride was so kind and talked me through everything and the PA Benjamin was also super thorough and had really calming energy. Overall, no one leaves a review for an urgent care unless it's awful service or incredible lol. Everyone at Midwest express clinic was amazing. The only thing I'm upset about is that I didn't get the girls name at the front desk to shout her out too. If I'm in need of an urgent care again I'll definitely be returning here. 5 stars for everyone who works there! read more

PA gave me a horrible diagnosis based on her reading of a report. This is not the PA's job. She had me horribly upset believing that I had a very contageous and dangerous disease. She didn't follow through withggetting me the actual doctors findings. So for two days I was depressed and didn't go near any other people for fear of making them sick. After many phone calls and promises of them sending me the report, that was never sent when promised. I made a final phone call and the report was emailed to me. The result was THER IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME. The PA. J. SEEGICHETLA, needs to realize she is not a doctor and not make diagosis. I hope she doesn't do this to others. Midwest Express charged me $180 for a COVID test. This is a totally abusive and extreme price when COVID tests can be purchased at a pharmacy for roughly $20. I go for the lipo shots and for some reason they think it's ok to keep the door open while the administer it. It doesn't matter if I have to lift my shirt or not. Then if the results do not agree with complaint the patient presents, perhaps discuss it with the patient before calling the police. By Sunday afternoon and 4 phone calls to the clinic later my prescription had still not been called into the pharmacy. I spent the weekend with a high fever feeling horrible. We visited Midwest Express Clinic on Broadway Chicago because my daughter has an ear infection and her ear is oozing. After paying $140 to see a nurse practioner, she wrote us a prescription for a 5ml bottle of ear drops with instructions to use 10 drops every am and pm for TEN DAYS. YET, 5ml of ear drops lasts ONE-TWO days and my daughter is still sick. When I called for the clinic to refill the prescription, the receptionist and provider explained that we had to come BACK in (it's been 1.5 days since we were there!) and PAY another $40 to get the refill. Never go there, I was there on a with waiting on my parent and she asked me to see if they take my insurance to do a blood test, I asked do you take my insurance and told them if you don't I do not want or need a blood test, they said they take it, after a year they send me a bill of $200, and were about to send it to collection, i paid it off never received a receipt now after a full year they send me another bill for the same test that i have done for $60.03 I called to know why since i paid the $200 they never explained why is that but they will revise and do adjustment and the manger will give me a call, after a month i receive a new bill for $165. Do NOT I repeat do NOT put yourself through going to this urgent care. There are so many in the city. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Irresponsible, rude, dirty and horrible. So I went in this hell hole in terrible uterus pain. Stabbing and awful: I asked the doctor to run every test possible to try and figure out why and find the solution. The visit itself was not great. Again I can find a million better urgent cares however it was what happened after that was completely unprofessional and harmful. So after running all these tests and not getting help much for the pain I saw my gyno. I didn't hear anything at all from the clinic about my tests so I assumed no news is good news. But I wanted my test results for my gyno see. I called and asked please how can I access MY tests. A woman with a slight accent said to me that they do not let me have any of my test results and I have to come back in and make another appointment to get them. She continued by saying there are many abnormalities in your results. Worried I said that I had blood work and std panel and this pretty rude woman then said yeah you have abnormal results in both. I asked please you can't just tell me that my tests show something is wrong and leave it like that. But she said well you have to come in to the doctor if you want to know. I got off the phone and sobbed. I mean who does that? Says yes you have abnormalities in your tests but you don't get to know what's wrong. So I called my gyno crying saying they told me something is wrong with my bloodwork AND my std panel but they won't let me have my results. Keep in mind this woman I dealt with AFTER calling and getting purposefully hung up on by another employee who was so incredibly rude she actually hung up on a patient purposefully. Finally I reached a nice person but after hours of calls and holds of at least 30 mins. THIS woman gave me access to the portal and sent over my test results. My fucking std you ask? It was a yeast infection and uti. My bloodwork abnormality? A slightly elevated red blood count which is actually not a bad thing. So I had NO std and my bloodwork was perfectly fine. I called back trying to get these two women's names and I got put on hold an hour and then when I called back again no one would answer the phone during business hours and I received their call center after hours person who said it's the business day and they should pick up? She also was confused. I have never been treated so poorly as a patient anywhere. EVER. Who tells someone that their bloodwork is indicating health issues but won't let me access my tests . I have never ever been treated so poorly in my life. Calls are recorded so I will not stop till I get management to listen to these conversations. But both women that didn't help but actually hurt me should not be working there. The center itself also is pretty dirty and gross but I had just a hateful rude person who was completely inexcusably unprofessional. Two of them actually. Please hear me. There are so many urgent cares. Do not put your health into this clinics hands. Go to a non Midwest clinic. Please. Please. I'd hate for anyone else to be treated this way. There was no one in the waiting room but it still took a minute to get taken back. Then when I got taken back the nurse or tech asking the questions and swabbing me did not wear gloves once or wash her hands. She even accidentally dropped something into the trash and picked it back out to use again. Very unsanitary especially when everyone coming in here is sick. I called to ask if they could provide me with a service. I was assured they were able. I registered, talked to the front desk, explained again, waited, met the intake nurse, she took my vitals while I went over my reason for visit again. Finally the provider comes in to tell me that they can't prescribe a controlled substance. Which is whatever, company policy. I get it. But they had THREE chances to let me know before I saw the doctor. I asked said provider to double check the policy and when she came back, she said she could write me a 1-week "holdover" script. I declined and as I left I was told I would be getting a refund for the office visit. Now they're saying that the provider's compromise counts as an "assessment" and refusing to refund me the $125. This clinic has no idea what they are doing or their own policies. If you have an issue, they'll farm it out to their corporate "customer advocacy" line that they don't even know the hours of operation for. read more

Nikki, the supervisor was extremely rude and unprofessional after my insurance company advised I call back and inquire about the incorrect codes that were used. They were not upfront and honest about all the charges they tacked on. Nikki and her colleague Kim did not know how to help and could not connect me to anyone that could. This combined with her rude and unprofessional demeanor will prohibit us from ever returning to Midwest Express. read more

I have been here 3 times in the last month and a half. The first time, I came in desperately because I was so sick and needed help. Prior to coming, I Went to the NW clinic and they didn't help at ALL. The NP I saw was so kind and made sure I came back if my ear was still bothering me. I did end up having to come back and the second NP listened to my concerns ans helped me out. I also work in healthcare and it's so nice to see people doing what's best for patients. They billed me as a sickness visit for preventative care. I called many times to ask why they would charge it as an urgent care visit when I spent 10 min there and only got a vaccine. No help. They do not care about their patients. Front desk staff is worthless. They need competent people to overhaul the whole operation. You will be billed for things you did not receive. Good luck. I had a good experience at Midwest Express Clinic. I came in for a sprained ankle and they were able to see me, get an x-ray, diagnose me, and send me on my way in less than 45 min. By the standard of urgent care clinics, that's pretty good. The one downside is that I had to call to get my itemized receipt & lab results sent to me two days after my visit. Would have liked to get that information without having to prompt them, but overall that's the one blemish on what was a good experience. read more

I visited the clinic on Chicago in River North. This clinic doesn't even deserve 1 star. I went in for pain in my side. I received my results only after I called for them, I asked that I speak to the doctor to discuss my results since the results I received showed that I shouldn't be on the medication they placed me on. They refused to let me speak to a medical professional and told me I need to come back in and pay again just to discuss my results! If you want to be ripped off come here. Absolutely insane. Suggestion: Do Not Go if you want efficient, polite, organized, helpful check-in. I checked in on the app last night for "a place in line" . When I arrived early at 8:00 a.m. the woman at the desk took my card, license and I filled out the necessary paperwork. I mentioned I checked in the previous night and she said there was nothing showing up. Although, she did say that happens. To me, that is unacceptable. I received a confirmation email last night that my request went through. Then, she entered my insurance info and said it is showing you are not a member. WOW! I won't even mention how long I've had that insurance. She said "call your insurance." So, I did that, and, the internet connection there is not good. My insurance said.."of course you are a member"..and asked "can i speak to the woman?". She, ignored me. At that point she was taking all the walk-ins...and, gestures "just a minute"...She could not complete taking in one patient (me)...I told her I would self pay". I have been struggling with getting some services rebilled. The clinic takes my insurance but not the DOCTOR on duty that day. It is November. This has been going on since June and August. After being told it would be rebilled, and then being "under review" for over a month I left a two star review here. Walked in because I was feeling sick. Received quick and good medical service and staff that day was very friendly. However, they billed my insurance as an annual checkup, which it wasn't. Since they didn't inform me it was an annual checkup, I went to my regular annual checkup two months later, leading to a huge bill since my insurance only covers one checkup per year. Called to see if they were willing to change the way the claim was processed and they were completely unwilling to and not understanding at all. I couldn't get my x-ray done on Sunday so I tried calling again first thing Monday morning and was told by someone else there that they did have a tech available right then and could see me right away. I had the best experience here with Kirsten and Joanne as well as with the check in. I had trauma to my pinky and came here immediately as it was the closest urgent care to where I was. Five stars for patient experience. Zero stars for billing. They charged for (while not disclosing) an office visit to receive a test result. That result could have been emailed or communicated via a phone call rather than a video call. To be clear, my insurance paid for the visit and the test, and the second "visit" for the results. I paid my co-pay for the actual office visit. And to be clear/fair, there was no issue with my in office visit; they were great. When I called their Billing Department upon receiving a bill for the second co-pay, they confirmed that my insurance paid for the "visit" to communicate my test result and that as a courtesy my co-pay for receiving the result would be removed. Yesterday I received a notice from a collection agency for it. Summary: I had a covid test here and received my results within 48-hours. The staff were professional and on time. I appreciate all that. But they (a) didn't disclose that getting my results was a second billing, nor did they (b) honor the waiving of the second co-pay. Unacceptable. read more

A great place to go for medical care. The staff there are really really compassionate, caring & professional. They answered every question I had with ease and with more than adequate information. They were prompt & swift. I got in and out during my covid test. I usually NEVER leave reviews for any place unless I've had food to die for lmao. So if it wasn't for the awesome superhero & saving grace that is Stannetta/Stanneda(I'm unsure of how to spell her name so I apologize in advance) I wouldn't have written one. (Shes a Black woman who works there.) I'm a fairly busy guy & travel a lot as a freelance strategist so I don't have a primary care home but am considering this place after today. Thank you all. Lack of transparency with Dr. Joanna Giza. The purpose of my visit was for a urine test. I asked Dr. Giza if I could get the result over the phone and was told I had to come in the clinic for a follow up visit in order to get my result, because they don't give results over the phone. VERY impressed with the care and service I received at Midwest Express! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Lewis. I went in for a Covid test and, when I was in the office, and later on our telehealth appointment, I was kind of blown away by how great she was. So sweet and caring and just a great personality. I know times are stressful, especially for medical personnel, but you wouldn't know it when you talk to her. I really appreciated her positive attitude.
