While the doctors and staff were always kind and thorough, there was a strong push toward cataract surgery. It devolved into a sales pitch that I almost walked out of. What's more alarming, is that I saw another eye specialist who said that there was no need for me to have the surgery. They were alarmed that I was so strongly encouraged to undergo the procedure. I've been going to Midwest for years and their doctors are hands down the best! I'd give 5 stars for the doctors. I've seen 3 different ones in my years, but they all are fantastic. They take their time and they actually get to know you and your needs. My current doctor even referred me for my recent LASIK surgery and was helpful for my checkups after. The office staff besides the doctors are usually pretty rude. They act like you're an inconvenience when you walk in the door. The reception is like this and also the checkout section. It seems like there are so many employees around but none of them want to help. I deal with this just because I love my doctor so much and don't want to switch now. read more

I won't buy glasses here again. Bought 2 pairs, 1 of which progressive. First, my scripts were switched so the wrong lenses were put in the frames. Second, I heard a pop while wearing my glasses with the progressive lenses and a small section of the plastic frame broke out after wearing them for 3 weeks. They replaced them for free, and the EXACT same thing happened with the replacement frames, same timeframe, same spot on the frame, everything. Since I paid almost $500 for two pairs of glasses and had these issues, I will not buy glasses here again. I will now go back to my tried and true online source, zennioptical.com, which I've never had any of these issues with and are half the price. read more

I have been seeing the same eye doctor for ten years in Indy. SInce moving to Noblesville I decided to try someone new and ended up at MidWest Eye Consultants. I walked in only to find even though I have VSP Insurance, I would have to pay an extra $71 contact lens appointment, something I never have had to pay before, it was included in my exam. They also dropped a $30 fee for the retinal scan-my old doctor just dilated my eyes and gave me an exam so I could avoid that extra charge. (He did offer the retinal scan by the computer but I had a clear choice). Then I find out they were charging a $50 copay and another fee, I think it was a "disposal" fee.... All in all, just in the door they added on close to $200 in extra charges that I have NEVER been charged by any eye doctor before. The people were nice in this practice, very polite..but I did what I have never done before..When I realized they were price gouging, I politely cancelled my appointment and walked out. I could have paid the $200-I have a brand new Flexible Spending account and had intended to buy 2 glasses and contacts that day. However, it was a matter of principle. This place reminds me of a corporate owned practice that is shiny and new and the people are well trained in customer service and those things divert people from noticing the price gouging. Even if I had money to burn, I would have walked out and given that money to a much more worthwhile cause then to line the pockets of this place. A fool and his money is soon parted, and I am not a fool. I will be driving to indy to see my honest, ethical, and fair eye doctor. read more

Very professional. Dr Grant is amazing with both adults and children. I love the extra care they take with explanation and consultation. They have great newer technology that many offices won't have. I love it not having to deal with dilation with the imager they have. There are an abundance of voices for frames and new tech on lenses as well. Their glasses department is friendly, informative, and takes time to make you feel comfortable and offer solutions to your concerns and questions. I was a patient here for years since they bought out Dr. McCann's practice next door to the current office. Dr. Scott Unger is a wonderful optometrist and I can only speak highly of him, but the corporate nature of the business was a terrible experience. I had an appointment cancelled by the office and then was given an option to reschedule 6 weeks out. I was shocked that after having this booked for a year, I was put at the end of the line. I decided the assembly line approach wasn't going to work for me any more. To add icing to the cake, I was told that it'd cost me $15 to get MY patient records from the office. I have been a patient of Dr Worth for a long time,since he was located in Westfield. He is the only reason I still visit this practice. He is wonderful super professional, honest and competent. I personally don't care for the location, getting in and out is difficult as I live in Westfield (thAt left turn is tough). The staff is in general unfriendly. The personal touch that was in the small business has been lost in big business. Sad because I really love my optometrist great selection of eye glass frames in all price ranges. Accepts most insurance plans. Well, I had to update my review. My daughter was told her glasses were on the way only to be told two weeks later "they just arrived" and "they were last years prescription". Come on! This is embarrassing. I had may exam and was sent to pick out frames. After 30 minutes or so of nobody waiting on me, I was told I could schedule an appointment to be helped with frames and have insurance all ready. So I made an appointment for 2 days later at 9am and when I arrived, 2 people were being waiting on and 3 more were waiting to be waiting on. Nobody had pulled my insurance and either they were that backed up in their 1st hour or they did take walk ins. Anyway it would be an hour to get to me so I said I'd reschedule. So 2 weeks later I thought I go in at 8am when they open and sure enough no customers were selecting frames so I ask if someone could help me since I'd been there twice already and even though there were no customers and available reps, I was told I'd have to come back when I had an appointment. I went somewhere else but Midwest had put a 30 day authorization on my insurance so I was locked out. When I called they said it would expire but why would they tie up my insurance before they ordered frames and lenses? Very disappointing and much time wasted. Please take me off your customer list. read more

I love my Dr. - Dr. Worth is fantastic. The front staff is not overly friendly and often acts annoyed if you ask a question or don't already know the flow of how to go. The intake process before you go back to the office is extremely repetitive and unecessary - just have me fill out a form or something. 10 minutes of waiting for you to enter data and ask me the same questions every year is a waste of time. I also hate that they try to book you a follow up appt without actually asking you if the appointment will work - forces me to call to cancel EVERY single year and then rebook - again spending longer on the phone because of the cancellation thing for what should be a simple task. Sometimes they don't even tell you that they booked it and you just get this random "reminder" a year later about an appointment you never made. I will NEVER order glasses here again. This is the second time that I have ordered glasses and no one bothered to notify me when they were in. The last time, they told me they would be in in about 2-3 weeks and I called after 2 months to ask when they were expected in and someone had said they called me - no phone message, no missed calls, no texts anywhere - they had the right number, not sure who they called, but it wasn't me. This time, again I was told 3 weeks. After 5 weeks I called and they had arrived but were incorrectly made so they sent them back - feels like a courtesy would have been to let me know of the delay, particularly since the optician knew my current glasses were broken and I needed them urgently. Nope. Again I called back at 8 weeks and asked when they would be here. I got a call about 12 hours later - "your glasses are here" - well that's coincidental so I asked, when did they come in? The answer - 2 WEEKS AGO. Again, they knew my glasses were broken but never bothered to call again. They say they did but again - no missed call, no phone message, no text message - the phone would have a record of it. SO FRUSTRATED. On top of that, I know my insurance coverage well, but it took FOREVER for me to order the exact same type of frames from the last time with only a new prescription. Even though I said "I want these, I'm good with what my plan covers" she insisted on writing out the entire cost, asking me AGAIN if I wanted that pair, and then making me wait while she manually entered everything she'd just written on paper - just enter it in the computer, I already told you I'm getting them and am aware of the cost. That process should not take 45 min. If you do go here - the time for the consult with the doctor is appropriate, but budget an extra 20 min for waiting and the front intake process, and if you wear corrective lenses - budget about an hour for that experience - it takes a long time. One of the ladies in that department is phenomenal - the others drag the process out unecessarily. Typically when I'm there I have to get back to work, I don't appreciate dragging things out so I have to take PTO to get a pair of glasses and then wait 2 months for them to come in or for someone to take the time to actually tell me they have arrived. read more

Their staff is nice but their optical department is terrible. Been waiting 4 weeks for regular glasses and sunglasses. Every pair of sunglasses we order there are sent back to the lab because they weren't made right. I would go elsewhere! read more

Twice I have had to use my warranty to replace my lenses due to faulty glare coatings. First time I was told that this had been happening with other clients who purchased this coating. Few months later the same problem returned with the lens coating. This time I when I returned to Midwest Eye Consultants to address the problem I was treated like I was trying to scam a free pair glasses. I was told this problem had never happened before and this was the last time the glasses would be replaced. I paid for both the warranty and the lens coating and I ask them not to put the coating back on. My warranty is basically useless and the money I spent on the lense coating was wasted. This was not my first visit I felt Midwest Eye Consultants lacked basic customer service skill. My family will be going elsewhere for our eye care. read more

The staff was helpful and friendly. Our doctor was awesome. Wait time was short. The waiting rooms were clean and modern. Parking lot seemed full but there were a lot of places still to park. Did not check out glasses here yet but looks like they have a large selection. read more

Staff was very friendly and courteous. I had virtually no wait between arrival, paperwork, and exam. Very nice facility. I've suspected I had an eye condition for many years now but it has never been diagnosed until coming here. All other eye doctors passed it off as getting older so it was nice to get a doctor who actually took the time to investigate the problem and provide me with treatment options. read more
