Rodondo sr. do knee replacements on both my knees and and have gone to the physical therapy office there after and I am very happy with my results and all the people who work in the physical therapy office are always great. just went there for the third time for some physical therapy and got great results read more

The doctor I was referred to was excellent. My hand was X-rayed on the spot and I was able to get the care I needed that same day. I would highly recommend this place. They have a lot of patients and even though they have a big parking space it is hard to find parking. read more

I went to the Midwest Orthopedic Office today ,my appointment was at 8:30, and I arrived early since it was my first visit. I finished the paperwork, and then the physician assistant came to take me to the waiting room, I noticed it was set up for an X-ray. I told the radiology technician that I had already I done imaging before, that it should be in their system, and that I also had an MRI with the report.they took the MRI to upload do the doctor can see it. I went back to the waiting area, and while I was sitting there, the assistant came out and started arguing with me in front of other patients, saying that my referral was only for the lower back. I was sure it covered my whole back. I asked her to double-check because I had already called my primary care doctor's office, and they confirmed it was for my entire back. Instead of checking, she told me,right there in front of everyone,that I was "rude," just because she didn't want to go verify the information. I stepped outside and asked to speak with the office manager. After a while, I met with her and explained everything that happened. I told her it was unacceptable for a staff member to speak to a patient that way and call them rude just because she didn't want to do her job. I also confirmed again that my referral was for my whole back. The manager was understanding, apologized, and brought the assistant to apologize as well. However, they still insisted that I get another X-ray, claiming it was the doctor's request--which later turned out not to be true. Since I had already taken time off work, spent half my day there, and was dealing with back pain and needed to see a specialist, I decided to stay. I did the X-ray and then waited another hour to see the doctor. When I finally saw the doctor, he hadn't reviewed my MRI, didn't seem familiar with my imaging or reports, and had no real understanding of my case. He just took the written MRI report from the radiologist and read it--something I had already done myself before coming in and was prepared to discuss. He also took my MRI report and made a copy of it to use for his paperwork. The service was terrible, the office and management were dishonest, and I would not recommend this place to any patient. read more

Long long waits. I was told by someone that has worked there for years new patients get seen right away. If you're a returning patient expect very long waits. Dr Branovacki replaced my right hip and left knee within 4 months...knee is getting replaced by another Doctor (11 months later!!!) and the hip has to be put on hold until I can get the knee revision and all the work after that. My "bad" hip feels better than the replacement. He is pleasant when he meets with you but don't be fooled!! He wants to do many surgeries (did 13-15 with both my joint replacements in a day!!! Unheard of after talking to multiple new doctors!) and tells his patients the replacements last 30 years!!! My knee lasted 11 months and the hip he replaced will be next!!! Do not use Midwest ortho in Orland or oak lawn!!!! Do your research...there's many better ones out there!!! Your time and quality of life matters!!! Dr Branovacki took my quality of life for the last 1.5 years!!! I've seen Dr Leonard for shoulders who has you wait forever and has probably also gotten too many patients and rushes you out of the office. Recently saw Dr. Garras for a consult for some foot pain. I had seen this physician years ago and trusted him and his expertise so I came back after receiving word from a university orthopedic doctor that I only had one option of fusing my joint. My scan was reviewed in detail along with receiving a thorough exam leading to the conclusion I don't need surgery at all but rather shoe modification and some physical therapy. Incredibly thankful for a surgeon who genuinely wants his patients to feel better and not just make money off of them by doing unnecessary surgery. The only downfall to the office was the front desk staff was less than friendly but radiology and the doctor were amazing. Thank you Dr. Garras. read more

Emily Mayekar-One Star -- Completely Unprofessional and Incompetent Dr. Mayekar and her staff are disrespectful, disorganized, and unprofessional. I've been left forgotten in exam rooms, waited unnecessarily, and treated rudely when asking for basic courtesy. The doctor herself behaves unprofessionally during visits and missed critical aspects of my diagnosis, giving treatment without understanding my preexisting nerve and muscle conditions. The staff's attitude was unkind and unhelpful, and the doctor herself never seems to have time to review test results properly or keep things organized. She missed diagnosed my condition even after I tried to give her my preexisting condition and she has access to X-rays and MRI's that were completed at her clinic. There's a clear lack of care, communication, and professionalism. Too quickly to inject with out fully understanding the issue. I would never recommend this doctor. They clearly do not prioritize patients or quality care. read more

I had my partial.knee replacement at Tinley Woods Surgical Center on Aug 6. My nerve blocker didn't last 48 hours. I was in a lot of pain on Aug 7. Calls to Dr office was not returned till I write an email to Jenny H. disappointed by the lack of compassion and follow up. Also my range of motion machine has not arrived yet. it's day 5 after surgery. This is so different from my right knee partial.replacement in Munster on Oct 2022. What a difference in care standard. I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad here. I went to this location yesterday for the very first time. Unfortunately I fractured my ankle, everybody was very friendly overall. The facility was very clean, they take your temperature right at the door before you go inside. They had lots of hand sanitizer and everything you need nearby. Everyone was wearing masks Sondos Masoud was the women who went over my results with me, she was extremely friendly and explained everything very well. The parking lot is big, there's lots of parking. They have wheelchairs and everything you need available to help you. read more

I'm not sure why the reviews are bad. I have had excellent care there in the last 10 years. Redondo had help me with the fracture and I broke my ankle in three places a year and a half ago. I went to MOC for a knee pain issue and it seems to me the most important concern for them was getting my credit card on file. The fact that I my BCBS. insurance had been pre-authorized means nothing to this company. When I conceded to this or not be seen and was told they would not process the charge until after insurance payment was received and a bill was sent. SUPRISE I received no bill but charge was put through Christmas day, this is not a TRUSTWORTHY company to do business with. BEWARE!! read more

My experience at MOC was terrible! I walked into this facility fine. I went to have both my knees assessed. They had told me that I would be a good candidate for gel injections. This was my 3rd referral. I choose them because my brother had his shoulder fix by them and he had a great outcome. Me, not so much. Upon arriving for my consultation. No pain in my knees, an occasional collapse of my knee. Overall, very functional. They prepared me for a cortisone shot first. Then I'm suppose to come back in 3 weeks to get the gel injection. They came to the conclusion that their was some fluid on my knee, and it needed to be drained before the cortisone shot. I'm in with the nurse practitioner, as she attempts to release fluid from my knee, she cannot insert the needle properly. I tell her to take it out because it was excruciating pain (and I am not a wuss). She takes it out and said "They can take it out when you get the gel. I'm like "that's ok?" she said sure." The next 3 weeks were fine, my knees felt great. Went to the next appt to receive the gel injections. The wait was kinda long. Get in, and they bring in the ultra sound machine in with them ( I'm assuming to pin-point where the injection goes, and doesn't use it, AND did not release the fluid in my knees.) I leave there to find out the following day that I have a huge bruise on my left knee above my kneecap the size of an adult average size hand of a woman!! Three or 4 days after that I suddenly have 2 lumps behind each one of my knee caps larger that the size of a "Cutie" orange! I let it go for a few days maybe a week or so. Call up the office and tell them i need to see the doctor, and I explain. My follow-up was in 4 weeks, she said there were no openings until the end of the following month AFTER my appt. that i already had. I insisted, and she said sorry, you"ll have to wait for your appt. Really?! She had a nurse practitioner call me back and I asked her what I supposed to do about this. She said very non-nonchalantly, like a valley girl drawing out her words, "Well, you could put those elastic things on your knees, I said really? you think that would help?, yeah maybe. I had some Naproxin they prescribed me when they gave me the gel, I asked If I should start taking those again, she said well, I guess you can. I said refill my script! When I called to change my appt. I told them when I come in for my 6 week I want to see the doctor. I went in and DID NOT see the doctor. It was the lady who gave me the injections. I waited and hour and a half to see this NP for a sit down that lasted 5 minutes. Claims the injections had nothing to do with these huge lumps behind both my knees and the fact that I cant even walk anymore, and my knees are killing me! I said is it fluid? she said no! Im like do you want to feel it? She barley touched it. It's probably inflammation" INFLAMMATION THAT I DIDN'T HAVE BEFORE I WENT HERE! There was no, sorry this happened to you, No, we can give you this and lets see if that helps. She preceded to say, SO do you want to schedule another appt. for gel injections? WHAT?! I said no, I'm pretty sure I have to resolve the issue I have going on in the back of my knee before injecting me again. Then she asked, If you had good results with the cortisone, do you want an injection of cortisone? AGAIN, I said No, I need to get the lump in the back of my knee resolved! She said ok and proceeded to walk out the door. And I was like That's it? She said yes ,and I walked out behind her. Right now Its hard to walk from the stove to the table. I have to stop and hold the counter for a bit before I start walking again. Actually, hard to do anything. I'm in the process of finding another doctor to take a look. I'm going on vacation in a month that requires a lot of walking. If this doesn't get fixed, I will have to cancel. THANKS MOC! read more

I went in for signs of carpal tunnel and was waiting in the the room for a very long time in which the Dr only saw me for less then 10 mins. I was told I had signs of carpal tunnel and recommend a wrist brace the nurse came back in making it seem like the wrist brace was no charge which was a LIE. The facility billed my ins who passed on the cost to me, if I would have known the cost of this wrist brace would have been $75 that could have been purchased from Amazon or Walgreen for the fraction of the price I would have decline. The front desk and Dr ws great. My review is based on their billing and lack of transparency when it came to the cost of equipment. read more

My mother had emergency surgery to repair her broken ankle. We were given a follow up appointment 2 weeks out from the surgery. The day of the appointment I get a call saying if my mother can come in earlier, I stated that we had arranged transportation and it couldn't be changed on such short notice. The driver delivered my mother late to the appointment. By the time I got her up to the second floor it was 18-19 minutes past her appointment time. We checked in and took a seat. About 5 minutes late we were informed that Dr. Kunz had left and there was nobody else to see my mother. I said can we reschedule for next week, she said no because they don't take my mothers insurance and she only had this one follow up visit since she was seen through an emergency visit. Dr. Kunz was probably out the door as soon as he could leave. What happened to patient care? How about giving us a call for ETA. This was the first visit after surgery and I feel some effort should have been put into seeing her that day. Not just the Dr is gone, no one else can see you, and no we can't reschedule, good luck. Dr. Emily Meredith Mayekar performed an unnecessary Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery on me via a false report. Dr. Mayekar diagnosed me with carpal tunnel in which she performed a procedure of a carpal release to rid the pain in my right wrist. She told me that I needed surgery to stop the pain. Later, after the unnecessary Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery I read her report and found that she lied in her report, she wrote; I was experiencing numbness and tingling in my ring finger, pointer finger and thumb on the right hand and that was never my medical complaint. My initial medical complaint was; experiencing pain in my right wrist (nothing else). I am now experiencing the worst pain since the CTS procedure causing me to utilize ice packs day and night. I was appalled to read in her report that she wrote; "He is disabled" and by God's Grace; I am not. Dr. Mayekar failed me as a physician as she didn't administer the proper treatment for the pain in my right wrist and she refused to look further into my medical complaint but rather ignored it and advised me to go see a counselor after the surgery. read more

Dr. Leonard is an excellent doctor who takes the time necessary with each patient. You never feel rushed. He is attentive and takes the time to answer questions. His staff is very professional and they always get you in and out of there in a timely manner, with the occasional exceptions. Dr. Leonard does not push surgery and would like to see you heal naturally if that is at all an option. I highly recommend him and his staff for your orthopedic needs. read more

I have seen Dr. Branovacki for a hip issue in 2015 and Dr. Garras for an ankle issue this year. I was very satisfied with both the physicians and their PAs. The office staff at the Orland Park location are much more pleasant than the Oak Lawn location and the office waits seem shorter at the Orland Park location. My rating is reflective of the physical therapy here. My insurance required me to see health care professionals associated with Advocate Health care. I incorrectly assumed that the Physical therapy here would qualify since the doctors did. Not once did anyone in the therapy department inform me that they were out of network for me. My out of pocket cost for 6 sessions was astronomical. When I questioned why no one informed me I was out of network, no one could give me an answer. To compare- When my ankle injury required PT I went to Athletico who informed me immediately that I wasn't in network. Midwest Ortho PT department has a very shady practice, I would not come here for therapy even if my insurance did cover it now. read more

BEWARE!!! They are scamming the billing. I was told with my insurance that in order to receive a procedure I had to pay up front $92.10 so I did. Weeks/ months later I start receiving bills. one for $241 for an mri, 1 for $52 for the consultation and 1 for $47 for the telephone call, not from the doctor but a staff member l, with the results. This is insanity. im still attempting to fight these charges but if this can reach just one person and save them the money and bullsh*t this company is doing I will write this. I had a TKR on 02/19/20. Dr George Branovacki performed the surgery. My experience with post surgery care was abysmal. Soon after arriving home from hospital things turned south quickly. I noticed oozing and bleeding through the bandages and had to remove compression stocking to replace the covering with new sterile bandage. I noticed that the lower part of incision was bleeding. I couldn't tell at that time that the lower 2 inches of the incision was not completely closed. The tape across the incision didn't allow a clear view. With the stocking removed my leg immediately began to swell to the point that it was impossible to put compression stocking back on. Shortly thereafter the nerve block wore off and a level of pain that I have never experienced developed. in 2003 I had AVM brain surgery and the post surgery pain pales in comparison to what I experienced after Branovacki's knee replacement. All of the above led to multiple visits with both Branovacki and his Assistant, Tom Prokoff. Prokoff commentEd that he had seen worst post surgery swelling in which the patients leg peeled like that of a bad sun burn. Well, guess what? I was give pain meds and sent for imaging to insure that there was no clotting. On a subsequent appointoint with Branovacki I asked him why something wasn't done to close the incision opening and he told me with a straight face " That would mean additional surgery" At my 5th office visit I was told that I was his one and only patient that he had to see 5 times. It's over a year and my incision is still not completely healed. Imagine trying to do physical therapy with a partially open incision that only scabbed up. There is so much more but if all were told it would sound like a B movie script. If you would like a Doctor that will constantly tell you about his 300 successful surgeries while you're looking for help then this guy is for you. Good luck! B.D. read more

my appointment was at 9:30am at the oak lawn location, I took half a day off work, I arrived at 9:28 to a very rude receptionist who called the doctor and insisted I have the appointment rescheduled, she called the dr right in front of me and said new patien here with no paperwork filled out so should I just reschedule? I had an MRI done and brought the disk, and I had time to fill out the paperwork, but was told I couldnt be seen again for a few weeks in a different location. i arrived early and was sent away and was told to go to a location further away even though when I scheduled it they were adamant about coming to this location. My appointment was at 3:00 pm. I arrived at 2:58 pm and did ten minutes of paper work. They showed I checked in at 3:11 pm. At 3:15 they said I was late and they couldn't see me. Ridiculous! They wanted me to reschedule. I said no. I wasn't late and they insisted that I reschedule. After finding a doctor I saw before he was able to intervene and then they made me wait an hour to see the doctor. The staff for Dr. Garas is the absolute worse most incompetent staff around. Absolutely horrible billing department. I payed a bill back in October 2019 that I'm still getting billed for in the mail 1.5 years later, getting told it'll be sent to collections. I've called NUMEROUS times trying to get this fixed and nothing happens. I've sent the RECEIPT and credit card statement showing the funds going to them and now I'm getting a letter saying they'll take further action if I don't contact them again. Super shady billing with this place!! Went in for some X-rays and a consultation. Paid my co pay with my spouses debit. Not even a month later I realize that they withdrew funds from my husbands account!! Did not tell us and did not run it through our insurance. They seriously took out over $1k from our personal checking account!! I had to call Chase and report fraud!! I was horrified when I realized what they had done so I called and was routed to an outsourced billing center and the agent informed me I had signed something giving them consent to access my account. Uhm No!!! I did not. And if I did it was because your office staff slipped it into my stack of patient intake forms and I glanced and didn't realize what I was agreeing to. I think that is super shady and very deceptive business tactics. What doctors office wants to take their payment thru direct withdrawal and not even run it thru my BCBS?? One I don't want to do business with ever again. So in closing I find this entire entity to be duplicitous and unethical and I will be contacting an attorney to see if I have any legal recourse against their billing department. I would go elsewhere. Look for a smaller more personal experience. One where they don't take your debit card info and take $1,000 out of your account on a random afternoon read more

I had an ankle surgery in November 2020. It was a minor procedure. I hoped to trim the size of my arthritic ankle bone. I could no longer wear winter boots. The doctor was eager to operate. He warned me about the pain I might have after the the surgery. He did not prescribe any anti-inflammatory medications. I could not walk for weeks. My doctor visits were only with medical assistans. One of them would not even look at my x-rays. On the most recent visit, she told me to fuse my ankle so the pain could subside. read more

I had a 2:20 appointment this past Monday, when I arrived they said we don't have an appointment for you. I drove 70 miles to get there on time and they lost my appointment for their PA because I could not see the doctor for another 3 weeks. The receptionist said the doctor would see me if I wanted to wait an hour and forty minutes. Then it would be another 70 mile drive home in rush hour traffic. I wanted to see the doctor in the first place and time just appeared out of thin air. I won't be back. Good thing is I didn't have to use my co pay. read more

This place is a joke. I have been waiting for over an hour to see a doctor. Their paper work is always messed up and billing issues. They forgot to charge me for my appointment upon arrival and then needed the money ASAP. They did not sent my MRI to my primary doctor. I should have received workmans comp but they never sent my information to my doctor in time. The doctors are rude the front desk staff is not helpful. They never have appointments. I posted this same review on another site. Let me start by saying that I wish I had done more due diligence before using this medical facility I researched my doctor, not the facility. The stars I'm giving this company are solely because of convenience. In order to keep a long story short, I'll get right to the point. I have always paid my MOC invoices according to the terms I set up with the billing department. However, MOC changed billing companies and that is when all hell broke loose! I began receiving two invoices and true to my nature, I made billing arrangements with both companies and thought nothing else about it until, I began to experience pain and contacted MOC to set an appointment to see my doctor. According to the staff, stated in what seemed like the coldest tone, "you have an outstanding invoice and you can't make an appointment to see the doctor until you send in a payment". Even though, as I stated above, I have always made the payments THEY agreed to. There was a lot of back forth that I don't need to go into, however, suffice it to say that what I heard from their "cold" statement to me was "you are not a patient, you are a customer so your pain doesn't matter....give us our money!" I am floored by this behavior; I feel like I am being strong armed by a group of gangsters! I cannot believe the treatment I received from the staff and I hope, however I doubt it, that no one else has received this type of treatment. I do understand and agree that invoices should be paid, that is why I made it my business to set up payment arrangements, according to THEIR terms. What the employees of MOC need to understand is that regardless of the ability to pay, patients have the right to be treated with respect and dignity. They also need to realize; they could one day be on the other end of that very dehumanizing phone call. I must add that I did receive help from one concerned employee in the Orland office, however, the employees that answer calls ind the Oak Lawn Office, need serious training in customer, no, PATIENT service and care. And, frankly, if the employees think they are helping the company with their lack of compassion, they need to think again, or MOC should consider hiring employees that will actually put the health of the company first, by showing concern and care for the patients they SERVE, because, I can almost guarantee that strong arming patients won't do it. My father had a knee replacement surgery with Dr. Luis Redondo 2 weeks ago. Cannot say enough positive things about this doctor! My father was very hesitant about getting his knee surgery done and now, his recovery has exceeded all his expectations. He is having minimal pain and is up and walking around with no assistance. Initially scheduling an appointment was a huge ordeal due to my father's HMO insurance. The insurance woman in Dr. Redondo's office went above and beyond for two weeks working with us to get his insurance to approve his surgery. The hospital stay was 2 days and my father is now recommending Dr. Redondo to all of his friends. Great doctor!! read more

My mom had her surgery in February 2019. Now 8 months later she couldn't be happier with the results. Before the surgery she couldn't walk without pain meds and the possibility of a wheelchair in near future if things keep progressing. But after a 9 hour surgery with Dr. Szczodry having 18 screws in her spine, a lot of therapy and God's providence watching out for her I can honestly say she is a new person. Through presurgery, surgery and after care Dr. Szczodry and his team have done an amazing job. Thanks Dr. Szczodry for giving my mom a better quality of life! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT COME HERE! The level of professionalism from staff to management is extremely poor as they lack ALL respect for the individuals who come here for service. I have never experienced such distress at a check in process from being insulted by the desk clerk to being disregarded by the the manager when discoursing my initial treatment, which was shared by other patrons. I was so flabbergasted by the disgusting behavior of this staff that I didn't even see the doctors here. There is NO WAY that I will ever go to another Advocate Medical Group establishment! My Father is in a nursing home & in a wheel chair. So, he is transported via ambulance to see doctors. He had an appointment at the oak lawn office today & they said he had to be put in another wheel chair for the MRI. He can't walk or even get up on his own. Nobody was willing to help move him to the wheel chair so they never did the test & sent him back to the nursing home! How messed up is that? Ignorant! read more

The physical therapy side is either over booked with patients, way understaffed or both. I've gone here twice for PT to my knees and quit both times after a month. For the most part, you start your session with your therapist but are passed off to someone else after 15 mins because your therapist has another patient. A few times I was passed off 3 times during a 1 hr session. The therapists who you're passed off to just go thru the motions because they're busy with 2-3 other people as well. And during that time they're typing away on their laptops trying to keep up on their paperwork. There were several occasions where I was setting up my own exercises or machines and just walked out when I was done. No one had any idea I was there, what or how I was doing the exercises, or that I even left. read more
