Do NOT shop here. Rudest workers I've ever met. When my group of special needs clients walked in, they immediately gave us the rudest look and told us "you break it, you buy it" as if we've never been in a store before. One of the workers, I believe, to be taking photos of them and she denied and asked us to never come back. She made one of our clients cry due to her demeanor, tone, and attitude. This is the real deal people. First of all, it's HUGE! Sure it's crammed to the gills and a little disorganized, but guess what, real collectors love that; it's makes the hunt more fun! As to grumpy staff, April is more than friendly so maybe you caught her dad on a bad day. If I'm still working when I'm in my 80s I bet I'll have a few bad days too. Now let's talk about "the stuff." They don't have racks and racks of boring everyday clothes here like everywhere else, but I spotted a cool looking London Fog trench coat hanging near a huge pile of LPs. They had two desk telephones from the 30s, an Italian-made record changer from the 50s and some really cool Bang and Olufsen gear from the 70s and 80s. You're not going to see stuff like this at most thrift shops. Pro tip; if you collect jewelry you have to ask to see the good stuff. The marked prices can be a little high but if you really want something, good things come to those who negotiate. I'm going to be a regular here because they're always getting new inventory in, and that's what's it all about. Five stars all the way! read more

1. I was overcharged. Also, expect prices to inexplicably go up. Was told one price then was told a higher price at check out. But, then looked at my credit card statement - I WAS CHARGED EVEN MORE THAN THIS NEW INCREASED PRICE (and, no not just sales tax). 2. Items are not well maintained. My mom and I were visiting Omaha for an Epilepsy event in the Blackstone District so before that started we decided to walk to Midwest Pickers because we love hunting for unique finds and antiques. The store was easy to get around, despite it being crowded, but we've been to many antique shops like this and honestly, what ones aren't crowded? Just means more stuff to find. And although it did have tons of stuff, we thought it was well organized and clean! We had a great time checking out all of items! My mom found a few small things that she purchased and I found one item that was slightly bigger. I wasn't going to buy it at first because we did not drive downtown and we were on our way to an outdoor walking event and I didn't want to carry this item with me for hours. When we went to check out, we made a comment about possibly ordering it online and the owner offered to let me buy it and told us she's drop it at the front desk of a hotel downtown so that when we were done with the event, we could grab it! I was thrilled because I really wanted it! She went above and beyond to get me the item! So 10/10 will return and will recommend! Thank you again April! You made my day! read more

I stopped by yesterday and found the prices extremely high compared to other thrift/second-hand stores. At times, the asking prices seemed double what I would pay elsewhere. A small brass planter? $15. I'd pay $5-$8 at other places. Additionally, a lot of the items are pretty junky and dirty to boot. Finally, the place was blasting a far-right Christian station when I was in. Definitely off-putting if you're a different religion. I can't say I felt welcome. read more

This is a wonderful trip back into yester year. If your looking for something specific or just that little trinket that reminds someone "I had that when I was a kid!" it is a great place to stop and take a peek. It's like foraging in Grandma's attic. Please help support all the local vintage shops in the community. The people could be a bit more friendly. Went on a Saturday and they were charging a $1 for admittance-??- don't know why. Stopped in on a Friday and they weren't so weird... I really like this place. They have a consignment clothing section, but they also have neat glassware, ceramics, beautiful old picture frames, and a collection of old tools that just need a bit of rehab. If you're into antiques and thrifty, this is the place for you. read more

While I found some good things I find it hard to believe that charging admission to an antique store is a good idea. We had to pay a dollar just to enter. I spent 300 bucks and maybe should have been refunded as I made a purchase. Nope. And to top it off I was not allowed to use my tax resale number and had to pay another 30 bucks in taxes. I hope they enjoy the admission they got from me that day as it will be the very last dollar they get from me. Terrible business practice. read more

After the first time visiting this business I decided to never return. A lot of overpriced and super filthy junk (Mind you, I love junk - but if I have to clean it and repair it, I expect to pay a decent price). On a whim, I decided to visit a second time (well over a year later), there was even more overpriced, dirty and broken junk then the previous time - just walking around here feels like you're breathing in lots of toxic bacteria and dust. Also, the person working the front (who was no where to be seen most of the time I spent in the store) demanded that I pay $1 admission fee after I was half way through the store. I have a problem with poorly organized antique stores, and this one falls right into that category. The warehouse is big, I'll give them that, but it's not the cleaniest and there are items strewn haphazardly on shelves, tables, etc - no real organization to speak of. I found some neat items for fairly cheap, which was nice, but I've been to better antique stores and overall, just not a fan of this one. read more

We walked here today from the Blackstone district. The place is phenomenally full of stuff. No way to see it all, even if you spend hours there. This is a collectors dream. The beauty of a place like this is that there is magic if you look around. It is not all laid out for you to see everything, you have to look carefully in the case, on the shelf, in the drawers. I spent most of my time there right by the front desk, looking at tiny dolls, figures, jewelry, toys, and so much more. April was extremely friendly and helpful and amazingly knew where so many things were, that she brought to me. She has clearly done her homework and knows what her items are worth, and her prices are fair. Make an offer, she will consider it. Her dad was really nice too, even after he found out we were from New York. (Not everyone likes New Yorkers, can't imagine why!) The place smells like a garage, because it is a real antique shop, not one scrubbed clean and sterile. If you like this sort of thing, this will blow your mind. Warning though, I had sensory overload so I could only look at a very small portion. But I got a few treasures to bring home. Thanks very much! read more

This is a decent second hand shop. However, the people who own it are new to customer service and it shows. I've had questions about products both times, and have walked away empty handed either because they didn't know the information or just wouldn't speak to me. I think once they've been open a bit they'll get their "sea legs" and learn how the business works. read more

Never have I ever been asked to pay an admission fee to enter a facility in which I had planned on spending money. They lost a paint sale today as I was intending on buying some of the Junk Gypsy paint. In addition, I was really looking forward to making a few furniture purchases as I am re-doing several rooms in my house. As a business owner myself, I realize that half of the battle is getting clients through the door. Here they are turning them away before they can get over the threshold. I arrived at the location around noon today, Friday 3/3. I had shopped here before last year (for free..) and was looking forward to spending several hours looking again; last year during our visit there were a LOT of customers. So when I was asked to pay an admission price today, I was so shocked that I turned around and left. The facility was empty of clients... Since there are about 100 other antique shops, not to mention all the thrift stores in town, I think I'll stick to the stores where I can look and shop without having to pay an admission. And for the record, I will also stick to purchasing Annie Sloan paint from Keep the Piece in Omaha where I don't have to pay to enter their store. Perhaps they should rethink their business plan if the intent is to make sales, because I for one will not be back if I am forced to pay just to enter the facility to make purchases. read more

Go to the imaginarium down the street. No fee to get in and they have 20 different vendors that go out and hand select nice stuff and pay to rent space so there's a better selection. read more

I went here after my bad experience at Jim's Seek and Save on 7/31/13. The man behind the counter was very courteous despite not wanting to buy the antique stove I was hoping to part with. He complimented the condition it was in but motioned toward one across the shop that hasn't moved in a year. He explained that he couldn't take another on in his inventory. He made several suggestions for other places that might be interested. I really appreciated his candidness and would definitely return to his shop again. read more

The girl and father that run this place were incredibly rude to my family. Grandma had just passed away and left her estate with MANY valuable items. Thinking this was the place to go to try and sell some things, they were AWFUL. My mother is already in tears because we are getting rid of some of Grandmas things, but they were busy and didn't want to take a look at what we had. They proceed to call our Grandmothers things "crap" and we ended up leaving with horrible customer service. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Ever. read more

I came into the store with my son on Saturday 2.24.17 looking for a very specific unique high dollar ($500+) item that I had seen posted online. The $1 requested at the door is actually a DONATION to the food bank (not a $1 "cover charge") which we were more than willing to support. I was immediately greeted by April. She found the exact item I wanted. April even told me the history of the item, which made me love it even more. She was willing to wiggle on asking price a bit to compromise at a purchase price that we were both comfortable with. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. I live close to this store and I have been there many times because I like old stuff. My kids also loved the place because they are into old cameras etc. The last time I was in the store the owner accused my oldest son of stealing comics. I was very upset and the owner said, "well people steal from here all the time". My son definitely didn't steal anything from them and he was very upset that we were accused of being thieves. I was also very hurt by the accusation. It is very sad that their theft problems are spilling over onto loyal customers who have taught their kids not to steal. I would never ever recommend business with this establishment! I recently signed a three month rental agreement with the owner to rent space for my business and had given money upfront for the space. I made plans with her to come and help clean the stores items out of the space that I rented, free of charge, just to spend the day getting to know one another basically. We both know people, (her relatives, and my daughter are best friends), who are friends. I in the time preparing to open, I spent countless money, was told it was fine to use this as my business address, countless hours planning, preparing, setting up business accounts and speaking with business people and advertising not only self but her business also. Two days before we planned to meet and clean out space, we had phone conversations about payment, and meeting each other on that day to clean space. One hour later I received phone call and was confronted with some strange questions, as I was asked also in earlier convo. about my income and when I was paid. I felt no reason not to open up to her. Believing we were developing a re pore' of some kind and since sharing mutual friends, family acquaintances and I had even offered to come help time to time with business since she was pregnant. I had no reason not to trust her.. oh, what a mistake. She questioned me and then asking me to postpone my opening and make late payment, making it, or rather offering that as an option to me based on some things I shared with her. Things about me not having some product to fill up the entire space and moving slow due to some personal and health but, I was on the move and very excited to get into my new space and get business going as planned and as our contract was stated. She insist I wait and offered money back to me and I said no, keep the money and I want to make sure I have that space I rented. I made several plans based on that space, money spent, things made, ect... so much invested in. When I would not alter our contract, and I thought if I did she would rent to someone else, I did not want to lose my space I planned and spent so much money on, she right out said, " I don't want to do business with you!" " I am not renting to you any more" ... I could not believe what I was hearing and then went on to tell me she already paid two guys a few days ago to clean that space out! .. I said, WHAT? .. We just spoke an hour ago and confirmed our plans to do this... we spoke many times about this and now you are telling me this already has been done?? how does this happen?? and I practically begged like a pathetic who knows.. to allow me to take and honor the contract we both signed and I paid money on! She said NO! I have a three month contract, signed by me and her, stating both parties are to give thirty days notice, ect.. ect.. ect.. and I now see on one of her sites another business has advertised they are moving into big space at this business.. huh?? could it be they have now rented the same space I have a contract on and as to why she wanted me to wait on my space?? this is not legal!! Cannot rent a space and take money, sign legal contract on space and then sign a contract or even give space to another business... I lost much money, time, ect.. and now she is saying it is because I am unprofessional?? huh? I said I thought we were starting a friendship, and I shared the things you were asking me questions about... did not think anything about it... she said sternly. .. I do not do business with friends and and dont want business with you... I believe now that is also an issue.. possibly discrimination!! She has taken my personal info. she was asking me about, using it against me, and as grounds to cover her ass as that was her motive for the phone call she made an hour later and as to why she cleaned space out two days prior and never told me when we made plans and confirmed earlier that morning... what the hell??? I am in the process of filing a legal suit against and finding many grounds to fight her on.. I would stay clear away from any business dealngs with this company... she will act as your friend.. pump you for info. ... and turn and stab you in the back.. it don't matter if you have acquaintances or anything with this person... she is cold... and does bad bad business and does not matter if you sign legal contract with her.. she does what she wants either way.. and if you give you money.. oh, she tells me now she does not have to refund my money to her.. this place is a diamond in the rough. i never thought that part of leavenworth had something so cool! i didnt know exactly what i was walking into but a friend told me to check it out. by looking at it from the outside you'd never think there would be so many amazing finds in there. the girl working was super helpful and seemed to know alot about what she had. she and her father own it-its nice to see a real family business! thanks for the record player!
