Recently attended the Corporate Challenge at the Midwest Sports Complex. I didn't even know it was here, and I used to work in the area! Plenty of soccer fields and baseball diamonds. However, they have really nice sand volleyball courts. The sand is white and soft and well-kept. I don't play often, but I find it's really difficult to find nice sand volleyball courts. The Fish Bowl is the on-site cantina/watering hole. Is it top notch? Not really, but it's a spot to get a drink and hang out on a patio next to the volleyball courts. There really isn't even a door, and the whole place reminds me of bars you find in Florida near the beach. Those take a beating from the wind & salt in the air, and it seems like this place has too even without a beach, but it doesn't bother me. You can get a beer or a basic mixed drink if you want. The food options are really limited - I'm talking a sandwich and chips and maybe a burger on special. There's actually a lot of available parking on site so even with the large groups that were here in addition to normal Saturday activities, I felt like there was enough room for everyone. Honestly, if you're looking for a spot to have outdoor activities or sports, this place does the job. I don't know rental rates, but as a user of the facility, it does the job! read more

The vibe and mixture of people is almost worth a visit alone. Other than that it's a pretty decent place. I'm only there for Sand Volleyball seasons and the occasional drink in between and after games. I like that there are 8 courts which allow more people to play on a given day. There used to be a DJ playing the top hits but not sure what happened with that. read more

Pay a league fee. Pay every game for refs that may or may not show up until the very end, have zero continuity between how their staff calls games, and you might even have to explain the rules to them! Oh yeah, and pay $3 per person to get in. Every time. The teams I played against were a mixture of about having fun, and uber competitive. I don't know if there's a competitive kickball league, but be warned that if you just want to play for fun, the refs will call your game against a super competitive team if you're getting killed, even after 20 minutes. And you're still out the ref and entrance fees. This could be a good place if they got rid of their entrance and ref fees and didn't make it feel like they were nickel and diming me for everything. The league fee should be all inclusive. $300 for a team is fine, but $9 per ref (which has extremely spotty quality) and $3 per person to get in every time makes this completely not worth it. read more

So this place is cool. I went here for a corporate challenge to play volleyball in the wee hours of the morning. It was so cold but as we moved around we warmed up. It was a Saturday morning - the bar wasn't opened nor was there any food or coffee or anything for those who came. The sand volleyball courts were nice and there were TONS of courts. There was also lots of space for the other competitions going one. One specifically was corn hole on the eastern part of the field. The parking was pretty good and there was enough for everyone. This was the second year I went, I am not sure how the courts work outside of the corporate challenge but I had a pretty good experience. read more

This place has NOT gotten any better from my time there back in 2015. Luckily, I let my husband take the kid to most of his tournament games. I tried to use the restroom but the smell emanating from the ladies restroom so was putrid and as I started to walk in I realized the floor had about half an inch of toilet overflow all over the place with a "caution" sign. It was apparent to me that whatever had come out of the toilet had not been cleaned up properly at all. Having sandals on, I was not going to venture into this perhaps literal "sh!t hole." The grounds are still dirty. My husband tried to go to the concession stand but the line was for miles so he decided it was not worth it. read more

I come here every so often for weekly company softball games. Since the last two months have been rainy, we've had quite a few game cancellations. Most times, they have been cancelled before game time and we don't show up but there have been a few times where you come to the field and pay the entrance fee and then the game gets cancelled. When I've gone to the gate keepers, they've either been rude and tell me they don't do refunds, which is fine but I was asking about just getting a rain-check for the next time, or they've been so under-trained/uninformed of policies that they just tell me they "don't know, you'll have to ask management." Of course management is never in when asked, so I've given up on that front. The ball fields are decent enough, though the outfield on several fields has some spotty rough spots that have tripped people because of the uneven growth patches. read more

This facility is awful. Trash everywhere, missing fencing, holes in fencing, dirty bathrooms, every surface is uneven, fields aren't maintained well, half the lights don't work and it's expensive. My daughter is playing a tournament here this weekend and we are very disappointed with the facility especially when it's $8/day per person on top of the tournament fee not to mention that the emails from the tournament director said one price to get in and when you get here the rude lady at the gate says something different. read more

Where your typical boozey, beer league softball players, the overly serious tourney teams, that one girl you kind of know's dad and the late 20 somethings who are learning what it's like to be out of shape all come together. The complex is really relaxed and let you bring your dog (in our case - team mascot) and speakers to play music during the games. To sweeten the deal they have two options for bars. Midwest is great for social events! The Fishbowl has a full bar and tons of food options. They will even cater to your own party. It is a great atmosphere and perfect for company outings, graduation parties, birthdays parties, etc. You can rent the Fishbowl per hour for a low price and you can rent the sports facilities for your party too! Great fields, lots of stuff to do, but can't stand that they charge $3 to enter. I live across the street and they still charge me if I walk over. What a sham. Plus they never turn their lights off. Big old Hell NO! They charge $3 per person every time. Don't even think about parking in the school lot next door and walking in b/c they will call the police. Not just school security, actual Indianapolis police officers. My company put together a softball league, $25 per person for a 10 week season. Failed to mention that I would also be paying another $30 to play. If they would have said the fee is $55 I wouldn't have felt like they were being sneaky charging me every time I show up. We had a game where our umpire was about 30 mins late and we only have the field for 1 hour. We had a game scheduled on Monday, Memorial Day. We showed up b/c our team captain was called and told the other team would be there and we would have a game. Truth be told, the other team just didn't call to say they weren't coming. So we were out $3, gas money, and it wasted our time. This is my first experience with this facility and I feel ripped off. read more

I can't help but LAUGH at the previous reviews complaining about the $ 3.00 entrance fee. If you cannot afford the $ 3.00 fee you should not play at Midwest (it's too pricey for you). Also, why is there a sense of entitlement that you should be allowed to park at the church next door? That parking lot is for the church, not Midwest. The fields are well maintained, the leagues are well organized, and the umpires are punctual. If you can find the courage and strength to overcome the ALL-MIGHTY $ 3.00 entrace fee, then this is the best place to play softball in Indy. read more

Following is a review written by my wife, Lana (and we're from Indy, not Temecula): My comments are strictly relayed to the golf course. Do not go there expecting that this will be the old Crooked Creek golf course. My friend and I Played there every week before they closed in 2007. We were excited to see that they had reopened . We played there today and we're disappointed to see that things have definitely gone downhill. The fairways are crabgrass. The rough is 6 inch thick weeds and the sand traps are nothing but weeds ( No sand in sight ). If this doesn't discourage you , our cart looked like it had been thru a war. The back had white paint splashed all over it. The seat and windshield was filthy and the device that holds the bag with the strap was unattached on one side. Since there was only one other person on the course you would think they could have picked a better cart.. That was our last round at Crooked Creek! read more

We have a baseball tournament at this location. Terrible facility. Concession staff was terrible. They weren't prepared for a tournament. Not a fun time at all. I wouldn't recommend this place for any kind of tournament. read more

wow,after reading trevors review and the others, I was prepared to be disappointed. The place is awesome and the 3$ fee is well what they offer. I'm new to the area so I wanted to see where I could go for outdoor sports and this place is serious about fun and sports. I investigated the parking situattion with the owner who explained to me that the previous reviews about the parking fees were angry cause they got caught sneaking into private property. Losers its 3 bucks,go to a city park if you're that cheap. This place has a great bar and restuarant and plenty to do for my entire family. If you're about family,sports,food and fun and you're not a constant whiner who thinks the world owes them something,you just might enjoy this place...I sure did. read more

I'm only reviewing the golf. Yes they did charge 3$ to enter, but that deducts from the fee you pay on anything else. So if you play golf its 7$ bucks, for a total of 10$. The course was pretty sweet. The first hole was uselessly short, but all the other holes were decent lengths and a nice mix of length with moderately challenging hole locations. They have a 389yd par 4, 374yd very tough dog leg par 4 and tough par 3 with an island green. Some of the longer holes are adjacent to a row of houses so beware the slice because you will definitely break something. The other holes are relatively easy but there is a decent amount of water in various places around the course which makes accuracy important on this course a must. Goose crap was everywhere, but thats something most courses deal with. The several ponds around the course probably mean more geese than you would like. It was gross to try to putt with 50 goose turds all over the green but, again its late in the year so these things happen. One thing I would say is that the grass is a little long and there are a decent amount of rolling hills all over the course. They probably dont mow and manicure as much as a golf only course, but its late in the year so that could be the reason for that. Overall, the worst part was the goose crap, but everything else was great. I was the only person out and got to work on long and short parts of my game which is all you can ask for in an executive course. I'm surprised that no other reviews have been done for the golf, if I could play this course everyday it'd be pretty sweet. Highly reccommended. read more

This place has been going downhill for the past few years. In additional to paying a fee to be on a softball team, which my husband is on 3 (a fee each time), you have to pay a $3 entry PER PERSON, not per car. So if you have a family of 5 that wants to come in, they are already at $15 just to enter the gate. The only thing they had to serve food wise lately was cold hot dogs and 1 single slice of pizza because everything else was out. They didn't have enough umps to staff all of the games that were going on, so we waited an hour and twenty minutes to have the security guard ump the first game, which they cut the time short to only 40 minutes so they didn't run further behind. Well we didn't get a refund for that even though the games were paid for beforehand and paid for an hour. The bathrooms are disgusting, there are holes in the walls behind the toilets so you can see the plumbing. The air dryer didn't work, there were no paper towels, and the garbage was overflowing. It seems like they need to get new management or new owners to turn this place around. If they kept up with it and used the money they are getting nightly to actually update and keep nice this has potential to be a nice facility. For now, pretty crappy establishment. read more

I am currently playing in the softball Rec league. If you are looking for good fun and honest competition this is not the league for you. There are multiple teams that should be in the competitive leagues, one of which admitted to being a travel team who was only playing Rec to "get bats". When you play the first team of the night and end the game with 12-10, but the next game is 0-15 by the end of the second inning then something is broken. read more

This is the worst softball experience I've had in Indianapolis. They charge $3 per person to get in...but when I called, they said they only charged $3 per car. I'm not actually that mad that they charged, but they should at least be clear about it. The fields are poor, the umpires late. We had to forfeit a game because they wouldn't call a game... but, I shit you not, you could have swum in centerfield. The next week, we all showed up, and it rained half as hard. The game, of course, was cancelled (and no refund). I'd avoid this place if at all possible. read more

It's pricey, but the pricing is competitive with Bluff Road (ISP) and other facilities. The cons: games start late often because of kids tourneys on weekend afternoons, scoreboards take forever to get fixed, some umps start the time before the coin flip which can screw you out of time, and the fields drain very very poorly. Overall it's a decent place tho. They offer a ton of sports, so if you paid $3 to get in, you can play basketball or volleyball and go to the bar and all that. I know the $3 entrance fee blows but they do that everywhere. If you feel that's a deal breaker, I suggest you have your agent negotiate that in your next Nike contract. read more

0 stars...if I could as a travel baseball team we were looking for some place different to play. Drove 2 1/2 hours. We entered a tournament July 2019. Facility is a dump..bathrooms broke urinals etc. As for field conditions small portable mounds no grass infields. The fields were pure dust. The wind would kick up small sand storms. The fields had irrigation /sprinklers but was told by the owner it broke right b4 we got there. I asked a coach that played there the week before he said it was like that last week. They went the whole tournament and didnt drag or line fields. We paid several hundred dollars to participate. New gameballs ...yeah they ran out. We used old bottom of the bucket baseball. I threw in several over the course of 4 games. The umpires are horrible. Dont think they are certified at least do not know the rules of baseball. Place will be a trailer park soon. For a place that charges $4.00 for a hotdog, you would think they would have acceptable restroom facilities.... They have by far the worst bathrooms in central Indiana. Disgusting and sinks are stopped up every time we have played here. Doors don't lock on most stalls, stalls are so small you sit sideways.... Ridiculous... read more
