I left the house, closed the garage door, waited to be sure it closed and saw that it did.... then I'm out and about and get a text from my neighbor that my garage door is open. What's up with that? So based on Yelp reviews, I called Mighty Garage Doors. Great name, good image. The guy was very helpful and said he could send someone out in a few hours. Dane showed up and checked things out and told me that the opener was old (12 years) and was "losing its memory." He said the frequency couldn't be changed because it would just happen all over again. I was leaving for a weekend in LA and wasn't about to risk having my garage door open up by itself. Dane put in a new box with new mother board. He also analyzed my garage door and fixed some of the screws, etc. When he finished, the door opened and closed with less noise and with a smoother motion than it ever had before. He finished the entire job in just over an hour. Total cost: $375 for immediate service. What a great company. Dane (who had a great personality in addition to being efficient, prompt and knowledgeable) told me that his company services the Marine base and that they have been in business for many years. Called Mighty Garage Doors to make an appointment to service our garage doors because we used them in a past and even recommend to friends. We agreed on day and time for them to come out, Tuesday between 12 and 2pm but when the day of the appointment came a guy from some other company showed up at 3pm. Company that has tons of 1star reviews on Yelp and I would never consider them otherwise. I was in a hurry and let him look at our door. He wasn't able to tell what was exactly wrong and why the door kept lifting back up at random times, but tightened some things, etc and charged us $89 for coming out. The paperwork mentioned Mighty referred them to us. Never during the initial call did Mighty mentioned they will give our address to a different company and have them come out instead. That is very unprofessional. If you guys are too busy then say so on a phone and let the customer chose the next company they want to deal with. Do not share customer information with other companies without their permission and send them to their homes. read more

Worst experience ever. Advice: Ask your salesperson how he or she handles dissatisfaction with the installation. Ask for examples of how problems were remedied. During this installation the owner acted out of control and trespassed on our property (we have this on video), arriving without warning to inspect the poor condition of the brand new door his company just installed. The slightest mention of dissatisfaction to our salesperson (who couldn't have been nicer or more responsive during the sales transaction) unfortunately resulted in a quick breakdown in communication. The salesperson had no idea how to handle a legitimate complaint about the new garage door, and directed us to the owner, who was horrible. Instantly jumped to legal threats. I'm stingy with five stars, it's reserved for the best of the best. Less than a year ago, I had a garage door emergency, it was locked in place due to the rollers/bushings/bearings coming off track and and bending structures that hold them in place. The tech(NOT FROM MGD) that came out on a Saturday wound up charging us $300.00....since we needed the work done, I paid for it, but we didn't even consider using that company again. Fast forward to today. We noticed for a few weeks now that one of the bearing/rollers was coming unseated...and called on Friday for appt to repair. Nice lady on the phone asked if Tuesday was acceptable, I said "sure". How about between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm? "Sure". Great, now we wait! Jesse showed up at 9:30 am today. Now, don't know about you all, but time is money, and early is awesome to me! 8:00 am would certainly have been TOO early, but 9:30 am is a refreshing and welcome surprise, as I was cleaning up the garage anyway. For $95:00, he: -Lubed the track and motor mechanism. -Corrected the (previously incorrectly installed) track orientation problem(not an easy fix, maybe 20 minutes). -Visually inspected the pins and connectors for the door sections -Trued up the track with special Visegrips that I don't have that really took out the bends, waves and kinks(maybe another 10 minutes, both sides) -Inspected the motor assembly, informed me how much longer he thought it would be working and made some helpful suggestions.(He was here slightly over an hour, working the whole time) -Inspected the door function and kept working until he was satisfied, inside the garage and outside that he had done work up to a high standard of quality. Some service technicians suck, some are ok, and some are spectacular. If I owned a business looking for someone who is a self-starter, conscientious and mindful of his work, I would hire Jesse in a heartbeat. He was that AWESOME! It was money well spent, and for those of you clueless enough to lock yourself in the garage without an exit point, consider a $95.00 service call a fee for being stupid!! read more

For a couple of months, I'd been having a problem with my garage door opener. When I'd try to close the door, it would stop halfway down and re-open. All obvious causes were explored and disregarded. They made a mistake, admitted it, and fixed it fast. This may be the first four star review for a company that didn't deliver on time. We needed to replace our garage door windows with new glass after a botched instillation by another company (they get one star, just for comparison). Keith answered the phone at the company's HQ and came within an hour to take the broken glass away. He measured the replacement glass but ended up measuring wrong, coming back with the wrong size glass. I honestly didn't mind but Keith clearly did. He felt awful. He got new glass cut and had it all fixed fast. I was really impressed by his honesty and sincerity. I want a job done right the first time, don't get me wrong, but I also really value customer service and honesty. Called in due two deep dented garage door panels with a snapped gear in my 15-year-old garage door motor. Within a week, I was able to get Tatiana onsite to review the damage and then shortly after, Brian to come out to replace the entire door and motor. Brian was very professional and knowledgeable about garage doors and motors. It only took roughly 2 hours - I observed the entire process and could definitely tell that he has been doing this for years. He was informative throughout the installation and made sure he had my permission to make any tweaks or adjustments that were out of the ordinary due to my garage door opening not being built evenly. Tatiana made a scheduling mistake and I had to rush home on an unscheduled day to meet Brian to install my new door. Because of that, I was initially going to deduct a star but in the end, the company went above and beyond to take care of me. Despite the mistake, Tatiana was very professional and extremely helpful throughout the process. She answered almost every single call I made via mobile. Mistakes happen in all companies, and Might Garage Door handled it very well. Brian did have to come back to replace a new panel that had a small dent during shipping. So I called MGD around 8-9AM. The individual I spoke with said they could get somebody out to my place around 11-12 the same day to do a install of a garage door opener that I purchased on my own. They quoted me $135 for the job. Tim showed up to my place around 10:30 while I was running an errand and gave me no grief about not being at home. I was on the way back, so it wasn't more than a few minutes wait for him. Tim was very professional, took a quick look at the mess that we had waiting for him - i.e. the garage door opener that I thought I could install myself and had taken out of the box already. He got to work right away and about an hour later, the new opener was installed and he was getting rid of the old one for us. He event went so far as to help us quiet our garage door by applying some WD40 (obviously something we could do) but I appreciated that he didn't give me some BS answer when I asked about the garage door rollers (if they were the culprit to the loud noise). All in all, I was very pleased with the service that MGD provided and Tim was very professional and pleasant to deal with. Originally thinking it may be a spring that had failed, TJ arrived on time and ready to fix the spring. It turned out there was rubbing on the left rail that sheered the cable completely off at the panel and bolt along with damaging the cable. The situation was quickly assessed and explained to me. She came out to assess my garage door situation and was very friendly and courteous. She gave me an estimate via email which was very reasonable. And even though there was a problem with the new garage door being delayed 1 week because of the distributor, they came out the following week and did an excellent job installing the new garage door and opener, and hauled away the old one. And, our garage is a non-standard size with low ceiling in one part of the garage ceiling. So, excellent installation and great customer service. The only glitch was that we got the plain windows instead of the crossed windows, but Tatiana came out the next day after the installation to install the crossed windows. He showed up on time and it only took him about 20 minutes to manually open the garage door, install a new override lock and replace my clicker. It's the worst feeling in the world when u arrive home at night and your garage door fails to open. Keying in I found the spring had finally failed after who knows how long and both drums's cables were slack. I called Mighty Garage Doors, having found them through a most positive reviews search here, at 8AM and they had someone out to my home not long after. When Brian showed up he was incredibly professional and reviewed my options. I could either service the spring and drums, or replace the entire garage door in addition to those repairs. Pricing was significantly less than Lowes or Home Depot and I figured I might as well update the look of the house (something I'd been considering for a while). Brian arrived the next day right on time, replaced the drums and spring, in addition to tracks, installed a brand new door (with windows! what an upgrade) and sealed any gaps in the structure. All in all he replaced everything but the motor (and motor track) including labor for the cost of a garage door with windows from Lowes or Home Depot. Mighty Garage Doors provides the most exceptional customer service, response time, and attention to detail during installation I've yet to experience from anyone in the home repair field.
