    A very cozy steakhouse with a prime location! Make sure to make reservations because they do get busy and it makes sense- great food, service and ambiance! So for their menu, they really only have one thing and it's the steak frites. You can also get it vegan/vegetarian. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare (as requested) and super juicy. The sauce was very savoury. The fries were super crispy and nice. Everything was perfect with their steak dish! They also have a number of appies to choose from but the steak comes with an entree like soup of the day (delicious) or salad. You end the meal with a dessert of the day and on our day it was profiteroles. Not too sweet! Service was great as well, very attentive and they have a fun giant pepper grinder. The space is cozy so please be sure to reserve!

    Loved this place. Cosy little place Our waiter was so nice. The ginger and carrot cream soup was really tasty. The steak was cooked to my medium rare liking . The unique thing about this place is that there's only 1 type of steak, that comes with the signature sauce. You can also tell them to put the sauce on the side. They also have different types of appetizers And they offer mushroom steak for ppl that dont eat meat. I fell in love with the bar, so pretty Would definitely recommend this place to everyone

This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. For my appetizer, I ordered the French onion soup. I've said before that certain restaurants have the "best" one, but this version may actually take the crown. It wasn't oily, and it was perfectly topped with a generous, melty layer of cheese--the way French onion soup should be. I followed that with the Gibbys salad and a 12-ounce filet. I love a good filet, and this one hit the mark. My husband went for the lamb with the wedge salad and enjoyed both thoroughly. By the end, we were far too stuffed for dessert, so we called it a night. If you're looking to splurge on a memorable, romantic dinner in Montreal, Gibbys is the place to go

Asparagus is cold, and the cheese sauce on top is cold too. Maybe it's supposed to be cold? But it is weird to serve as a side of a meat course.

We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. We started out with the Dumplings facon shish barak - 10/10. This starter was outstanding. Our main dish was the rack of lamb - 10/10. This dish was phenomenal. The flavor of the lamb paired with the eggplant and tahini sauce was amazing. For dessert we had the Kunafa - 8/10. Great dessert, but a bit too sweet for me. Our waiter was good, however he did forget to bring us another appetizer we ordered. By the time we realized our appetizer wasn't coming we told him about it, and he said there was a miscommunication on the order. So, at that point we just told him not to bring it. Overall, I would definitely try this place out. Their food is really great!

Had large pieces of squid and whelks. I'm usually not a risotto guy, but this was good. Only feedback I had on this dish was I felt it was a bit too salty. Duck in a Can (8/10) - this was one of their marquee entrees. The whole entree came in a can they opened table side and presented onto the dish.
