White Duck was founded by a couple of Seattle transplants, who wanted to bring the "two windows in a shed" model of Pacific Northwest coffee shops to the Bay Area. And that's exactly what this is-a drive thru-no indoor seating-and I didn't see any outdoor tables, either. This is grab and go. But there's parking behind the building, if you want to sit and savor a bit. The shop is way up on North Dale Mabry-near Van Dyke-on the east side, right next to a Wendy's. It wasn't busy when I first got there but there at 8:30 on a Wednesday morning, but it soon picked up. I can see why... it's so convenient and the staff is so nice. They really stand out. I can't wait to stop in again and try more! I read on the website that the owners lost a child to cancer and part of the proceeds from each purchase goes to research. Medium iced nonfat caramel latte came to $5.83 and I tipped a dollar since the employee was out in the blazing sun taking orders. I let the employee know that it was my first time being there and since I was unable to see the menu I asked a couple of questions. Caramel latte is pretty good. It's not very sweet, but most of the caramel is on the bottom of the cup. Overall, their drinks are priced pretty closely to Starbucks. They've become popular in the area so I will definitely return and likely download the app to start earning rewards.
