We're so glad we got James for our wedding! He was very well organized and communicative from the beginning, and was not pushy about curating a certain vibe. He listened to what we wanted but also offered his experience . For example, during planning, we were dead set on having a "last hour" EDM set, with a curated mix with mashups, remixes, edits, etc., but James graciously communicated that it's difficult in a wedding environment, as it's more about keeping guests dancing and engaged than "performing", as a EDM DJ normally would at a show or club. This was something we really appreciated. He was an absolute ace during the wedding ceremony and reception. My husband, Miguel and I, had James Lee DJ and MC our wedding in April of 2024. Although, I have seen James DJ at four family weddings, my husband had never seen James before. My husband and I interviewed a couple of DJ's before James. After our interview my husband said his first impression of James was that he was very professional, competent and very knowledgeable about his craft. My husband said the minute James shared his screen with us and showed us how he organizes the day-of, he knew James was going to be our DJ. We signed the agreement with James that day, and made an initial payment. I essentially planned our entire wedding; however, James really helped us think about so many different considerations that we would not have thought about. He really removed the burden of having to create our own day-of timeline. At the wedding, James worked with our coordinator to make sure our day ran smoothly and on schedule. This was not an easy task since we had 330 guests. He helped control the crowd, and kept the overall vibe of the wedding positive and energetic. My husband is Mexican-American and I am Japanese-American and it was important to us to have someone who would be respectful towards both cultures, so we really appreciated James taking the time to correctly pronounce our bridesmaids and groomsmen's names. Prior to the wedding, we gave James only general vision of the music we wanted to hear that night. He more than delivered by playing music that was appropriate for all generations, sensitive to both cultures, and overall played music that everyone enjoyed and also nailed it on the Spanish music. My husband and I can honestly say that James was one of the BEST parts of our wedding! Music was a huge deal as we began our search for our wedding DJ. Having come from a DJ background himself, my husband made it a point to find a DJ who could demonstrate smooth transitions and a confident presence on the mic.
