After 33 years, my well (White Lake, MI) began to fail. At first, it was just hearing the pump…read morekick in at odd moments, when there was no water demand. It was infrequent, and water pressure and quantity were unchanged. I called the company that installed my well and explained the situation. They were too busy to come out and recommended I contact Flemming Well Company (first good sign). Me. Flemming (it's a generational family business, started by their Father, now run by Robert, his Brother and his Son) came to my home, checked my system, tank, filters, softener, ground around my well, and explained it could be a failing well pump, casing leak, or other very expensive issues. He asked if I was bothered by the infrequent running of the pump, I said not really, and he recommended I wait to do anything until water pressure or quality deteriorated. It was several months later that the pumps running became almost constant. I called Mr. Flemming and he explained what he had predicted might happen, had occurred, and offered me immediate options, including his recommendation, to inspect the well pump. I agreed. Mr. Flemming explained what he would be doing (extracting my well pump) and also what else may be discovered (and the costs I might incur, worst case). He also advised me to prepare for no water by filling containers with water to flush toilets and wash dishes. He recommended filling bath tubs, and household containers At 9:00 AM, as promised, his Brother and Son arrived with their derrick truck and compressor. I watched the entire process, not a movement or moment wasted. It was not unlike watching a well rehearsed ballet as they turned off electrical power, shut off the water valve into my home, removed the well cap, raised the derrick and proceeded to pull all 100 feet of piping, seal, and pump from my well. They then connected PVC pipe to my steel pipe, lowered it back to the bottom of my well, sealed the well cap, hooked their compressor to the pipe and pressurized my well, witnessing tbe water discharged for gallons per minute and clarity. Next, they uncoupled the compressor, removed all the pipe, assembled the new well pump and installed the wired pump and new piping back into the well. When complete, they attached a hose to the water inlet inside my house, turned on power to the new pump and flushed the well. They set the pressure on my pressure tank and the electrical controller that determines when the pump turns on. When the flushing was complete, they turned off the flushing valve, removed the hose, opened the valve into my home system and pressurized my home. They explained my flushing air out of my faucets, tubs, showers, washing machine. Loaded all of their equipment, picked up any used materials, explained what to expect and assured me they welcomed any questions, presented my bill (thousands less than worst case) and departed. My 5 star rating is not only for their completed work, but for their willingness to provide me continuing explanations of the process, from initial problem discovery, to successful resolution. I highly recommend Flemming Well Drilling.

He told us that he worked for the city and that it was against city ordinance but that it wasn't a big deal. That's when we saw he was wearing a Fleming well and drill shirt... Which was a competitor of his company of who's sign I had in my front yard. He pretended he couldn't hear and crumpled it up and threw it in the back of his truck. I called the city to make sure. And it's not against city ordinance to have a sign in my front yard which is private property. And he was not described as the man who would able to do so. The woman from the city assured me having any sign in my front yard was not against city ordinance. I typically wouldn't care. But he lied about working for the city and clearly was just trying to take out a competitor of his. Not right at all

After reviewing both…read moreGoogle and Yelp reviews for well contractors in the area we settled on Wyckoff Well Drilling based on all the positive reviews where Google is a 5 star average! I called the business at 7:30 am, a time that most businesses of this nature were closed and was surprised to reach a human voice on the other end end. Seeing that we were literally out of water and in a lurch the owner, Robert, was able to juggle his full schedule and was get to our house less than an hour after contacting him. Upon arrival Robert was able to quickly diagnose our issue as a failed pressure switch and had parts on hand to effect the repair all within an hours timeframe. The service call with labor and parts came to $140 which was very very reasonable in my mind. I truly expected it to be much more due to all the price gouging I have seen in this area in the past and definately did not expect to be up and running again within 2 hours of my original call. Nice! Throughout the process Robert and his grandson Trevor were super friendly and explained what was going on throughout the process showing great patience with my questions as he went about the business of the repair. During the repair process he identified that the pressure switch had failed as a result of my 35 year old pressure tank being near end of useful life where the bladder was clearly starting to fail. He explained to me that we could get a few more years out of my old tank but the tradeoff was that my well pump which is also 35 years old was getting cycled way more than it should which could lead to a an earlier failure of that key component which would be a much more expensive repair on the order of $3500. At no point did he pressure me to replace the pressure tank but instead provided key data/information I needed to make an informed decision all the while stating I could push this tank replacement off maybe a couple more years. Being a retired engineer I appreciated both his honesty and candor where he presented the facts/data which is the way all contractors should act and most dont and let me make up my own mind where I decided to proceed with the replacement of the pressure tank in order to extend the life of my old more expensive well pump which he did two days later. No over the top pressure tactics here and the usual scare tactics that contractors like use. Again nice! Overall I was completely satisfied with the work he did on my well system and how he handled his business. Reasonable cost, first class work and a friendly demeanor are hard to beat in my book and I will definately contacting him for any well issues I have in the future. Five stars in my book.
