I was so angry then she called me the next day to say someone canceled come on in. I arrive only to find her eating then she starts my hair she braids it so tight and im telling her it's too tight now I have bumps all over my neck and all around my edges in one braid is hanging on by a strand and this is only day two I like, because I kept making comments about how tight it was she purposely made it tighter. I have never been in so much pain from getting my hair braided I will never and I never go there again not only is a place filthy. It's just very unprofessional, they use the same combs from head to head, it's just filthy. I'm very disappointed.. and to be clear when I went several times prior to this a young lady by the name of Zana did my hair and she was very professional and did a fabulous job. That's why I kept coming back but as of late, I haven't seen her, but don't worry I will find someone, I'm sure of it, choose wisely consumer. This location is at 1436 Washington St. in Rosendale Square. They moved from the old location very disappointed. Wish I could get my money back.

Binta Africa(n) Hair Braiding in Roslindale, MA is the worst, most unprofessional place to get your…read morehair braided. Yes, the salon is convenient, there is always parking, its T accessible, they always have availability, and the braids last BUT they are unnecessarily rough with your hair- from blow drying to the braiding they act as if they are practicing on a hair mannequin. Do not even bother asking them to braid gently, they do not respect this request at all and you will have a headache for the next three days. They will pull and tug on your hair with very little regard for your comfort. They use cheap products in your hair and get grease all over your face- prepare for a nice little breakout! I cannot forget the unsanitary conditions of the salon! I had to remind my stylist that she needed to wash her hands when she came back to finish braiding my hair after starting another client, who she had to ask what was in her hair because it was so greasy it surprised the stylist. The stylist then proceeded to feed her child Pringles as she braided my hair without thinking to wipe her hands. Which brings me to my next point, THE PLACE IS A DAYCARE! All of the stylists bring their small children to the shop, where the children climb freely on clients, scream, cry, run around, and soil their diapers- which are often changed right in front of the clients! Also, prepare to spend your entire day in the salon, they are not quick or efficient, the stylists often take breaks or tend to their children in the middle of braiding your hair. Not only is the staff rude, they are also unethical. This salon does not offer a price list and the prices change with the wind. One day box braids are $220 another day they are $150 (I did bring my own hair that time but a few packs of braiding hair does not equate to a $70 price difference), some times getting the front of your hair re-braided costs $50 other times it costs $85-$90 (I did not bring hair with me either time). If you absolutely must get your hair braided there, and there are many other hair braiding salons in Boston and the surrounding areas, do yourself a favor and call ahead to get a price quote. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!

I told her she was unprofessional and that washing should be included. Michelle used derogatory language towards me. Michelle's behaviors raises questions about professionalism within the hair industry. I believe it's important for clients to be aware of such behavior before deciding to use her services.
