Friendly plumber, but I would consider overpriced. I was charged $140.00 to snake a kitchen sink drain. The worse part of the experience is that work was commenced before offering an estimate or proposed amount for what the charges would be. This is not professional in my opinion, and my hope is that this would be corrected. My wife and I had a problem with our line to the septic tank, one of our bathrooms kept backing up. We called Mike and he repaired the problem, on two different occasions. Finally it was time to do something more permanent. Mike came out, assessed the problem and said it was time to replace the pipe. He quoted us a price and we gave him a thumb's up to go ahead and get'er done. Mike said he would be back in a week and he would be able to do a little each morning and it would take 3 or 4 days. I owned my new home for 2 days when the shower valves went bad. I could not stop the water dripping. I called Mike in the middle of the night he called me back at 7am and was able to come immediatley so I could close the house up and go back to Los Angeles. We needed a new swamp cooler and due to the way our old cooler was installed, it turned out toe be a much bigger and more complicated job than usual. Young Mike gave us a bid that was competitive and even with having to bring in a roofer for additional repairs and an electrician to deal with rewiring the new cooler, he still managed to come in a few hundred dollars less than the bid. Over the years I have dealt with many plumbers, some good, some not so good and very few that I would actually recommend to anyone. Mike Reynolds is definitely the exception. I called him on a Sunday and we made an appointment for first thing Monday morning to repair a broken pipe to my outside hose bibb. He offered to have someone come out right away, but I declined. He came out at 8am on the dot, called before he showed up, gave me several options, quoted a fair price and got the job done in a timely manner. Hey, called Mike the Plummer shop and got Mike himself. Had a stopped-up drain and was afraid I may need plumbing system repair but Mike straight-away took the direct route and cleared the drain with a simple 10-minute auger fix without complications. The bill of $85 included the service fee, which is pretty standard around here. I feel confidant now to contact him again for other situations that may develop. read more

I had just purchased a new house in Landers on 5 January 2018. The last thing I needed was a plugged drain, with effluent flowing from the toilet to the master shower. I called the home warranty company and three days and three referrals later, they sent out a poorly-rated plumber out from Apple Valley. This guy had broken equipment (the "snake") and needed to purchase a new one from Harbor Freight. Hours later he returned, only to say he couldn't clear the drain, even after putting 90 feet down. Nothing else could be done except to "dig the drain out", as I was told by my home warranty company. Absolutely refusing to send another plumber out for a second opinion (of course, digging the drain out would not be covered), I decided to call Mike the Plumber. Within a couple of hours, Brad arrived with a good sense of humor and the willingness to get the job done no matter what. Brad was outstanding, and, with his expertise, he was able to clear whatever was blocking the drain, then ran a lot of water to flush it out (he was unable to determine what item was the culprit). From here on, I will be bypassing the home warranty company and call Mike the Plumber for future plumbing services. We have never met smiling Mike, but Tim who works for Mike has been our plumber for a number of jobs throughout the remodel of our old 1963 home, which had a lot of challenges and problems. Tim has got to be the most pleasant, clean, polite and professional plumber that we have ever used and he really, really knows his stuff and is always and up for a challenge. The second time that we used Mike the Plumber was on a Friday afternoon around 2pm when we noticed that one of our old irrigation lines had rusted through and we had a major leek and had to turn our house water main off. Very expensive, over priced! Theres a flat fee of $40 on top of any labor and parts, regardless!!! Cant explain what fee is for either. I could understand if I didnt get the work done, but I did get the work done! Wont give estimates over phone. So 3 bathroom valves later cost me $200!!! And I supplied the valves!!! Mr. Reynolds recently completed some grading on the side of my home after a recent rain storm caused water to enter my home. He re-graded the ground down away from the house and out toward the front yard. There was some damage to the fence due to the tight quarters but he paid for the repairs out of his pocket and even went into my neighbor's yard and replaced some bricks that had fallen down during the digging. He and his crew showed up daily worked hard, cleaned up at the end of each day and ultimately got the job done.
