Mike Vincent was the best wedding DJ. He was very organized, friendly and professional. We had our wedding at a hotel in Sonoma. He provided wireless hidden mics for the ceremony and a mic for the toasts. Every time I talk to one of my friends they say how good our DJ was. He was fun and appropriate, not overbearing. He was very classy in his tux. He didn't try to be the center of attention. He did a great job keeping the wedding and reception flowing. He played all of our requested special dance songs. He had DJed several weddings for friends and he does an excellent job of the following: 1) making the bride and groom feel special, 2) playing the right toons to get the crowd on the dance floor, 3) making the elements of the wedding fun including the first dances, cake cutting, garder and flower tosses. I recently had the pleasure of seeing Mike Vincent in action while he DJ'd for Benicia's Relay for Life.. I have never been so impressed with a DJ before.. He has the best personality, voice, presence and skills I have ever seen.. He was definitly born to do this line of work.. Where to even start..MVP is hands down the most amazing and phenomenal entertainer you can have at your event. My husband and I were referred to him by our vendor, Brown Stone Gardens for our 9/13/13 wedding. It was after hearing their wonderful remarks and doing some research online for reviews like this one that we agreed to have him DJ our wedding..I use the term "DJ" loosely, as MVP is much more than a DJ, he's truly entertainment in all respects. Truth be told, we actually didn't meet MVP until the day of our wedding. My husband had a job relocation earlier this year and we couldn't make it to meet in person to run through things beforehand. As a busy bride, you can imagine this did make me a wee bit nervous..The music is one of the hugest things at a wedding next to the food and the venue. MVP had the solution to skype which worked beautifully. We agreed to a day and time and he was there right on the mark--very professional. He answered ALL of our questions on that skype session and ensured that the vision we had would become a reality. More importantly, he got to know us which made such a difference and really reflected through at the wedding. The cherry on top was that he adored our Golden Retriever Jake who was also trying to skype with him that night..Our dog actually loved MVP when he saw him before the wedding too! He has good taste like his mom and dad ;) The day of the event came and MVP was there 2 hours early setting up and ensuring everything was going as plan. He even played music for my MOH and her mom who were there setting tables for our wedding. ur crazy dog was running around smelling everything and MVP was more than happy to keep his attention so I had less to worry about! It was a really nice touch. The whole night was just so magical..Between the ceremony, the introductions and speeches, the dancing, and the whole magical feeling and ambiance of the night..It was all made possible because of the tone set by MVP. Funny enough, friends afterwards said how amazing and pumped they were all night because of his music selections and personality. They actually thought we had known MVP for years based on our interactions and how personal everything was. It made me feel good knowing our family and friends appreciated how magical he made the night just as much as we did. read more

This review is about 6 months overdue, but better than never! Mike Vincent did a friend's wedding, and I remembered him and wanted him for ours. Pros: * Mike Vincent is professional,comes in a tux, has all the equipment, and is good at what he does! Very respectful, funny, entertaining. * Was very willing to work with our limited budget and negotiate something that was helpful for us but still fair for him * Not just a DJ, but a GREAT MC. For a wedding reception, you don't just want someone who will play music, but someone who can really facilitate the party. He did just that. * He got all our guests out on the dance floor, with people having an amazing time! Great mix of party dance music and got all ages out there--from old folks to younger ones etc. * He puts in extra time to meet up and go over all the different aspects of the party. He's like a mini reception coordinator in terms of having a good grasp of wedding protocol and culture. He is a veteran at what he does. * Our actual wedding reception coordinator had a really easy time working with him day of. * He always was available for last minute changes and available to talk over the phone. * He thinks through programming and uses music choice almost as a tool to make sure everyone has a good time. Didn't play annoying cheesy wedding music like YMCA or We are Family. He made sure to ask our music choice but made suggestions to make sure we catered to old people too. Things to consider: * We had some specific instructions for things like our traditional "tea ceremony" and our "football garter toss."However, Mike forgot that the ceremony was supposed to be private and made it public for the whole reception. Not that big a deal, but was a miss in communication. Also, he forgot that the garter toss was supposed to be a surprise and announced it. If you have a lot of particularities, you need to communicate these things extra explicitly or it might get lost in details. * I requested several specific songs that weren't played during the evening. Final word: Go with him if you want to have a really fun party, ESPECIALLY if you just need someone to make the night go well. He's good for old people, young people etc. He really knows how to create a party atmosphere and is willing to work with you. He will give his suggestions if he thinks what you want to do will detract from the party atmosphere. I suggest doing what he says because he's had way more years of experience than any of us who are getting married for the first time. For our price, Mike Vincent was SO worth it. Call him to negotiate a price, because he's really good to work with! There was so much that went into his job than just playing music, and he literally worked ALL night. Mike was our DJ at our wedding in July 2014. Such an all around fun, professional, nice, great guy/DJ. He was recommended to us by our venue Brownstone Gardens. Whenever someone (who knows MVP's work) asked us who are DJ was, they were speechless when we told them it was going to be Mike. They said we got the best in the business. We met before the wedding to go over details. We felt so confident in him and his ideas. He was very organized and was so helpful with a timeline of events. The DJ and your coordinator really are the voice of your event. The music and DJ can really make or break your event. He did a wonderful job and we could not be happier we were able to have such an awesome DJ, so organized and knew exactly what he was doing. He played all the songs we wanted him to and more, took our cues, and worked around our unexpected toasters. He worked our ceremony music along with our reception music. It was nice to have one less thing to worry and stress about on my wedding day. I would totally recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ. He's professional, organized, fun, and nice. We used Mike as our DJ for our wedding. He was SO MUCH FUN! He definitely knows how to get the party going, but also knows when to keep it classy. I wanted to walk down the aisle to "Stolen" by Dashboard Confessional, but the acoustic version since the original is too fast. However, the acoustic version opens up with talking and clapping. I wanted to start with the guitar intro, but then there are a bunch of words that were not important and I wanted to skip to the "you have stolen my heart" lyric. Sound confusing? It was!! But Mike was able to splice the song for me so it started with the guitar intro and went right into "you have stolen my heart." It flowed so perfectly that when I explained to everyone what he had done for me, their response was always "really? I didn't notice I just thought that's how the song went." He arrived very early, played all the songs on our very eclectic request list (my husband is a big 80's buff, and he even played Richard Cheese for me at the cocktail hour), including my in-laws song from their first dance at their wedding - a request I had as a gift to them, which they very much appreciated. His attention to detail helped our night run as smoothly and perfectly as it could have. I very highly recommend him for any of your DJ needs! read more
