He is and will be my most recommended YELP review for 2014 and 2015! I bought one of those fixer-upers type of house and now I realize what I got into! I have had Mike and his great assistant Teddy to my house 4 times upon my new move to the desert. He has done everything from paint rooms/ re-paint rooms, remove debris, re-paint MORE rooms, fix doors, put up ceiling fans, re-put up more ceiling fans and fix electrical outlets.. (the list goes on and on..) THIS GUYS DOES IT ALL. ((and with a smile)) When I have guests over they always love the different type of ceiling fans I had put up.. I had him install 9 ( YES, NINE) ceiling fans!!!!!! YUP, This house is that large and my ceilings are 12' feet! Talk about an obstacle course! He was very "matter of fact" and you didn't feel like he was pulling your leg or getting you to spend more money which most of the handymen in the valley are known for. Best part about why you should hire mike: He was extremely confident, professional and ON TIME. He had a spread sheet emailed to me with in 12 hours and gives a free estimate. I am not kidding you when I tell you he can do it all. From hanging a picture to a custom remodel, this is your guy. I love that he sent a spread sheet and estimate on the break down of pricing and you know exactly what you are spending, how much time it will take etc.. everything you were getting into. IT WAS SUCH A RELIEF TO SEE AN ITEMIZED LIST!! Definitely the most professional handyman in the business. I have had Mike work on several jobs for me now and every single time the finish was absolutely perfect. Today I had an appt at 3pm for an estimate on painting. Mike told me to text him when I was on the way to the property as he would be a few minutes away. I texted(twice) and called leaving him a voicemail ... still no response 8 hours later. Typical Palm Springs contractor disregard for other people's time. Mike is THE nicest guy. Very reasonable rates and is ok with just doing part of a job if you want to save money and finish it yourself! (My hubby is a DIY guy but some things he just can't do or doesn't have the tools for). No job is too small for Mike. I did not have a good experience with Mike. I paid him to do some work which he did not do. He performed exterior painting at my rental house in PS which was to include painting the front door. He did not paint the front door and said that had not been included. He said if I sent him another $30 he would swing by and paint the front door. So I did put another $30 into his bank account as instructed to do. He never came back to paint the front door. Several texts from him said he would go back "tomorrow" I had to do it myself but I lost $30. Not much to lose, but the principle of charging for work that you don't do should be recognized. read more

Mike completed several projects in my condo, all within the allotted time and budget. He repaired water damaged walls, replaced several fixtures in both bathrooms and built a cabinet, that matched my existing cabinets, above my refrigerator in the kitchen. I had Mike do work for me, while I was working out of town, Mike sent photos of his work. I did not see the work until I came to town just the photos, sadly the work was not as contracted. I paid to have my place painted and this included prep work. Not a hole was filled, the work has many unsightly paint runs, and spots with poor coverage. He was not sure how to properly hang the 600.00 bifold doors for my laundry area. He did not contact me, but chose to hang them improperly adding molding to hide a gap where the doors close, and it didn't help, and it caused holes in the doors. He mis-drilled for a door knob and left a hole in my door. He sent me photos that showed none of this. He hung new lights and left holes in my ceiling with no attempt to repair the holes. He left all of the trash in my place, and lastly he lost my keys. I am very sorry that things worked out this way, but I would never recommend Mike, or use his services again. read more

Mike and his main assistant, Teddy, did several jobs for us in Indio this past fall: installing crown molding, installing French Doors, installing kitchen cabinetry, installing LED lighting, and setting up garage storage, among other things. His prices are fair, he kept good communication, and carpentry skills are a strong point for the two of them. We will definitely use them again if we need more work done. read more

Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to experience Mike's handiwork as an estimate was promised to me and it has been a few weeks and I called HIM to follow up. I'm not sure why but I can only assume since my home is under $500,000 maybe he didn't think I could afford it? I don't know. I just spent $10,000 on my pool tile/replaster and inherited a house in Rancho Mirage. Kind of odd to lose business when the one home I inherited needs at least $100,000 worth of work before I sell it. I had a small job with some very challenging circumstances around it. A water leak in my unit ruined some drywall on my neighbor's unit below. Mike had to deal with me (clueless about what work needed to be done), the tenant (who was extremely concerned about mold from the leak) and the owner of the unit (who demanded the work be done properly and the tenant be satisfied.) Plus, I'm only there in Palm Springs part time. Mike navigated all of these challenges expertly, professionally and with amazing patience! Mike and his paint team painted our home. The did a great job, they were neat, and finished the job in a timely fashion. Mike kept us informed of everything that was going on. The job was finished on time and each day after they were done working they cleaned up so we were not inconvenienced at all. When they were completely finished they put all the switch plate covers, which they had cleaned, back on and replaced the door knobs. First of all, he actually called back, which is rare here in the Coachella Valley.
