The fuel pump on my 2011 Polaris Sportsman cracked and needed to be replaced, not an easy job for a mechanically challenged person like me. I was quoted $1,200 by Austin Motorsport and Advantage Powersports, which seemed very expensive. I dropped it off at Mike's late on a Friday afternoon, and he called the following Monday to say the job was completed for $500! Mike does great work at a great price and is a very down-to-earth guy. read more

Have had both my Polaris ATV and Harley Road King worked on & serviced here. Very reasonable prices, excellent work and just, if not more important to me, extremely honest with what needs to be done and what doesn't need to be done. Mike's is the only place I'll do business with my two machines described above. I had a pretty extensive (to me anyway) bit of work done lately on my old bike as the original fuel injection system crapped out after 24 years. This is not uncommon for this system and Mike suggested a swap out of that with a new Mikuni 32 carb. He explained everything to me so I could make an informed decision and so I agreed. It runs better than it did when I rolled out of the dealership brand new in 2000. Due to my dual careers I worked in life, I'm just not a very trusting guy but I'll tell you what, I trust Mike to work on anything I have as I know it will be done right, at a fair price and he'll be 100% honest with me on the work needed. I took my motorcycle in to have the front tire mounted and balanced. I got the bike back rode it home 4 miles and parked it in the garage. It's been raining all week and I went to take it out on Sunday only to find out I had a flat. Tried airing the tire up and two issues. The valve stem just spins in the rim because it was the wrong diameter for the hole. The second issue was the person who installed the valve stem cracked it during install. Charged me $100 to install my own tire. I couldn't ride the bike back down to the shop so I had to order a special hex tool to remove the wheel myself. I called the shop and they acted like it wasn't a big deal that this happened. Even went as far as to say there isn't different valve stem diameters. Well hate to break it to you there are 0.453, 0.625, 0.302, 0.406 and 0.486. Just the way he talked to me made me realize I don't want to support this small business. I took my wheel to Freedom Cycle in Grandview who took my tire off, installed a steel valve stem, balanced and gave me a discount for all the trouble I went through. If you can't get a tire right I'd hate to have you doing anything mechanical. I'm glad this didn't happen while I was riding. Maybe consider being nice to your customers. No customers = no business. read more

I would highly recommend Mike's 71 Cycle to anyone. The have serviced all three of the Harley's I have had.The turnabout is faster than most Harley dealers and you can't beat their prices. I buy all my tires from them, parts for my Harley and all my regular checkups are done there. I purchased the armrest that Mike suggested I get and everyone wants to know where I got them. They offer more selections than most Harley dealers.Not only that, it is a fun place to visit Mike is very helpful and can fix anything. read more

To give a better idea of the value of the work done I'll try to add pictures and explain what happened further. I had banged up my truck and being a newer truck I took it to the dealership where I had bought it for an estimate, I explained that I was trying to not use my insurance if possible, they said paintless repair wasn't possible, and estimate about $1300 bare bones, several days to do and would need to repaint bedside. I went to a second shop, recommended by insurance at this point, their estimate was $2900, same as the first, adding replace bumper and replace taillight, both were scuffed. Getting discouraged at this point so I stopped at Dent Solutions on my way home, they looked it over, weren't afraid of the complicated body lines where the damage was and the price was about one tenth of the higher estimate and far less than my deductible.
