The bikes are really good quality. Nice condition, good colors and paint, no rust and functional with no issues. I requested an extra lock because we sometimes we use them separately verses riding together- and you want to keep them secure all the time ! They use Cloud 9 seats- big and comfortable- perfect for those long adventures on the bike trails all over the island. I did interact with customer service they were super friendly and helpful. I would say HHBC is one of the best bike rental companies on the island and we have been coming here 39 years. I would not hesitate to use them again they are excellent- give them a try next time and check to see about any discounts.

This place was the closest option and was even walkable from our hotel, which made it super convenient. I originally wanted to rent a regular bike without any power assistance, but apparently my only option was an electric bike. I was definitely uncomfortable at first since it was my first time riding one, but after a little while I got the hang of it and honestly would recommend giving it a chance. The pedal assist ended up making the rides a lot more enjoyable, especially in the heat. We ended up riding close to 30 miles over two days and got to see so much more of the island than we would have if we had just driven everywhere. We were told the bikes could even glide across the sandy beach if we wanted to try that, but the sun was just too intense for us to attempt it. We rented the bikes for 24 hours, and the total came out to over $100. The bikes themselves had a range of around 50 miles, which was more than enough for exploring. The owner still personally runs the business, and he was incredibly pleasant and sweet. I always love supporting small businesses, especially ones that make your vacation experience even better.

Was uncomfortable until we stopped at the Avocado Bike Shop and they fixed it. After 13 miles my battery died and had to ride 3.5 miles back to the shop with a heavy dead bike. They are supposed to go 30-35 miles... I turned it in as my friends continued with their ride for 2 more hours. Owner insisted on a full refund. Again, super nice people! Second, I called and they told me pleasantly where they were....but when we went to that spot... no bikes with "Vacation Comfort Rentals". Third, we called, and I was told profusely that they HAD to be outside the gate (where we were). Then spoke to the one who delivered, "I delivered them personally and your 5 bikes are outside the gate." While on call, my husband and kids are roaming the property searching for them. They found them inside the gate...guy on phone, " oh yeah, I had 2 orders and left one inside"...no apologies for our hour locating bikes. Fourth, we finally hope on to ride...within 1/4 mile 3 of the seats would NOT stay up (mind you...we've done 20-30 mile trail rides for 15+ years...we know how a seat clamp works). Ond bike then locks up and the back wheel won't turn". Fifth...we call AGAIN, now 2 hours into our adventure and 1/4 mile from condo. They will bring us 4 NEW bikes. Guaranteed to work.... My husband and I get frustrated. 3 people have grease on them, we call and try to get a refund....Nope! They absolutely won't budge. Six...they bring the NEW bikes. Which arent new at all. Lady was very nice do we set off again... it works, but it's getting late, so we cut our ride short. Seven next day we ride again. My daughter is having trouble steating out each time she has to come to a complete stop. We just assume ots her...then I'm riding behind her and notice... the pedals are going 5 full revolutions before chain engages!!! They bring us a new bike AGAIN. No refunds, no discounts for inconvenience, no apologies...guy starts telling me that it was our fault for the first few cslls... because we couldnt find the bikes in the spot they told us, which is NOT where they were. Anyway...old bikes, not just no customer service, but mean customer service, expect issues. They do give you "another" (not NEW OUT OF THE WAREHOUSE) bike each time you have an issue.

I would strongly caution families against renting from this company based on our experience…read more We paid approximately $1,400 to rent two 26-passenger golf carts for three days on Hilton Head Island. We had six grandchildren with us, all under the age of nine, so safety was extremely important to us. The carts would only travel approximately 20 mph on roads with 35 mph speed limits, meaning we had traffic traveling significantly faster than us while we were carrying six young children. With each additional passenger, the carts became even slower. We were never made aware of this limitation when we rented the carts. Had we been told that we would be expected to drive these carts on 35-mph roads while only being able to travel around 20 mph, we absolutely would not have spent $1,400 on them. One of the carts was so slow that it had to be exchanged. The company refused to come to us, so we had to drive the extremely slow cart back ourselves to get it exchanged. After experiencing the carts firsthand, we immediately raised our concerns with the company. We explained that we had six small grandchildren with us and that we considered the situation unsafe. We wanted to return the carts after the first day and receive a refund for the remaining two days. The assistant manager told us they were not empowered to make that decision, so we repeatedly tried to reach the general manager, Lisa. This is where the customer service became completely unacceptable. Lisa would not return our calls. She would not speak with us. She would not acknowledge our safety concerns. We were not asking for a refund because we simply changed our minds. We were asking for help after determining that the carts were not appropriate for the roads we needed to travel and that we did not feel comfortable putting our six grandchildren in that situation. A company can disagree with a customer about a refund. That's business. But when a customer raises a legitimate safety concern involving six children, the general manager should at the very least have the professionalism to return the call and address it. Instead, we felt that once they had our $1,400, our concerns were no longer their problem. There was also no transparency about how golf-cart-friendly Hilton Head actually is for these particular carts. We were left feeling that the limitations should have been clearly explained before we committed to a very expensive three-day rental. The bottom line: * Approximately $1,400 for three days * Carts traveling only around 20 mph on 35-mph roads * Six children under nine traveling with us * One cart was excessively slow and needed to be exchanged * The company would not come to exchange it * We had to drive the slow cart back ourselves * We raised serious safety concerns * We requested to return the carts after one day and receive a refund for the remaining two * The assistant manager could not authorize a solution * The general manager, Lisa, would not return our calls or address the situation The carts themselves were disappointing, but the complete lack of concern from management was the biggest problem. If you are a family considering spending this kind of money on a golf-cart rental, ask very specific questions about actual speed, passenger load, the roads you will be driving on, and what happens if you determine the carts aren't safe for your situation. We paid a substantial amount of money and expected reasonable customer service when we raised a safety concern. Instead, we felt ignored and stuck with the rental after the company had our money. We will never rent from this company again, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend them to other families.

This is the second year in a row that we have rented from Paradise for our bikes. We have our own…read morebikes and could have schlepped them all the way down to Hilton Head for our fall break but it is so nice not having to mess with that. Our bikes are always where they should be upon arrival. And this year I completely spaced that we forgot the kids' helmets but the owner was awesome and just threw in a couple at no charge. One request would be to tune up the bikes a bit. I'm not sure if it was because of the off season but both my husband and I had bikes that struggled a bit and mine had a bent rim around the chain that made an awful clicking sound on each pedal. For the ease and convenience, you just can't beat renting bikes and Paradise Island Bikes is a great company to rent from!
