I shared this with friends later and several of them said they had the same experience. Recently, I was at a public event where that same clerk, wearing her work polo, showed up chanting racial slurs at the crowd. A random stranger I spoke to said he also had this woman make racially derogative comments at the store. I don't care what you're selling, allowing an employee to propagate hatred like this is bad for business. We won't ever go back.

Want to start by saying I do not know too much about bikes, and I am a novice at best. I called…read moreahead and the associate was very friendly and recommended I come in to test some things out and size me up with the proper frame. When I arrived I was greeted by Mike who was the same guy I spoke with over the phone. He was very straightforward but also elaborated when answering my questions. I was also impressed by his ability to help me with sincerity while also attending to other customers with no issues, not something you see often when people are working by themselves. After test riding the bike he recommended (twice) I asked about a few accessories to add on, some cosmetic and others for fitment. Mike offered great reasoning behind his suggestions and did not try selling me something overly expensive or extra that wouldn't be necessary for my style of riding. Really felt like he was trying to help me find a bike I would be able to enjoy fully. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely utilize this shop with any biking needs moving forward. Incredibly poor customer service! They were great for the sale, but not afterwards…read more We purchased a new bike from Whitman's Bike Shop with a full manufacturer's warranty. After only light usage the bike developed issues that made it unusable. When we reached out to Whitman's to bring the bike back for warranty service they said to wait while they contacted the manufacturer. A week went by with no response. We then called back and were told the same thing again. We waited some more but Whitman's still did not call back. On the last attempt, my wife was left on hold for 20 minutes and then got disconnected. She then decided to contact the manufacturer directly and spoke to someone within minutes. They worked with us and in the end determined that they would replace the bike through an authorized dealer. We asked if we could do the exchange at a different shop. Our new bike & repair shop is about an hour away, but they are professional and responsive. They got the bike in for evaluation immediately and are handling the warranty going forward. If we were luckier we would simply have gotten the bike from them to begin with. It definitely would have been less stressful. The bottom line is it doesn't matter how friendly or knowledgeable you are selling the bike if you don't follow through when there is a problem with a purchase. Delaying until the customer gives up (or the warranty expires?) hurts both your reputation and the manufacturer you are representing. It's not good business, basically like not having the warranty at all.

Don't expect anything to get done here. You have been warned....if you drop anything off here for repair, it will sit in a corner with everyone else's stuff indefinitely. And don't dare ask him for an update on when he will get to your repair because he will immediately become defensive and act like your expectations are unreasonable because of his heavy work load. In reality he's happy to attend to high margin service repairs where he's making $300 for spending 30 minutes on making adjustments to some stick figures $2,000 Trek road bike.

Stopped by yesterday to check out this newish store but they were closed. By appointment only on…read moreMonday and Tuesday. Weird. Came back today to see what it was all about. Turns out this isn't your average bike store; it's super specialized, electric bikes only. Currently the stock is pretty slim, only two brands, but more are expected down the road. They will also eventually service electric bikes. Other than a few helmets, the store didn't appear to carry anything other than bikes. From the sound of it, it might stay that way. The owner, I presume, was very friendly and helpful and answered a slew of questions about power, production, country of origin, etc. I hope they prosper. With such a slim selection, this may not be easy, but two sales a month will probably cover rent. Average price tag was $1500.
