Huge displays of out of date product. That's why when I finally reach the end of the cycle and I take them to the butcher, I want to get as much for my efforts as possible. For the last few years we have been getting less and less meat back from Yoders and it's not a coincidence or an error in calculating weight. I know how much my hogs weigh, and I know how much final meat one hog will produce, I've been at this for 20 years. The last time I took (two) 225 pound hogs to Yoders and I got a whopping 125 pounds of meat back. That's a loss of 325 pounds on the hoof. Some of that was bone, fat and head, but NOT 325 POUNDS WORTH. I will not be coming back here again and I think someone should look into where all this meat is going.
