My favorite take-out breakfast place! They cook bacon perfectly and their prices are great. I'm always a fan.

So I ordered the French toast with ham for my daughter and got scrambled eggs, rye toast and sausage.

I've driven past the State Road Deli a thousand times this past year because my friends live in one…read moreof the houses behind it. I never went into or inquired about the deli, mainly because there is a mural of a Burrito on the side of the building, and I thought it was all Mexican food they made. I love Mexican food but I was confused because of the deli sign. It all made sense once I went inside, but first, I want to explain my impression at first site. The outside is lively, with its "bright"; you can't miss the blue shade that makes the house stand out. I know this because I used it as a landmark where my turn is for my friend's house. One day, I just stopped in to grab a menu; I meant menus. Usually, when I see a restaurant with an extensive, long menu, I cringe, but this is not a restaurant. When I first walked in, it looked like a mom-and-pop grocery store. Then I saw their hot food plates, and they had Pintos & Beans, and Rice, all separate. It reminded me of when I would grab a bite on the run when I lived in Tampa; they were all good food memories, so I was pleasantly surprised and excited about ordering from them. The owner, the Chef in charge, told me breakfast was popular, and after I tried his breakfast Buritto, I understood why. Delicious!! You can order a la carte or, if brave, one of the signature breakfast burritos or sandwiches. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with extra sharp cheddar cheese, and I loved it enough to go back a second time for the pinto and beans mixed with pieces of pork, which was very yummy, and I had to try the Chicken Caesar salad. I know it's not the best combination, but I wanted to try them both, and each was very good. The salad dressing has to be up to par, or else it ruins the salad, and their Caesar salad dressing made the cut, I was very pleased. This place is a hidden gem of a deli; it has unique menu choices and something for everyone, children included. There is a short wait time because their sandwiches are not pre-made. The portions are large and always have leftovers. Prices are reasonable. So, if you're in the mood for something with a kick or without the kick with an array of options, give it a try. Make it as hot as you like or as mild as can be; it's all delicious. It's a take-out only and not wheelchair accessible because of the steps up to the door: cash or credit. The staff is friendly and helpful, and it's a plus that you can pick up items you forgot at the grocery store while you wait. They sell all the necessities, from canned goods and trash bags to pet foods. They do have clean restrooms. I do recommend the State Road Deli, and I'm looking forward to going back again.

New owner did put a new twist to the menu. There is a lot more options for breakfast and lunch.read more

The staff and the atmosphere is so inviting and down to earth and then comes the food! I was greeted with a sampler pickle board for free so I could try different things which was amazing and then I ordered the pickle soup, the fried pickles, and the pickle hoagie and I couldn't stop eating because everything was so tasty. Gabbi, the owner, shared with us her passion to serve and what they do to care for the community, which is amazing and then we had one of the best servers, Teresa, and a super nice person that checked us out as well and I'm sorry I did not get her name. Definitely make this a destination or if you're driving by your stop. You will not be disappointed!

Teresa greeted us when we walked in ( as she did for everyone that came in). We picked a table to sit at. Teresa gave us a sampling of pickle slices, with some unique flavors like green apple jolly rancher flavor! They server half pickles with toppings or hoagie pickles and pickle pizza! The pizza was so delicious! Dill pickles on a cauliflower crust with mozzarella...it blew my mind. Then had a pickle stuffed with chicken bacon ranch! WTF...so good! And not to mention the fresh fried pickles with 2 dipping sauces. This little place on the corner by the Croyden train station packs a huge punch! Awesome!!!

Take Progress until you see the Lunch Factory sign on the front glass window. Park and walk around to the side to enter. It is a little challenging to find, but don't be deterred. If you like fresh morning or afternoon sandwiches, you will appreciate the effort to go there. There are four tables in the utilitarian dining room with half glass wall separating it from the kitchen, but most people just stop in for take out. I did likewise. I ordered a Sausage, Egg and Cheese on Kaiser to introduce myself to their abilities. Everyone was friendly, even though a Covid plexiglass panel separately me from the order taker. I watched as my breakfast was prepared on the grill. Two eggs (pancaked), two patties, two slices of American cheese, fresh roll, made for a heavily loaded piece of short order master cheffing. It was a work of culinary art when unwrapped at my desk. The morning sun through the window cast its light directly of it, making it glow, like I was in for a magical experience. And, I was. It was a big bite slicing through the layers of hot ingredients and a follow through explosion of flavors. Just an awesome sandwich. Almost every kitchen makes a sandwich with these elements, but precious few can knock your socks off. I happily ate barefoot. I am putting my socks and shoes back on now after enjoying one of the best of breed morning sammies of the year.
