I prefer normal cashier driven checkout, because I do not want any issues with, "you didn't scam this"; or security. Make prices lower if you want me to be your cashier. You can't have it both ways. The normal cashier checkout line is not normally manned. There is a sign saying the line is Open, and to unload your purchases; someone will be out to assist you shortly. I unloaded my cart, and watched 6 "associates" wander past the register without saying a word over a 10 minute period. The young lady who finally came out of the office to ring me up had actually walked by me at the register twice. She was surly and mumbled/talked to herself the whole time. She ignored my greeting when she arrived and while she checked me out, her demeanor and body language let me know I was imposing upon her somehow. Add that to floors that have fresh/wet stains from dropped produce/food. Poorly stacked/stocked shelves and it becomes apparent that there is a lack of ownership or pride in this location.
