A fellow rider on his way home from the track stopped and asked if we were okay. After explaining our current mechanical situation with my Dyna to the good samaritan, he suggested that I call Tim. I explained my situation to Tim and at first he couldn't find me a lever. He explained to me that a lever from a Honda quad has the same splining and that it should work to get me to Phoenix. He then calls me back a minute later and said that he had found one in the driveway of his pad and that he was on his way. My mind was blown, this guy didn't know me at all and he was going to bring me a part so that I could could continue on my journey. He shows up ten minutes later, slaps the lever on and tells me safe travels. I shake his hand, offer him cash and a double double from In and Out. He respectfully declines and sets off on his way. Really cool guy, I'm going to make an attempt to check out his shop on my way home to San Diego in a couple of days. He called periodically to give updates on the car but did not quote beyond the work done on the ECU. He had the car for over 2 months, returned it in the same non-working condition and charged us $3000. He's abrasive, unreasonable and threatened to put a lien on the car if we didn't pay the bill. He even waited after hours on a SATURDAY for us to be picked up by family from San Diego until we finally told him he needed to go home and we'd figure it out. He still went above and beyond to drop us off at a great restaurant where we waited for our ride... and helped load and unload ALL my daughter's college luggage that we had in the car.
