They have root beer on tap. Not hard root beer. Just straight up nectar of the gods soda pop. It's fantastic. The music they play is right up my alley and the deck is massive. They have food trucks in the back which was my only complaint. There were two, both with signs out front. One was pizza, the other tacos. The pizza sign was so out in the open it was obviously available for business. Except it wasn't. I mean gotdamn I needed a pizza injected right into my arm but that wasn't in the cards. The taco truck was perfectly satisfactory except they basically refused to hit me with the hot salsa. You get two with the chips right? So I said I'd take the medium and the heat. I was told "well that's really a sauce". OK let's do it. "But it's really a sauce, not a salsa". OK let's not. Needless to say the mild salsa kinda sucked. But the place overall is fantastic and is a great drink spot in a big open back yard. Don't get the mild salsa, it will ruin your life. read more

This is a true gem of a spot in the Northeast. Free car camping with 24/7 bathrooms to start off. Add in pay to play showers, a great selection of beers at the bar, and food trucks serving up hot pies and soups, it's legit the best spot to car camp in VT. Did I mention the endless singletrack that keeps you busy riding all weekend? Do yourself a favor, load up the cooler, tune up the bike, and drive your van to Mike's tiki bar. read more

5 stars for the beer selection and the vibe, 3 stars for the mediocre food trucks (the burritos are incredibly underwhelming for starters) and 1 star for the seating. It's great that they've invested in amenities like a big patio but would it hurt to spend a few extra $ on more cheap plastic tables and chairs? Or maybe all that new & pretty open space is for square dancing? read more

This is the perfect place to finish off a day mountain biking on the kingdom trails. Stop by here with your bike and rehydrate with a cervesa. Currently cash only, but the ATM is only a five minute walk away. They have 20 beers on tap currently, with around 10 taps currently unused. There is (I think) a $4 for a beer and a shower deal. Oh, I forgot to mention that they have SHOWERS here! Yep. Wash off the exterior trail dust with the shower, and the interior with a beer or two. Thank you mike. Loved the atmosphere. Went midday for lunch from food truck. The burritos were amazing and flavorful. Food truck worker was really friendly. Went back after riding kingdom trails for some beers. Many beers were out due to end of season but we were able to find drinks that we enjoy still. The heaters were very much appreciated. read more

This is EXACTLY what a mountain bike hub needs; a great spot to chill after a day of riding featuring an excellent tap selection and a great atmosphere. Add to it the fact that they usually have something from Hill Farmstead Brewery on tap and it is a home run. The Tiki Bar itself doesn't have any food. This come courtesy of the Vermont Food Truck, parked right on the side of the Bar. (I will do a separate review later of the food truck) The beer list is long and quite extensive featuring many micro brews from Vermont and several others from the New England region. You can feel free to bring your kids and sprawl out a blanket with some snacks...it's a chill vibe that caters to many people. A word of note - they do NOT have soda or drinks for kids. (you can get stuff from the food truck) The perfect end to hours of riding in a beautiful area. read more

Fantastic post ride food from the vt food truck and great beer selection from the 30 taps plus bottles. Nice place to grab a good brew and watch the ebb and flow of happy mountain bikers. Owner Mike has done a great job capturing exactly what people needed, between the post ride showers, bathrooms and tiki bar....what more do you need? There's a food truck that does basic Mexican food and burgers next to it (or is the food truck part of Mike's Tiki Bar?). The food truck is not the speediest, but either through insatiable hunger, quality cooking, or both, the burrito and strawberry shortcake tasted AMAZING! read more

Love this place when it's open during warmer weather. Great place to end the day, and the food truck is ALWAYS consistently wonderful! Huge selection of beers on tap. There is a pork sandwich with a spicy (jalapeño, maybe?) apple butter spread - soooo good! And their fries are delicious! Finally someone figured our that mountain bikers like to drink after riding (note to Pub Out Back: you blew it. You had the perfect location and chose not to be open in the key hours in which riders finish up!). Fun to watch the construction progress until Voila, an improbable tiki bar in tiny East Burke. Incredible beer selection; I recommend Lucky Me or Fiddlehead IPA. Would love to see Hill Farmstead beers represented here. The Vermont Food Tuck serves up great food next door, if a tiny bit pricy. One major improvement needed: more seating. They have plenty of land, but a serious shortage of seats both at the bar and at satellite tables. The lawn chairs are fine, just get more of them. read more
