Wonderful experience in a wonderful resort. Great beers, each noting their source location, superb food, from poke bowls to steak plates We decided to forego cafeteria food and have a little leisure time in this great resort. We came over and were immediately seated. Service was spotless and friendly. Our food selections ranged from poke bowls, with wonderful fresh tuna, grilled cheese, burgers and steak sandwich. All were superb. We ordered several microbrew selections and each one was better than the other. Ambiance wise, the bar seated crowd was having a blast. But those in tables were having a quiet time and we loved it. Room for all likes. Overall a wonderful experience and a part of a great ski day. read more

Only game in town. Menu is limited which is typical for Vermont Ski Area hotels. Food is not very good but there are not a lot of choices in the NEK. Order entrees after appetizers and salads are delivered. If you order everything together it will all come out at the same time. Very annoying. read more

To start the wait staff was excellent, and the views were gorgeous. The reason for the two stars is for the food alone, I was unfortunately disappointed. The chicken sandwhich was honestly not good at all. It was dry, and frankly cut the roof of my mouth because it was so hard and dry. The chicken itself was flavorless. It honestly tasted like a deep fried carpet that they dressed up with sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion. Although the bun was soft and delicious! Maybe we got the wrong menu item- the garlic knots were great! Really good marinara sauce as well. The mango tequila drink was very good as well. I am very disappointed with the chicken sandwich especially because this place is "known" for it. I think using a different type of chicken and different breading would be helpful - and definitely some salt and pepper! I would be open to going back and trying something new though - but the chicken sandwich desperately needs an upgrade! read more

The vegetarian options were a bit sparse, but were appreciated. We tried the caprese sandwich and the crispy tofu báhn mì. The caprese was very tasty, served on a crusty ciabatta roll - big win on this one. The tofu báhn mì had some nice flavors and textures inside. The tofu was truly crispy, and the jalapeño slices served up a nice spicy pop. Alas, the filling was overwhelmed by the large roll, and the sandwich ate dry. A change of proportions would be most helpful. Both meals came with fries, which unfortunately were undercooked and limp. The service was friendly but glacially slow. Had a fun time here. Server was excellent, really attentive and went the extra mile. Everything came out super fast. Maybe the other reviews were from an off night or they changed something behind the scenes? I got the Mediterranean bowl. SO good. Could have had a touch more dressing, but I'm sure they would have given me some if I had asked when someone came over to check in. The one thing that was odd was that the air vent above us was loud, but it wasn't a huge deal. Been here before and I don't remember that being an issue, so maybe the vent was having an off night, too. read more

I learn to ski on Berg mountain so I figured it was only natural for me to come back decades later and eat at the mountain. I forget the bartenders name so pardon me but I had a great discussion with him along with some other patrons that were sitting next to me. I had the burger medium well with a salad. Really cool spot on the second floor of our hotel. The drinks were as advertised and the views are exceptional. The food leaves something to be desired as the menu is pretty extensive but the selections we had were just so-so. My focaccia was OK and the salad we had was alright. The chicken in the salad looked bad (tasted fine) and the focaccia bread wasn't really focaccia. Man that word is fun to say. The insides of the focaccia were pretty righteous, but again the chicken looked very unappetizing. Like it looked cafeteria level, but I was assured by my other half that the veggies were very crisp and on the money. Maybe we ordered wrong, very possible, I am an absolute lock for missing the mark when ordering. Go for a drink, I'd probably grab some grub somewhere else. read more

The View Pub is an essential experience of Burke, VT.  You see, in the summer of 2019, I, along with some friends, journeyed to the golf courses of northern Vermont for the weekend.  We saw that The View Pub had a good selection of beers, so we ventured over, excited for delicious food and drink after a full day of golf. Alas, we were indeed very satisfied upfront with a fantastic selection of beer.  But this was only the beginning; we had no clue our lives were about to be changed forever. One poor soul (whose name shall be protected....let's call him "Mr. Red") made the mistake of ordering the Reuben.  Now, that's not to speak against the Reuben itself, as he claims it was very tasty.  But poor Mr. Red did not order the correct thing from the menu.  The View Pub makes, quite simply, the greatest Crispy Chicken Sandwich of all time. I know, that's lofty, but allow me to explain.  I, Mr. Blue, Mr. Pink, Mr. Yellow, and Mr. Purple all ordered the chicken sandwich.  The menu made it sound good, but the humble description was not even close.  Nay, the menu simply did not exemplify the grandeur of the sandwich. My friend, the panko crusted boneless chicken thigh was simply massive, extending far beyond the brioche bun.  It was freshly fried, and beyond juicy.  For those who prefer chicken breast in their sandwich, The View Pub has proven you wrong. Now, clearly, only the best cheddar cheese can dare to grace this sandwich.  Thus, Cabot cheddar was chosen, as if it were predestined for a sandwich this good.  The bacon wasn't just any bacon, but two large strips.  And by large, I mean that the length of each strip was twice the diameter of the bun.  Between the chicken and bacon, you had to eat a lot just to get to where the bun was.  Once you got to the warm and toasted bun, you could experience the perfect combination of chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato, and onion, completing the heavenly flavor.  French fries help to balance the meal, and for those that enjoy eating pickles, one was included on the side. This was a big sandwich...full, meaty, and hearty after golfing all day.  Any hungry person would find their stomach satisfied.  Anyone who likes flavor, doubly so. How do I put this......this is not simply a chicken sandwich on a random hotel bar menu.  Dear reader, this chicken sandwich, humble as it may seem on a menu, has caused us to write into the bylaws of our golf weekend a pilgrimage to The View Pub, just for the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.  Verily, one has not truly eaten a chicken sandwich until they have partaken in this one.  This is the chicken sandwich by which all others are judged. Food was good, service was good and f The place was packed! We had Long Trail- our fav. Had the artichoke spinach dip which I highly recommend. We were traveling through VT and used Yelp to find a good local restaurant. So happy to find The View Pub. Actually surprised to see a restaurant in a ski hotel open in June. Every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. Taylor provided exceptional service. She made our dining experience very pleasurable. The food was delicious! We had the Bleu Chips and they were awesome! The soup of the day was chicken and sausage which was so flavorful! The crispy chicken sandwich was also excellent and came with a bountiful serving of shoestring fries that were hot & crispy. Great selection of beers on tap and they allow you to sample so you can select the right one for your taste. A trip up the mountain to The View Pub is definitely worth it! read more

Love seeing willoughby gap here, food is great, the service is my only problem. Every time I have gone the restaurant has never been really packed, but they either tell us they are short-staffed or are just kind of slow with taking orders and cooking the food in time. I love the view pub, the food is great, they always have an event going on and new specials. It is an awesome place to come grab some food after spending the day on the slopes, its also right next to the retail store and I can never stop myself from going to buy something in there! However, sometimes when we come here during busy season they don't really know how to handle the rush... Last week there was a trivia night, we came a half hour early and the place was packed but there was no actual way to reserve a table. It was hurry up and grab a table after people move. You couldn't actually hear the trivia woman on the microphone and everyone's kids were running around EVERYWHERE. I understand it is a 'kid friendly environment' but its a pub..aka a bar so I am not sure why so many kids were there anyway. It was frustrating to say the least. But all is well. We went there the next day with no issues and had an awesome meal. Just be aware for busy days to get to events ahead of time! read more

We went because the reviews were good but the one star was only given for our waitress. She did a good job and was the only person working on the floor. The food was terrible; worst poutine I have ever had; caprese sandwich was okay but couldn't eat as an actual sandwich since the top bread was barely thawed and soggy; shrimp po boy came with barely any sauce and kid said you couldn't taste shrimp just over fried breading basically. The patio is the perfect spot for a weeknight dinner on a clear summer evening. Food was very good (shrimp tacos, Asian BBQ short ribs, sweet potato fries); not inexpensive but reasonable. One bartender/waitress for the evening did a phenomenal job (no table-side service on the patio if the pub is busy). We grabbed our drinks inside, ordered dinner, and returned 15 mins. later to pick up. Low key, relaxing, stellar view, great meal. read more

Great view and great beers. Food is underwhelming and portions are on the small size for a typical pub/bar. The staff seems unprepared to handle the large crowds and groups on holidays and weekends. The seat yourself nature of the pub makes it frenzied during busy periods. Burgers are spot on and well cooked. The main entrees are often underwhelming. Chicken and biscuits, new for 2018, has plenty of potatoes and carrots, but only a few slivers of shredded chicken. The biscuits are good but taste like bisquick mix. Certainly not worth 16. A pub meal for two with appetizers seems to run at least 60, which is too pricey for the area. The place could be a gem if the food and value were better. read more

Nothing like a day shredding the gnar and hitting the slopes. In order to do so; you need to fuel up with some food! My good friend and I took the day off of skiing to enjoy some food and drinks with some great friends on this particular day. Everyone remained at the Bear Den when we took the trek down to the View Pub to grab some food. We sat right down at the bar and awaited service. The bartender was nothing special and waited a while until he asked us for food and/or if we wanted a drink. The food wasn't bad and the prices were comparable to most mountainside restaurant locations. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and was actually very impressed. My friend got wings and a chicken Caesar salad. The fries were very good with the Reuben as well. The service was somewhat poor and slow and that is my only complaint. We weren't in any rush to get out of there so it didn't bother us too much, but I figured I'd let the people know. Good food, and average prices at this location. I would stop back in here again to eat because I am never really on a time crunch when I come to Burke and enjoy the slopes. read more

Well, I am typing this as I cross the 1 hour mark waiting for dinner.....and waiting.....and waiting....2 servers including the bartender, one guy disappears for 10 mins at a clip.....Took 25 mins to get 2 beers and a soda......there are 5-10 min blocks with no staff actually in the pub...... I realize it is -20 degrees out there but damn did they freeze the kitchen staff? read more

This place was great. The staff was wonderful. We were surprised at how good the food was. Their veggie burger was one of the best I've had in the area. We had to sit on stools at a high table, which was awkward with my youngest. If you have little kids you might want a reservation or something, so you can get a low table. The hotel is beautiful, too. You might just want to wander around. read more
