I ordered a cheeseburger without onions and signature sauce. I didn't want the signature sauce because the woman at the register informed me that it was sweet. I'm not a fan of sweet sauces on meats. I also requested an up charge for the jerk fries instead of regular. Finally, I ordered the vanilla shake. Well, I'm not impressed by anything I ordered. My vanilla shake was not good, and mostly air. The cheeseburger was covered in the sweet signature sauce, making the bun and shredded lettuce inedible, which led me to rinse the tomato and pickles, and pat the burger dry. Listen! If you are used to eating fatty burgers, bacon and greasy fries, this is not the place for you! I wondered why the reviews weren't all great after eating here but I get why! It's fresh and cleaner fast-food eating than most are accustomed to, so they may have been accustomed to a different type of meal. I enjoyed everything about my lunch. What caught my eye was the Hebrew burger. Leviticus 11 in the bible all day lol , I didn't order it but I love that the diet I grew up eating is served here! It's fast food but better in options that suit me with plenty of vegan options, chicken, turkey bacon instead of pork bacon and salmon. We were stuck at the tire shop a few doors down from Mikkey's and we were really starving! We found Mikkey's and ordered 2 chicken Philly's online. The Philly sandwiches came with fries. They food is good but they are highly overpriced. We paid $50 for two burger meals a shake and onion rings. I bought the onion rings separately for $5 but was charged $7.75. I told the lady that tax didn't sound right and she stated "This Chicago". She didn't provide a receipt maybe because I paid cash on that order. It's sad we try to support our neighborhood restaurants and they straight rob you. We asked for a shake; banana strawberry and pineapple they charged us $13 smh. I looked at the sandwich and wondered what kind of beef was this? .it was if it was chewed up and spit back out.As I took the first bite I could taste the jerk. I gave it back and they made me a new one. That was made with some kind of cheese that was definitely not pepper jack. I then tried the chili. Every time we go to Mikkey's they never disappoint! From big burgers to crispy wings and shakey shakes there is something here for everyone. I have been here multiple times and I always get a burger which is pretty big by the way and fries with that jumping Sauce. Dare I say it's better than The classic Harolds mild sauce. Now there is a bit of a wait but it's definitely worth it. Burgers are my thing and eventually I want to try every burger on the menu wish me luck. So I put off writing this review for a while. Mostly because, shamefully, like most of society, we only speak up when something is wrong. Rarely when something is right. So I'll start with that. I dig the food quality of Mikkey's. I love a burger that taste homemade. Shakes are good too. I also support their business hours being in accordance with their faith. I think that's dope they didn't have to compromise that to live their dream. Now onto the bad. Fries are not great. There's no consistency with their quality. Similar to Five Guy's fries that's been overcooked. My orders are consistently wrong or missing something. First time ordering, they forgot my milkshake. Second time I ordered milkshakes, someone put them both on the same side of the cup holder, resulting in a lack of balance and half a milkshake spilled into the bag the cup holder was tied up in. The UberEats app, which is what I always order through as I don't own a vehicle, has their Kid's meal backwards. The mozzarella cheesesticks is showing as a main instead of an add-on and the cheeseburger is showing as an add-on instead of a main, resulting in me not getting what I thought I was. Sometimes I order the onion rings in addition to the fries with my burger. Sometimes I get the onion rings in addition and sometimes they replace my fries with the onion rings. I've never ordered from a restaurant on any app and had my order, which is usually the same, come differently every other time. Again, there's a consistency issue here. Today I ordered the jerk fries minus the jerk per my instructions in the notes. It's too spicy for me to eat. I can't tolerate that kinda heat. Substitutions aren't uncommon nor do they say they're not allowed. Plus I ordered it non-jerk days prior and it came correctly. I don't know what's going on with this jerk bandwagon that everyone's been on lately but I wish they hop off of it. Jerk isn't new. With their quality of food, it'd be nice to get a traditional Italian beef or cheese fries without the spice kicked up to hell by jerking it. That's not innovative to me. Next thing you know we'll have jerk cheesecake and jerk ice cream. Just jerk every thing while we're at it. This isn't on UberEats. They only deliver the food. They don't make it. We shouldn't have to choose between quality and service. We deserve both. I thought Mikkey's could be that for us on the south side. Not everyone has the option to come in person to remedy the human errors. I know ya'll doing ya'll best but I vaCan't keep giving you my money for what I didn't order/receive. I'm sorry guys. Another difference is the attentive, hard working employees, greet you when you walk in. - The sitting set up hard to say the bench seating while u wait I like for to go orders, the center seating they have hard mini ( I say mini cuz I got a big butt) stools that isn't ergonomically for the lower tables. I love Mikkeys and have been a constant supporter but my last two experiences have left me really annoyed. I stopped in for a meal for my kid and the older black woman who often has a bad attitude greeted me with, "you here to pick up or order?". No hello or welcome to Mikkeys as the other team members usually do. My next visit was this Monday, July 20. I ordered the impossible burger with everything advertised and Rico mild sauce on my fries. When I unwrapped my burger, the bun was already broken in several places. There is no way it was placed on the burger whole. It's not like much happened during my 10 minute ride home. It was a hot mess to try to eat and it was the driest bun ever made on earth. It crumbled. I finally decided to save myself the drama and carbs so I took the top crumbled/ broken bun off. The canned mushrooms used on the burger made it unappetizing even while eating it without the top bun. I threw the entire burger away and ate the fries that seemed to be fresh and longer than 3 inches-about 15-20, I was given hard and short fries. Never again. NEVER. I didn't want to leave this review, but this is one of the worst experiences I've had period! Today, I ordered Mickey's on Uber Eats. The order arrived and all 3 burgers we ordered were wrong. Also, the fries were dark brown and crunchy. I calmly called to let them know and the cashier became defensive and hung up. We drove there and when we got there she went off. She put on gloves and inspected each sandwich while making snide comments. Afterwards she walked away and we asked next steps. She said I'll make another one. By this time I asked for the manager. I would have extended grace and mercy and passed on this review, but the team member continued to yell and be disrespectful. She messed up our order and was inconsolable. While waiting I went outside and a customer thst was in the restaurant said that employee talked bad about us after we called and when we walked in, she knew there would be a confrontation from her. While we were talking, that employee came outside and was having a tantrum about the situation on her speaker phone. We dispersed, because we didn't feel safe. We finally got out food 20 minutes later and left. That employee was still rambling. Unbelievable!! Towards the end, we just didn't feel safe. Who was she talking to on the phone?
