Meditation Labyrinth Review 3 of 3…read more Follow the tree-lined road through the main gates of the St. Joseph's Convent (just north of Candlewood Road) about 1/2 mile into their "212 landscaped and wooded acres" to find this Classical seven-ring labyrinth outlined by white rock and shrubbery. Surrounding it are seven pear trees, planted in memorial to various families and individuals. It is barely visible on Google Earth, but if you look it is there. Aside from this attraction, the convent grounds here are vast and well maintained, with nice statuary and architectural features. Their website invites visitors, though on-site signs are posted prohibiting trespassing. . . just look like you belong, and you shouldn't have a problem. I've never waked this labyrinth, but here it is, for those interested. On looks and vibe alone, I give it a healthy four stars, pilgrims.

After a long night there drinking either light or dark beer, I found to my surprise that the Village Scandal hat shop next door was open. It might have been 2 am. A hat shop open at 2 am? Another reason to love NY. Now I visit the village scandal on every trip to NY. I don't always buy a hat, but you never know what you may find. This last trip I was standing in the hat shop and saw people coming in and out of St. George. I had always admired the gold relief images on the outside of what is mostly a non descript structure, as far as churchs go. I entered after taking my hat off and stood with the thick legged white haired Ukranian women and saw the magnificent murals inside. Spectacular. Inspiring. Come and pay your respects, and marvel at this triangle of great NY.

To see such a genuine act of kindness, restore my faith in some churches and makes me feel so happy to see people who truly care. Big plus for this place. Pastor Almonte speaks Spanish and services are in Spanish too. What is also great about this place is that they take all kinds of donations, clothes, items, money. Anything that you want to give and help. Good to know since the Salvation Army stores in my area are closed. The new place to bring in donations.

She had a wonderful list of ceremonies to choose from so you can tailor your ceremony to who you are as a couple and not just have someone spew some generic sayings about love. We chose to have a wine box ceremony, where we seal a box with love letters and a bottle of wine to open and read on our anniversary. Dr. Burns even mailed us wedding tips to help us de-stress and enjoy the process, which were truly helpful and incredibly thoughtful. Overall, she is so knowledgeable and willing to accommodate any and all needs.
