I stopped by Milady Nails a few weeks ago when I was in town visiting family prior to a work event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I happened to be a walk-in and they were able to squeeze me in for a Classic Pedicure.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love that they have a limited (yet still large) selection of colors to choose from! As someone who can go into analysis paralysis when looking at walls of colors, having a few books to choose from was super helpful. Overall the salon was super clean and the staff was very friendly! As someone who lives on the East Coast, I really wish I could come here more often. This was the first salon I've been to in months where you can tell everyone is proud of their work. The last two pedicures I've had, someone has nipped me with a cuticle cutter because you could tell they were rushing, but not here! Next time I am in Hollister, I can't wait to get another pedicure! I came in specifically asking for a soak-off for my acrylics. While I was waiting, a technician named Nancy came over and asked if I wanted them "taken off." I clarified yes, a soak-off. Once I sat in her chair, she did not do a soak-off. She drilled them down slightly and then used an acrylic nail to aggressively lift and rip my nails off, which was painful and not what I asked for. The only nail that was actually soaked off was my pinky, because it wouldn't come off any other way. I came in for a soak-off because I wanted my nails removed safely -- if I wanted them ripped off, I could've done that at home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I went to pay, the front desk asked how it was, and I said, "I asked for a soak-off, not a rip-off." By that point, Nancy had already left her station, so there was no one to address the issue with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was still charged $15, paid, and left because I was over it and just wanted to go home. I went first to blossom nails and had the worst experience ever waiting for over 30 minutes when I had a scheduled appointment and I had walked out on them.. I like the aesthetic of this nail salon however the quality of the service really seems to depend on who performs the service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During my first visit, I was helped by someone who understood virtually no English and even hand signals were challenging.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up not being satisfied with how my shape and polish turned out so I waited for someone else to redo at least half of my nails (pedicure). I am grateful that the issue was corrected but all staff should be able to communicate functionality with customers because I was not anticipating being there for over 2 hours for a pedicure. Adding one more because 5 stars doesn't do enough justice with how amazing Milady nail salon is! Every inspo that I show my nail tech he always DEVOURS. The nail salons vibe is also peaceful, relaxing and just not your typical chaotic/busy nail parlor. Another plus is that the salon doesn't have that chemical smell when you walk in and it's always clean and proper inside. Pedicure was okay. Didn't give options for what pedicures they just did a classic no offering of any add ons. My manicure....horrible. I had grown my nails out for weeks they were strong, beautiful and I had pictures of what I was looking for and got NOTHING close to it. The nail tech was rushing and butchered my nails before I could even say anything. I wanted to cry instantly. I didn't go in with an appointment, I was a walk in. They should have told me to make an appt and come in another day instead of rush and ruin my nails. They look horrible, I could cry. I wanted to treat myself to getting my nails done for a special event. I went to Milady's Nail & Spa today and was very happy with the service I received today. I went in for a pedicure. I didn't have to wait to be taken to the back. There is ample parking and the location is easy to get to. The nail technician that I got was Cindy.
