She immediately knew what I was talking about, she listened and she did an excellent job. Doesn't hurt anymore. I'm a happy camper. I'm a regular customer since moving to Hollister from San Jose 2 years ago. I never had any issues with all the nice ladies there. Reasonable prices. They do not know how to shape I told them I want square square and I got some round some square uneven, really thick hardly even filed my nails. It was like too hard for her and this is a fresh new set, uneven not the length I requested, and very rushed. I got home washed my hands and still have residue on my fingers and underneath my nails. I used to go to them all the time before Covid hit but since returning their quality has not been good. Even if the nails look good, my nails have never been more damaged. My mom and I have both gotten pedicures and our nails have gotten so brittle they've broken. I literally lost half of my big toe nail. RIP the pups. read more

Honestly, I should've written a review about this place a lot sooner... But I regrettably kept giving this place chance after chance... and basically throwing my money down the drain. When this place first opened, I frequented it often and received excellent service.... Ive received many services here including manicures, pedicures and even waxing (eyebrows). But much to my dismay, as the years have gone on, the quality of service and the friendliness of the employees--has taken a steep decline. My biggest complaint about this place as a result of my most recent visit (End of June 2021) is the lack of straightforward communication when it concerns cost. When I thought I was getting a $35 "Deluxe" pedicure, I couldn't fathom why I ended up with a ticket claiming my pedicure cost $48. That $13 difference is major when it is completely unexpected. I guess I should have taken the hint when my nail tech began to argue with me (yes, literally argue) regarding the shade of nail polish that I had chosen. **Long story short, I was passed from one nail tech to another because some other customer threw a fit about the amount of time she had for the service, and was immediately catered to by the staff, while I was half heartedly tossed to someone else and the color I chose got mixed up in the transition. When I brought this to the new tech's attention she argued with me that she was given the correct color--which, in fact was not the case.** Anyway, things got worse from there as I asked about my pedicure --I was up charged for a service I did not request and forced to pay for a shoddy paint job. Not to mention with each service you are expected to tip the tech for their time and work. Which I did begrudgingly, because I was so unhappy with the services I received on that day. If you are willing to pay for a service, you should--at the very least--be able to receive exactly what you pay for...however, this was far from the case in my last experience. I felt very undervalued as a consumer and I don't think I will be returning in the future. And while i'm on that note, be-aware... if you make an appointment, there is a 50 / 50 chance that it won't even matter because someone else who walks in without an appointment will probably be taken in before you. Especially if that person intends on spending more money on services than you. I've seen it happen and even experienced this type of "prejudice" multiple times before and I'm just DONE with this place. I refuse to settle for disrespect just because this place is local. I'd rather drive a little further and pay a little more for a place that truly appreciated me as a customer. HARD PASS. DO NOT RECOMMEND. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Writing this review after my second time coming here. I walked-in the first time and got Lily. I really liked how my nails turned out so I came back and asked for her again! Definitely did not disappoint. I moved to Hollister from San Jose so I had high standards for my nails. I got a new set of acrylic nails the first time and came back today for a refill. The texture is even, the shape is how I asked for it, and the polish is smooth. 10/10! Price points are fair - my refill was $30. For the foreseeable future I'll keep coming back here and asking for Lily. read more

First time here. Sorry to say, but it was my worst experience ever. Each and every one of my nails is in so much pain from my cuticles ripping apart. This nail tech used was too much glue and the nails she put on were way bigger than mine. Very messy job. Not at all what I asked for and I stopped her a few times to make corrections, but still no luck. Avoid this place!! The lady I got was so careless at her job. She legit stabbed my left toe and it bled and she kept saying I have an ingrown! LADY!!! The owner, Ashley, is wonderful. My sister and niece & I have standing appointments once a month, so we don't have a long wait. I've had ingrown toenails a couple of times &Nikki takes care of them and pain is gone. Years ago I had a really bad ingrown toenail & the podiatrist took off half of my toenail, which hurt for weeks. Now I just have Nikki take care of it and pain is gone. My toes always look great for weeks and I use Polish, not gel, so that says it's done correctly. read more

I've given this place a few tries for pedicures, but the last time I stopped in I ended up with an infection in my toe. I gave one last try today but left before having anything done. They pointed me to a chair and I sat and waited for about 10 minutes while they finished other ladies. The lady sitting next to me had her feet in the water and said she had been there for about 15 minutes already and needed to leave to get back to work. They called out to someone who was in their back breakroom and she ran out to help. Then two ladies walked in and they were seated next to me. When one of the pedicurists finished, she started prepping their bowls. I asked why they were taking the ladies that came in after me and was told they had an appointment. I didn't think it was right that they seated me without saying it would be a while so I left. Tried this little place out for thr first time. Not bad for price. Service was okay, wish they would of focused a bit more, they seemed so rushed. Wasnt comfortable at all. I also noticed they do not sterilize their tools, they only wipe them down. Sorry, not good enough for me. Also, when they were done with my toes, she askes me to get up and let my toes dry while sitting on a chair against the wall, and wanted me to walk bare foot....uhm, no! So I have decided to get my nails done a week ago and I went here to tip and toe salon June 29. Van Was the one who did my nails she did a great job, I loved the color and everything , very friendly . But I started noticing after four days of getting my nails done by the cuticle area my nails was starting to lift up and it was on both hands. And now yesterday July 5 I realize that it was lifting up even more on a few nails. I am pretty sure in a fast movement or lifting something up it would pop completely off. So today July 6 I go in to try to get a refund or at least get them fixed. The way van started to fix it was just putting layers of nail glew filing the edges down putting more of nail glue and then she started Putting multiple layers of just top coat gel . It turned out looking horrible. You can see multiple bubbles on some nails, little bumps as well. I did not like how they came out at all. I wanted a refund they said that it's not possible they don't do refunds and they said that it's my natural nail oil's that caused the problem that I have to pay more so I can get them fixed better.. I have gone to other places to get my nails done and this has never happened to me. The job there doesn't last, the most it will last is about a week they look nice for a while but the work there it's not worth the price you pay. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants their moneys worth. read more
