I came in for a soak-off because I wanted my nails removed safely -- if I wanted them ripped off, I could've done that at home. When I went to pay, the front desk asked how it was, and I said, "I asked for a soak-off, not a rip-off." By that point, Nancy had already left her station, so there was no one to address the issue with. I was still charged $15, paid, and left because I was over it and just wanted to go home. Overall, this was a painful and disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend coming here for acrylic removal if you care about nail health.

Unfortunately, my visit didn't go as expected. Shortly after my service began, another client came in with a complaint, and the technician assisting me stepped away to address it. While I understand that situations come up, there was no clear communication about how long it would take or whether I was okay waiting. This left me sitting for an extended period with my service only partially started. From the beginning, the service already felt a bit rushed, and the interruption made it difficult to continue since I was on a time constraint. When I expressed that I needed to leave and asked to have the product removed, I felt somewhat questioned rather than understood. I was told the nail protection that had been started was good for my nails and encouraged to keep it, but one thumb had builder gel unfinished, which didn't feel right to leave as is. To clarify, the only thing applied was the beginning of a nail protector (as explained to me), along with one thumb started with builder gel. The manicure itself was never completed there was no soaking, cuticle care, or full service performed. Despite this, I was still charged for a manicure or a portion of it, which didn't feel appropriate given how little of the service was actually done before the interruption. I also left feeling a bit uncomfortable, as if I was being judged for needing to leave or for being direct about my time constraints. I don't feel clients should have to push or repeatedly explain themselves in situations like this, especially when the delay was outside of their control. I do appreciate that the owner apologized at the end, and I'm sharing this feedback simply to raise awareness of how this experience felt as a new client. I truly hope that in the future there can be more communication, understanding, and consideration for clients' time and situations.

My husband and I are going to a formal dinner tomorrow. My husband decided to spoil me and get my nails done and a pedicure. I go to Tip N Toe here in Hollister and they start by working on my toes. After she starts clipping my nails I start to feel a pain on one of my feet. When she pulls my foot out of the water, there is a large painful lump on my foot! It looked and felt like a bee sting. She starts telling me that they only put antiseptic in the water and that my skin is way too sensitive! She says I must have bumped it or something. Not true. I ask her to stop. She continues and says she will just do one foot. I pull my feet away from her and tell her no. She rinses my feet and I put my socks and shoes back on. Here is the killer! SHE CHARGED ME $20!!! Not only did something they did cause me this pain and scare me but she did not finish! I will NEVER get my feet done again. I left there in tears in my eyes feeling violated! What is worse is that every person in this shop (and there was a lot of them) saw this happen along with every woman that worked there and NO ONE stood up for me. I could not have ever watched this injustice happen to anyone in front of me. This place had made it to where I will never get my nails done again. Oh and FYI, they do use a plastic bag in the pedi-chairs and I saw her use the one that was already in the bottom of the tub. Maybe that was what did it to me. read more

I am not a local and can be very picky when it comes to my nails, (I have found the most amazing ladies back home so my standards are high) but Helen did a wonderful job with my full set and gel color. She was gentle and kind! The gel is even and clean. Whitney did just as well on my toes with gel, again she was gentle! I had trimmed my toe nails earlier in the day so they were a little scraggly looking but now they are smoothed out and look like nails that belong on a woman's foot! read more

Went in for pedicure and the yelled at me to take the last chair. There must have been 7 to 8 employees doing pedicures at that time. Then when the finished they took the people who came in after me for manicures. After waiting over an hour they started to do a pedicure for a women who came in long after me. They told me several times five more minutes. I would love to say the wait was worth it but I can't after 1:15 minutes with my feet now in cold water I left. read more

I've been going to this place for years and service has always been good. They are the cleanest place in Hollister and the ladies are experienced & know what they are doing. Maybe a LITTLE pricy compared to other nail places on town BUT you always get what you pay for. I have also noticed that the polishes that they use on my nails whether shellac or on my acrylic nails- always lasts longer than when I go to other places. read more

I love this place. You have a wait but it is worth it. Christina is the best for eye brow waxing and all 3 of my girls get there nails done there up to my 6 year old says I need tip n toes. They treat everyone like a princess and it is always what you want. We make it a day in the salon when we go. All 5 of us go there. Great pedi and medicure. I decided to try a Shellac manicure, and it was absolutely worth it! The technician was meticulous and made sure the color was applied evenly. My nails are still looking as fresh as they did when I first got them done. I've always had pleasant experiences at Tip n Toe. I'm not a die-hard fan, but in a pinch it will do the trick. Saturday and Sunday mornings are a pain to get in, but they do accept appointments if you call the day before. Seems clean enough, but of course the nail polish smell is pretty strong. There are better ventilated salons in town, but this is convenient and affordable read more

I was in chair #4 and somehow got skipped while two technicians started working on my friends first. I waited about 30 minutes before anyone even came to me. When the technician finally came (short hair, usually at the front greeting customers), she rushed through my pedicure. In less than 20 minutes, she said she was done cleaning my nails and ready to paint. Meanwhile, my friends weren't even close to being done yet that's how rushed my entire service was. I had to stop her and ask her to clean the sides of my toenails, especially my big toes, and she refused, saying it could cause infection. I've had plenty of pedicures before and know what a proper cleaning is. What she did was the bare minimum basically just cutting my nails. (I could have done this at home) She barely touched one side of one toe and then told me to "clean it at home." That's honestly ridiculous. Why am I paying for a service just to be told to finish it myself? What made it worse is this is NOT the first time this has happened with the same technician. Months ago, I asked for the same thing and she actually stopped mid-pedicure, left, and came back with a waiver for me to sign saying I'd be responsible for any infection. I gave her the benefit of the doubt this time thinking it was a one-time issue, but clearly it's not. This time, instead of a waiver, she took a picture of my toes with no explanation and NO PERMISSION, which was extremely weird and uncomfortable. On top of everything, the callus removal was uneven one foot was done more than the other. The entire service felt rushed, careless, and dismissive. Being skipped, rushed, refused basic service, told to finish the job at home, and having photos taken without explanation is not okay especially when I'm paying for the service. I will not be returning. TAO, handle your employees because this is one of the reasons you're loosing costumers.

I think it's a business that offers contractors a spot to work & create their own client base. The owner of Heidis might be the property owner AND a nail tech. The entire process was just over an hour & included: gel pedicure, paraffin treatment, foot massage, leg massage with hot stones, chair massage with heated wraps for my hands & shoulders. There was a Korean face mask (moisturizing), but I opted to do it at home. Payment is easy - ApplePay or Zelle. While getting the pedicure I read a book, but once the massage started I just closed my eyes and listened to the different languages and music. The hum seemed very friendly The only negative was when a man who was familiar with the female nail techs came over & changed the tone from classy to trashy. His gutter style encouraged the women to join in by using foul language. Yes, entiendo y hablo español. The lack of professionalism was a turn-off and a good reason to find another salon instead of feeling excited that one found a gem.
