I've purchased two wigs from Milano. I've also had one of my non-Milano wigs washed and set by them, and I've received one wigcut by a milano stylist. Their service is fast and friendly. I like the prices, but the wig quality isn't the best. The first wig that I purchased was a pony sheitel and it had an awkward wave in the back. The sales girl told me it would come out when it was washed. I believed her (she probably believed herself). The second wig is a short curly wig, it looked great when I first bough it, but the back of it went flat and no wash or set can get it back to the original style :(. I was very pleased with the other wash and set that they did on a wavy wig. And the cut was so-so (it was on the sheitel with the awkward wave). I think I just don't like that wig. I'm still looking for a bang-a-rang sheitel macher in Brooklyn. Suggestions welcome. read more

Do not use this location; once they have taken your money, their customer service is abhorrent. I live in Michigan; I have been following Milano Wigs on social media for about 3 years and decided on the NYC location because it is closest. I flew out on May 28th for my appointment. This is my first time buying a wig due to my genetic hair loss; you can imagine, this whole experience is very emotional for me. I explained that. The fitting went okay; I very much liked a wig and purchased it along with many customizations for $5,260.50 same day. I was told it would take 1-2 months for the color processing and customizations. I was very okay with that. I received a call on 6/22 (see photos) where a voicemail was left to confirm the wig was finished and I needed to make a second trip to get it cut- while I wear it- and then I can take it home. Per their policies, if they don't cut it themselves, they're not liable for any issues the wig might have. So making a second trip was necessary. I made an appointment for Monday, July 26th. They called and confirmed my appointment on July 23rd; I confirmed I would still be coming FROM MICHIGAN. I arrived for my scheduled appointment on the 26th, in NYC, in the morning for my 2pm appointment. I received a call from Milano Wigs at 10am that morning stating my wig wasn't finished (see photos) but I could still come in to have it cut. This is after being told it WAS finished on 6/22 (see voicemail photo). Had it not been finished, I wouldn't have scheduled the hair cutting. Because after spending $5,000 on a wig, I wanted to approve the coloring in person. This was no longer an option. I was told a manager would call me Monday morning (the 27th) about the "mix-up." A manager never called; the kind receptionist called for a shipping address because they were going to rush color the wig SAME DAY and ship it to me by end of day. Which in itself is wild considering they had 8 weeks to do the coloring. I asked for a manager at this time.The manager blamed the color not being finished due to a pop-up event the week before...but they had called me 6/22 saying it was done...I also told them to NOT ship the wig until a friend of mine who is local to NYC could approve its coloring. I stated that some sort of compensation should be given for this. I was dismissed. I was told it was not in her power to make those decisions. When I hadn't heard back by 5:15pm on Monday the 27th, with an update on the color, I called back. I was then told that the wig wouldn't be finished until morning and they can ship it then. I had to remind the same manager for a second time to NOT ship it until my friend can approve the coloring. Clearly the only way I was going to make any progress with these people was to start being assertive and asking for written communication since they have an issue with follow-through and holding to their word. This was after I was incredibly kind and understanding given their giant mistake. On this same call, I was told the best they can do for compensation was a 6% refund ($321.15) and $200 in free products from their website. This is after I spent $5,260.50 on a wig and $1,664 in travel expenses. After I was told that the wig would be done end of day on Monday, July 27, I followed up the next day to be told it would be another 2-3 days until it was done. And additionally, the colorist I spoke to was extremely rude and dismissive when I was having to describe over the phone for a 2nd time what I wanted for a color + the manager being extremely dismissive the entire process. Then, after the wig finally shipped, they "forgot" to include the wefts I had removed. So I had to remind them to ship the wefts that I paid for; had I not, I would have never gotten them.This place is an absolute joke. They don't care about you; they see you as dollar signs. If you are considering this location after seeing Milano Wigs on social media, do not choose this location. They are horrible. It's a true shame to have such a terrible experience for the first time investing in a quality wig. read more

This is an update on my review a few days ago. I returned the Top Grip band and asked for an exchange to a WiGrip. The replacement item took 12 days to get to me. I was disgusted to find out that the item sent to me was not in its original packaging. It was placed inside a flimsy plastic that was not sealed. AND, to top it off, the WiGrip I received smelled! It appears that they sent a used item for an item that I returned unused and unopened. So after waiting for 12 days, I have to wash this thing before I can use it. I don't trust this company and will do not buy anything from them again. read more

On February 29th, 2024 I went to the Milano Wigs Collection showroom in Brooklyn for a consultation. I tried on a few wigs and settled on a wavy dark brown wig. I left a $300 deposit on it and made an appointment to have it cut there. I changed my mind because the wig was overpriced and required a wig cap. I cancelled the order and wig cut. The invoice was cancelled but my deposit was not returned. I disputed with my bank and they sided with Milano after a few months because they showed the bank a document that says no refunds. This is nowhere on the website and I have ordered and returned a piece from Milano wigs collection online. I did not see this no refunds sign anywhere in the showroom. read more

I suffer from alopecia, I've been in the Brooklyn location about 3 times in the last year. I have always purchased the wigs, not because of costumer service, they do carry a nice wig. My issue is that I think they only cater to the Jewish community, I don't think they cater to cancer patients at all. I just recently received an email with a huge sell over the weekend almost 750 off....but when I checked the website all the toppers and wigs were up 300 -400 then when I purchased in April... looks like price gauge at the wig spot when woman only want to cover up sickness, immunodeficiency or other hair loss. I have been in contact with the California office to find out if that's what they do.... Do the cater to have medical hairloss I don't but I have an appointment wed we will see! read more

The sales people are nice but it was pretty frustrating to getting exactly what I want. When you see the wig you want online and you get a chance to see in person you will visit a showroom. But the sales person doesn't understand what you mean by the "freedom cap" and kept showing you the regular cap and then realize what you mean and tell you they can saw the freedom part by hand is kind of weird. I wanted to see the difference of the colors but felt like I was not making it clear enough with the color names they made. I wanted to compare specific two colors but they just kept showing me different colors I didn't ask. Pretty frustrating. This showroom won't order on behalf of you, so you have to buy the wigs they already have, you will be lucky to find exactly what you want from size, cap, texture, length, or make them understand exactly what you are looking for so you can see yourself to buy online. I have purchased 3 wigs with Milano & love the first 2. I ordered the third & received it but there is an issue with front lace ...it's a Divine but lace isn't laying flat. I called & they said just bring it in and they will make it right. I'm not yet fully vaccinated but they said no worries they will be there when I'm ready. I'm hopeful that all will go well & the third also works great. I have had 2 wigs cut by Dani and she did a beautiful job! Pics below of one. read more

Honestly the most traumatizing experience ever which sucks because the first two times I purchased with milano were fine. However, I was sent the wrong wig recently after sending mine in and then was reprimanded for using the one that was sent to me. I literally had no choice but to wear the one that was sent to me because my backup wig was falling apart and I had a special event. I was never told the one sent to me was another customers nor was told I had to send it back until a week after receiving it. They have now refused to send me my old wig until they get this one back which I won't be able to do for several weeks. All these other events I had coming up are now ruined. These people have managed to make the life of someone struggling with hair loss even more miserable. read more

I've had possibly the worst experience with a wig- when most companies try to make the experience as seamless as possible, this has been one utter nightmare! Original purchase 11/17/19 online, paid for expedited shipping, color and style both nothing like the pictures I sent, I paid for custom color services. Customer service was nasty and rude, and I have alopecia, one would think they would be kind? I had only 7 days to ship on my dollar. So, went to Brooklyn showroom, exchanged. Of course piece had to be ordered. Was told I'd have end of that week (12/7) Low and behold, it didn't even ship from California until 12/7. Won't arrive until Tuesday. Will need to be colored, etc. so, my purchase that I so desperately needed befoRe thanksgiving is now up to Chanukah. NIGHTMARE. I am beyond livid. Then they lie and twist things so it's your fault that you don't get your money back. Had a totally atrocious experience. Don't fall for their classy customer service reps with their British accent this place is trash! I bought one of their Divine Luxe wigs which is virgin hair and added color service and as their website instructed, I sent a picture of the color and style I wanted. I paid over $2000 for the wig. Per their website, they were supposed to send me a picture of the wig to approve the color before they ship it out. This didn't happen and I received the wig. I was sick to my stomach when I opened the package as they obviously mixed up the picture I sent for style with the picture I sent for color. I wanted Carmel highlights and instead I received and ugly wig with light ash blond highlights. I immediately requested to return it for a refund. They refunded me less $200 which is the price of the hair coloring which was their fault. I called to ask for the rest of my money back and they refused and offered to correct the color. I had already paid $40 to ship it back with insurance. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the wig that I didn't take a picture of the color. They sent me an email of the photo I sent to them and allegedly a photo of the actual wig they sent me (this wast a picture of the wig they sent me) and claimed that they were the same color. Don't trust this place people! Look at the number of complaints on the Better Business Bureau before you buy. They lie! Wish there was a zero star. read more

Finding myself suddenly in need of a human-hair wig, I was all set to order a pre-fabbed wig on wigs.com for $1,200 that offered no customization to my natural hair. A neighbor, who's been a long-time customer of Milano connected me to the company, and I'm thrilled with both my wig and customer service. For less than the cost of the pre-fabbed wig on wigs.com, Milano delivered an absolutely gorgeous human-hair wig that beautifully matches my natural hair. My friends tell me it looks just like my own hair, which is exactly what i wanted. To ensure the wig fit properly, they sent me a kit before i placed my order and applied the cost of it to the purchase of my wig. They answered my questions promptly and thoroughly before and after my purchase. When the manager discovered that i ordered the wrong wig grip, she immediately offered to send me the correct accessory at no charge. Disgusting customer service. I would never purchase a wig from them, I ordered 2 wigs on the sale... and one is out of stock unless I want to add $200 on my order to get the longer length when I ordered the wig was in stock! They did not accommodate me so I said fine cancel the order the male manager said to me "that's fine, I sell over $1000 wigs in 2 seconds" who says such a thing!?! How unprofessional! So I told him I'm waiting on the phone for the refund email, he tells me "I'm not in the office right now" LOL. I CALLED THE OFFICE in California where they let me know that my wig is out of stock. My teenage daughter was about to undergo chemotherapy when we came across Milano Wigs. We had been to 3 wig shops before finding Milano and none of them looked "real" enough for my daughter. From the moment we stepped in Milano Wigs, we knew we had finally found the perfect place. Not only did their wigs look completely real but they were super modern and stylish. Nichole went absolutely above and beyond for my daughter. She was incredibly insightful, helpful, and patient with us and found us the perfect wig. Sarah, who cut and styled the wig, is truly skilled and was able to do exactly what my daughter wanted. We didn't catch the name of the lady who sewed the wigs but she was extremely nice and skilled as well. The entire staff is truly some of the most wonderful people and they know exactly what they are doing. Right as we left the building, my daughter said "I can feel pretty again." We could not be more happy with our purchase and will strongly recommend this place to anyone who needs a wig. read more

I'd been working with Nicole at Milano's via zoom to learn more about their products and options. I decided to fly in for a day so that I could try various styles and get an in person cut. I'd planned to buy one wig but ended up with two so that I had some options and because their products were spectacular. The staff was lovely and literally said that they'd make sure that I got the exact look and style that I was looking for before I left that afternoon. They were very attentive and not only met but exceeded my expectations. They made me feel at home, bought my daughter and me some lunch (traveling companion) and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. We were there for the better part of the day before heading back to the airport. I know that this won't be the last purchase I make from Milano's and was glad for the chance to try several styles in person while learning more along the way. read more

Due to covid I was afraid to purchase a new wig in stores, thankfully Milano Collection is offering online virtual consultations. This is my second time purchasing a wig but never a Milano. I'm new to wigs, due to my current hair loss; I still need to learn all about this wig world. I was a little skeptical at first but my fear was thankfully overcome! I had my first ever zoom consult with the Brooklyn manager, Nicole. I have to say she was so patient with me!!! I can't thank her enough! She answered every question I had with detail! She even modeled all the wigs I was interested in seeing and even explained to me all the different details of every cap the company offers. Narrowing my decision making progress down to the perfect wig for me! The stylist there, I believe her name is Dani colored and cut my wig, when I received it I was shocked by how perfect it came out!! I now have my confidence back with this gorgeous divine wig! Wish I could give less than 1 star, but oh well. My story is long and frustrating, but bottom line: mediocre quality for way too high a price, and most of all, ABYSMAL customer service. If you have even a tiny problem with your wig - even if it's their fault, it's brand new, never been worn, whatever - they won't lift a finger to fix the problem and make it right. Once you walk out the store with that wig, it's all over. Plus, you know that famous "bring in your old wig and they'll give you $100 off the price of a new one" deal? Yeah, they turn around and try to sell those old wigs as brand-new ones. Scrimp and save every penny if you have to, but don't buy a Milano wig. read more

Excellent customer service. Just brought in a wig I bought a while back that I thought was definitely done. Miriam assured me that Dani the stylist will be able to give the wig life again. Dani colored it and styled it. When I came to pick it up, I didn't even recognise the wig. It looked absolutely amazing!! This place doesn't even deserve one star, but this is all I can do! I wish they can get a negative 10!!! Notice how they only respond to positive feedback, which is probably false, just know this is how you will be treated in their store or on the phone if you have the slightest issue. They will take your money with a smile and then your nothing to them, their piece of garbage they sold you is now your problem! Shame on them!!! They sell you cheap garbage and then when you have the slightest issue, they are gone with the wind. I bought a wig at one of their sales in the Brooklyn showroom for $1300. After 3 months of wearing it, it turned a nasty yellow/orange color from the sun. I brought it in to be dyed and they dyed it and kindly BURNT my wig along the way and handed it back to me with a smile. After that its been like steel wool, disgusting nasty coarse hair. I called, begged, pleaded, went in to both stores in LA and Brooklyn, they did nothing. It was basically $1300 in the garbage but a good lesson learned and one I spread to anyone who will listen. DO NOT BUY MILANO WIGS from the Brooklyn location. Their service is awful, and they sold me a faulty piece of merchandise and then blamed me for it! The bangs were sewn onto the wrong part of the wig, but they said it was because i washed and set it myself. Now I'm without a ponytail sheital, which is necessary for working in a hospital. Horrible and un-friendly customer service. Called to order 6 of their "WiGrip Comfort Bands" at $20 a piece. I wanted to place the order, pay for it over the phone and have someone pick it up for me. The woman informed me that I would need to call and place the order through their LA location and then wait until the order is processed to pick it up. Oh, and that no one can bring it out to the car. It's their policy. Being on the busiest block in Brooklyn, you'd think they'd be a bit more accommodating. Or maybe just nicer about it. There are loads of places to go for wigs and accessories, I don't see any reason to patronize this place. read more

This is a horrible company. Do not order from them. Trust me. Save your money and order a Follea or a Freedom wig. I can't even cover all the details of how horrific my experience was with this company in one review, so I will try to keep it brief. The hair is horrible quality, and the color you order will be way off of what you wanted. No, they won't let you exchange it, nor will they fix it without charging you even more money. They will mix up your address and send your wig to the wrong person. You will have to wait months for your wig even though they promise you 6-8 weeks. The cap will begin to rot away after a few months. And it will burn and itch your head. Oh and forget about people not knowing you're wearing a wig because there are huge chunks of space between the wefts in the cap and the hairline up front looks ridiculous. It's one thing to make a shitty product, but it's another thing to advertise it as something it isn't, charge a high price for it, and then tell your customers to f*ck off after they call back crying after receiving a product they did not order. This is NOT a company for people suffering from medical hair loss. It's a company for women who wear wigs for religious purposes over a full head of hair. Stop screwing over the cancer patients with false advertising please, and save your products for the people they were meant for. Thanks. read more
