Okay I really wanted to like this place! I live in Ripley, but Im from Charleston originally so when I can patronize a new restaurant I try too!! So, we chose Mother's Day and I knew it would be packed. We got there about 2:20pm. So, it was after Church Rush Hour! On street parking was easy enough to find about 1/2 block up the street in front of the OLD LYRIC THEATER! Outside is very inviting! I had driven by it a few times before and knew it was in the old CHRIS'S HOT DOG Building on W Washington Street. Went inside and NO ONE was at the Hostess station. We stood there about 8 minutes, made EYE CONTACT w 3 different members of waitstaff...NOT ONE OF THEM ACKNOWLEDGED OUR PRESENCE!! NO welcome someone will be with you shortly or Even a Hi or Hello!! Finally, this lady about mid 20 something in street clothing, no company tshirt like the rest approached! Again, NOTHING, Not even a Smile! Not an excuse me, or I will be right with you!! She made a cellphone call and said "Someone in your party left their phone" I thought Okay, she wanted to catch them before they got too far away! When she hung up....crickets!!! Nothing like my hubby and I were invisible. I knew any minute he was going to walk out that door!! I said, "Excuse me, Party of 2!" She said "Oh, one minute I need to call someone to ket them know we can seat them now", I gave her a (very disgruntled look) she said "Then we should be able to seat you!" She got 2 incoming calls and then made her call, then still not saying anything to us went over to clean a 4 Top for the call she made!! She started cleaning a 2nd table, I assumed for us!! I wanted to usher my hubby to the table before he refused to eat here! We sat down and she NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED US...NO SILVERWARE NO MENUS!! A party of 3 was seated at thev4 Top she cleaned beside us! They were given menus, silverware and asked their drink order...again crickets for us!! This waitress was walking by and I said " Excuse me! Can we get menus? Or do we need to go somewhere else??" She said, "NO one has waited on you?" I said "NO apparently we are invisible today!" She hurried away and returned with menus and silverware. Meanwhile, the neighboring table was getting their drinks and appetizers, it is NOW 3PM, 40 minutes since we walked in the door. My husband said "I'm ready to leave!" I asked him to give them one more chance. Finally a waitress approached introduced herself as "Autumn" and took our drink order! We both ordered Tea, mine was half cut and his was sweet. They serve NO BEER OR ALCOHOL Another deal breaker for my hubby!! His was way too sweet so we asked Autumn to dump out half and make it half cut also. She promptly returned and took our order, Small Detroit Sicilian Supreme minus Green Peppers and a order of Garlic Knots Plain w Marinara sauce. First came the Garlic Knots! They were more like Garlic Balls but they were very good! Could have used more butter & garlic and maybe some fresh Basil sprinkled on them w Parmesan Cheese but definitely eatable! The bread had a great taste and cost $6.99 on the menu. Next came our Detroit Style Sicilian Supreme pizza cooked the way we ordered it. It cost $15.99 Very cheesy and plenty of sauce. Autumn stopped by several times to check on us. I was also given a free dessert for mother's day (very nice) I chose the Italian Lemon w Cheesecake feeling to take home! Autumn brought us to go boxes and I asked for Marinara to go for the Garlic Knots. Our check was $30.99 w taxes and fees! I gave her a 20% tip. Will I go back? Maybe!! I will definitely not make the 44 mile trip one-way again to be ignored and I felt mistreated! The food was good, room for improvement always, but it was good. It was sad to see they tore out the gorgeous vintage Oak Wood High-back Booths that was once part of the original decor but I was glad to see the original marble bar! Interior was okay! But the Hostess serve was HORRIBLE!! No managers stopping by to check on us...so I'm sorry I can not recommend!! recently visited Milano's Italian Restaurant on the West Side for the first time as a walk-in customer, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I ordered a large meat lovers pizza with extra cheese and was told my order would be ready shortly. After waiting approximately an hour, I had to approach the counter and ask for an update. I was told the pizza was coming out of the oven and that it would be checked on. Nearly 20 minutes later, I was given a cold pepperoni and cheese pizza -- not the meat lovers pizza I ordered. The pizza was cold to the touch, appeared dried out, and did not look freshly made. When I brought this to their attention, it was taken to the back to be reheated rather than remade correctly. I live just around the corner, so there is no reasonable explanation for the pizza being cold upon pickup. read more

I took my son to Milano's Italian Restaurant this afternoon. It was divine. We ordered fried green tomatoes and mozzarella sticks for our appetizers. They have a housemade ranch dressing that is nothing more than absolutely scrumptious. The cheese in those mozzarella sticks went on for days. The tomatoes were perfectly seasoned. May I add that the fried green tomatoes were only $7.99? You can't find those at most restaurants and I thought that was a great deal. For our main courses, I chose the lasagna. It came with bread and a salad. The salad was quite good. It was loaded with cheese. Yum. And it had banana peppers in it. I ate a few bites, but then I saw my son eyeing it. Like any good mom, I slid the plate over to him to finish, lol. The bread hit the spot when I dipped it in that incredible ranch. I'm a big ranch girl. If you've got good ranch, I'm a happy customer. Now, that lasagna. Woo wee. It was soooooo good. It was meaty and cheesy. The sauce was perfect. It was extremely filling. I felt like a baby beluga after I got done. I'm still full more than 9 hours later. David ordered a small (10 inch) meat lovers pizza. He added mushrooms and onion. He has never been a mushroom person, so was a little surprised over that choice. He told me out of everything, he liked the pizza the best. He said it wasn't heavy or greasy. He used the words "light and well put together". Hmm, maybe one day he will be a food critic? For me, it was hard to pinpoint a favorite. Everything was so extremely good. Service was great. They were quick and friendly. Including the tip, all this food came to around $64. That's about the price of one two-hour tandem kayak rental at Sutton Lake, BTW. If you remember, I gave my son the choice of kayaking at Sutton or dinner and a movie in Charleston. Considering I would need to rent him a tandem kayak for himself because of his lineman size, I saved a whole heck of money today, lol. Winning!! read more

First time visitors, but it won't be our last food was excellent home made , service was very attentive and helpful, she recommended the Egyptian Musakah , I thought was very good - my wife got the lasagna, portions I thought were very big as a matter of fact we brought half of our meal home going to enjoy it again tomorrow like I said Home I didn't mention the price. We went here specifically because I can't have gluten, and it did not disappoint. I had the GF Alfredo pizza and added steak, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the garlic knots and steak roll, and he's still talking about the garlic knots & said he'd order the same thing again. We will definitely be going back. I spoke with a cook and he explained to me which of the pastas he could make GF for me & that they make them fresh in a separate pot. I can't want to go back and try pasta! read more

We love exploring local restaurants on our travels. Milanos was a delight. The atmosphere was quaint, the service friendly, and the food delicious! A must visit if you want some great Italian food! We had some basics- lasagna and a Greek pizza, but we also tried the ravioli appetizer and had salads with Greek dressing. All very tasty! read more

Very disappointing. I was so excited to check out a new restaurant. But when I walked in, the host (I assume) had his back to me and didn't even look up. When I got his attention he directed me to a waitress who ignored me while she did something with dressing and talked to the only other customer in the restaurant. There were boxes stacked on multiple tables and the place was empty. The host brought one menu without even asking how many were in the party. Then I realized they don't serve beer or wine. Asked if they plan to in the future and the waitress said no. A nice-ish Italian restaurant with no beer or wine? No thanks. Won't be back. read more

What a huge disappointment - we will not be back. Our waitress "Jay" was indifferent to rude. One of our entrees was gluten free Fettuccine Alfredo. It came out 20 minutes after the baked spaghetti entree and was inedible. The sauce was not creamy, just milk sitting below the pasta. When we arrived there were employee children roughhousing in the public area. In hindsight, we should have spoken to a manager and not be charged for this awful dish. This was a great experience. The Tour of Milian was a little bit of everything. Ravioli, Manicotti, spaghetti, and lasagna. The spicy penne with chicken was delicious as well. Very large salad portions too. We plan to be back soon! read more

We were so excited to try Milano's but were so disappointed. My husband got the chicken parm and I got the baked spaghetti. The portions were large but unfortunately it tasted so bad we barely ate a third of it. The sauce was sickening sweet. That's our one and only time to visit. read more
