They were quick to return my calls and very responsive. It was a fairly involved project as the beams in the original pergola went under the roof and attached to the house joists. They were very knowledgeable and have had a wide variety of experience, so this presented no problem for them and they were also able to reshingle the roofing that had to be removed for the project. They also gave me good aesthetic suggestions for the new pergola. The work was completed in a timely manner and they always had the area spotless at the end of a day. I will definitely be hiring them for future work at my home as their work was very high quality.

What we were left with was a multitude of problems costing us (his customer) thousands of dollars in weeks of lost time and material. 1. Tony would leave major messes and not clean up after himself from paint and drywall stains on the back patio, roofing debris all over the yard, he left our equipment dirty and would not return it clean as he received it. Many of these items he left his customer to clean up after him. 2. Tony was hired to do several tile jobs. He was close to the end on one job and was paid in full to finish as we had to leave to go pick up supplies. Well, Tony left too with our money and did not finish the fire place job. 4 months went by and we eventually had to finish it ourselves. 3. Tony was hired to do framing as he states on the side of his truck that he does construction. He built several walls, of which the main wall in the basement was a full 1" out of plumb. Another wall had a 1/2" gap between a king stud and the top plate. You could pass your hand between. 4. Tony was hired to do drywall. His drywall cuts are very amateur and we had to fix many problems around outlet boxes and corners. None of these he fixed. They were left for his customer to repair. 5. Tony pinched two wires behind drywall and one in particular he did not secure a wire in a ceiling and drove a screw through the wire shorting out the circuit. I informed Tony of these two issues and he pushed blame onto his customer as if we somehow cut the wire. 6. Tony was hired to do texture on two floors. He sped through the top floor leaving a obvious too light texture which we had 3 different textures in the house. He said he would fix the top floor but never showed up and his customer spent 3 days redoing the work over. Tony appears to do whatever it takes to get paid then vanish. He leaves unfinished work, and large messes for his customer to deal with. He is not a licensed contractor but charges like one. It is in my opinion that he is a shark scamming homeowners out of money. He can do tile decent but he is still an amateur posing as a licensed general contractor. He is doing jobs for other people that require permits and not pulling them. Do not hire this hustler.

We recently purchased a home that was used as a rental for the last few years. Needless to say,…read morethe walls and flooring had been neglected and were in need of being refreshed. Colorado Woodworks was recommended to us, they responded to us quickly, came out and surveyed the job, made excellent suggestions and got us an estimate in a very timely manner. As the job was being done, we had a few changes that they incorporated without missing a beat and even found some damage in the subfloor that they mitigated as they went along. We have already hired them to take care issues with the exterior....and to remove a non load bearing wall to open up our living room. In other jobs we have had in other parts of the country, we have had to plan to clean up after the job. We were pleasantly surprised that the team cleaned up to the point you would not know they were there. In a world where most companies overpromise and under deliver, George Sr, Colene and George Jr at Colorado Woodworks is a breath of fresh air. They do EXACTLY what they say they will do. I would not hesitate to use them again (and we are), and I can't recommend them strongly enough.

(And you can save yourself the time of reading my review by just looking at the photos.) Sterling was able to schedule me the same week I called for drywall repair (now I know why). I only needed him to fix a small wall dent and fill multiple nail holes from wall art, which I could have done myself, but I was busy packing up the house. I was optimistic at first because Sterling showed up on time and was very friendly and talkative. I wanted to get other things done while he worked, so I pre-marked all of the repair areas with tape. But instead of just getting to work on his own, Sterling insisted that I point out each nail hole and watch while he applied large amount of mud/joint compound to the tiny holes. It seemed like overkill, but I trusted his much espoused "expertise." I was so distracted by his constant talking that I missed the fact many of the holes weren't filled at all. Here's the crazy part, Sterling then hauled out his industrial texture sprayer and proceeded to blast the tiny nail holes with huge patches of texture. No measures to protect the adjacent walls, trim, baseboards, and flooring were taken--anything within a five foot radius was fair game. And since many of the holes were still open after the mud, he just over sprayed them massive amounts of texture. Dear readers, this is the most shameful part of my experience--I actually helped him wreck my own walls. He couldn't lift his air compressor up and down the stairs on his own, so I had to stay with him and help him lift it. He also asked me to fetch my own heavy ladder from the garage because he (a wall repairman) didn't bring one. So, everyone, I actually watched this massacre first hand. I honestly thought he knew better than I did as a professional contractor, but he constantly talks as a distraction so that you don't speak up despite the sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. It really is a complete con. All this to say that I had a huge mess to clean up and lots of repainting to do--and I was only charged $900 for the trouble (I guess there was no discount for assisting him with the work :-). Seriously, RUN from this business, people. Not only does Sterling exhibit serious signs of senescence, both mentally and physically, he only cares about getting paid as I got the impression that he's in dire financial straits. I actually cancelled the check I gave him after I gathered my wits about me. When I called him to discuss how badly the repairs looked after painting them, he offered to come back out fix them so he could get his money. OVER MY DEAD BODY, readers, would I let this man get near my home again. We finally agreed that I would pay him $600 for this disaster, and I told him that I would thank him with an honest review. . .

Firstly, the good things. These guys responded quickly and were on site and ready to work. The not…read moreso good stuff, the initial estimate was $6500 and then that went up to $8000 and then finally came in at $9000 even though they did less work than the original estimate called for (didn't have to tear up another room). A certain line item got added to the final invoice for $500 that was not reflected on the initial invoice or communicated that it could become a cost. After multiple emails and jumping on a call they were unwilling to see that there estimate was way off and wouldn't reconcile the $500 line item or the lack of transparency from their initial estimate. They also damaged the trim work when removing it and then didn't admit to it. Only after being pushed (after initially denying it) did they admit they had damaged some. Use with caution.
