I remember visiting this course a long time ago, and overall it was a good experience. The staff service and the restaurant were both very nice and welcoming. The facilities felt comfortable and well managed. The golf course itself had a slightly busy and somewhat unorganized atmosphere. It's not an overly difficult course, but my score wasn't great--especially because the greens were quite challenging. Reading them was tougher than expected. I heard that the original 36 holes were redesigned into 18 holes. One advantage is that it should be cooler and more comfortable during the summer. Thanks to the recent rain, the fairways and overall course conditions were decent and enjoyable. Overall, it's a pleasant course with friendly service, but be prepared for tricky greens. read more

Thank you Miles Square for reminding me what this country has become in some places. I went into the clubhouse to ask where hole 4 is so I can catch up to my 18 year old son playing in his first little tournament to support him. I was told "We can't just let you walk out there" by Bob. I spent 11 years helping manage the West Coast swing for FedEx and politely speaking, Miles Square is not the Riviera CC. I also recently witnessed my buddy's son qualify for the US Open at Shinnecock at the Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento and the Junior Championships at Torrey Pines. Both let everyone support their loved ones highlighting golf at its greatest moments on the most prestigious golf courses- a true family affair. But not at Miles Square which last time I checked was a public course.. Thank you for turning a day of support for my son into a pretty disappointing moment. Thanks for not letting a dad be a dad. Maybe the bullet proof glass in the pro shop should've given me a clue that this place isn't a very good representation of what the game is meant to mean. You've lost your way. It's ok to smile and enjoy life sometimes fellas. Wish you nothing but the best. Looking at other posts, my guess is the morale and culture is pretty low here which should yield a fantastic opportunity to host the next LIV tournament. read more

Absolutely terrible experience with the GM at Milesquare Golf Course. I'm just a regular golfer who reached out to ask a few simple questions about how their group booking process works. The GM, Scott, responded with one of the rudest and most condescending messages I've ever received from a golf professional. Instead of answering basic questions or even being slightly polite, he acted like I was wasting his precious time and basically told me to go screw myself. The arrogance was actually shocking. If this is how the GM treats regular golfers just trying to understand how to book with his course, I can't imagine how poorly they treat their actual customers. Extremely disappointing. Definently the worst customer service experience I have ever received at any establishment. Will not be playing here and will be telling my golf group to avoid this place as well. read more

I've been to their 18-hole night golf couple times. Huge golf course. Bright and pure fun. I think they closed around 10pm so I suggest try to make it to 18th hole before they closed as they turn off the lights. Lol. I also come here to range often. Small bucket cost $8 and Large bucket cost $16. Clean, quiet, spacious enough in-between golfers. Their last call to get golf balls at 9pm. So plan to come early. I Love coming here. This course was a blast. Great for beginners as it is wide open. There was a great mix of par 3,4 & 5's. Pace of play started out a bit slow but really picked up throughout the day. The food was good, quick and convenient at the turn, and the price for food and course was pretty affordable. I rode in a cart that had the distances on it, and a digital score card, which was super helpful. The distances given were actually quite accurate, compared to my range finder. This is a convenient location to get some practice in. This review if more for their driving range. While parking and location is easy to get to, maintenance needs to be evaluated a bit with their practice area. Their mats are warped and torn. While I appreciate various terrain to play on, torn matts and ball housing can get updated. The area you're shooting into is like a desert. Not that it really matters about your skill, but driving a ball into the abyss of sand is just sad.. Other driving range I've visited has lush green fields with terrains and well-groomed greens. This puts you into the mental space of serenity and of an actual game scenarios. I do like the trees here that provides nice shades in the evening from the sun. Overall, it's an ok spot to get some practice in. Their putting area is decent at least. read more

What a poor excuse of a golf course. Dont do any business with these people! They are very rude and clearly they have a male clientele which I didn't fit the bill. Our tee time was 4:15 and we made it by about 3:55pm. Apparently that wasn't good enough. They got mad we didn't ask for rentals ahead, like what's so wrong with getting it when we get there? Ollie, Kevin, and Nathan are scums. On top of it they told us not to come back. As if there aren't better golf courses elsewhere. Note the terrible rating and stay clear! Me and my friend went golfing at Mile Square golf course today as a twosome. Iam in excellent shape and my friend walks the course and uses it as exercise. I just recently had a total knee replacement and I need to use a cart to play 18 holes. The guy in the pro shop tells me as of Saturday they don't let single players to take a cart. I already paid 70 dollars for the cart and 18 holes. He tells me that I need to go in the cart of the twosome we were paired with. I saw the people we were playing with and it was a small Asian lady with a mask on that does not speak English. I had to ask my friend to put his electric golf cart back in his car to ride with me. I then had to pay an additional 18 dollars for my friend to ride with me. Then they let the Asian lady go out in the cart by herself. My friend and I are single digit handicap and the Asian lady in the cart hit every club 20 yards. It took us 6 hours to finish 18 holes. You need to fix this problem, we were always able to take a Cart out as a single player. This course will lose a lot of business if this continues. Iam sure you're going to get a lot of complaints about this. Horrible customer service!! read more

Its Two Star 2uesday again! MS golf course in FV on Warner at the foot of Ward (b/t Brookhurst & Euclid). If I am not mistaken, the original course was built in the 60's and offered tree lined bending fairways. A newer course was added 20 or so yrs ago, and the original course was changed w/ some new holes. The newer course was closed this year, so the original course now has more holes from the newer course. Positives: Good challenge w/ bending fairways and a fair amount of trees; Reasonably priced; Close proximity to HB. Negatives: New, old course is contrived. #15 is a par 3 that was part of a hole from the newer course; Par 74 - Most courses are par 72-71-70 (amount of shots it will take you to play the course if you are an excellent golfer. Most amateurs take 80-90+ shots to complete a course. I have never heard of a par 74. The course would be better off w/o the contrived par 3. And lastly, the deal killer is the play is slow AF! We were behind a group of ladies who acted like it was the Book of the Month Club, and discussed every shot. We waited on every shot of every hole. You do not have to be a good player to be a fast player. Hit your ball when its your turn and go to the next shot. I complained to the pro shop and they placated us by coming out, but didn't do anything to speed up play. In the past I have had a marshal tell my group we were playing slowly. We finished our round in 3 hours, 1:20 faster than is allotted: WTF?! There is no way I would return to this old, new, contrived course. The new layout leaves much to be desired, and the course plays slow AF. read more

I have an 8 year old son who had a day off of school. I rented a cart and went to play at twilight. As I gave my ticket to the man at the booth he asked about my son, I told him he was just going to watch. I went out to the tee box, hole #1 and they told me to go back to the clubhouse and check in my son. So I went in there, they charged me $20 so that my son could sit in the cart and watch me play. I didn't think such heartless greed existed and he's been let on many courses thus far no charge. I don't recommend this course unless everyone is playing. They paired me up with 3 other people and they were all flabbergasted about what happened. read more

We played Mile Square yesterday (8/30) , coming from Long Beach. Here's my take: The facility is well organized and efficient. We showed up 45min early, we're given a cart key, told to load our bags and they'd let us know when to check-in and pay. We went to ball machine ( paid $16) for a topped off bucket of clean balls in great shape. Proceeded to driving range and hit from new golf mats. Practiced putting and we're called to Pro Shop to pay and check in. Yes, the guys at the counter are no nonsense and efficient. Took our recept to the starters booth ( a actual booth) checked in again with our complete group and we're off to 1st tee. I mention this in detail because so many courses are run loosely without direction which causes a jam up. The Course: The course has wide Fairways and is very forgiving. Bunkers are mostly shallow and easy enough to get out of. Sand in the Bunkers is in pretty good condition and you could dig in for a nice chip out. The tee boxes could use some care. Mostly level, but lots of divots. The Greens were rolling medium and we're in good shape. ( players fix your divots!) Mostly, I came across fresh divots from the group ahead. The trees are trimmed up off of the ground so if you get into trouble it's pretty easy to get out. All in all, it was a good course to play. We'll come back. read more

Was in town and was invited to join my uncle (who is a member) for a round of golf. Living in Arizona, I am pretty spoiled with all of the golf courses in the valley. Since I used to live in SoCal, I knew what to expect from a golf course in California. However, playing here really reminded me how much I missed playing some of the courses in SoCal. Tree lined fairways, green rough, and easier to play. We had a great time, it was a great experience. Driving range is decent, only issue I had was you had to hit from mats. The staff was very friendly. Glad I had a chance to play this course, and home I can visit again soon. read more

Planning a graduation party, 65 people on Memorial Day weekend. Long distance planning from Vegas to Orange County is no easy task! Yet Mile Square Golf Course Banquet services was the best choice for our event. Comparing prices with other venues and restaurants, accommodation space, menus Mile Square was the most affordable, prompt to respond and very helpful on helping me plan. We had a bartender, linens, Italian buffet style delicious everyone raved about the food. Extremely accommodating with all our requests and the pricing unbelievable specially with all the food pricing around going up. Great service, awesome party! read more

I am going to start this review stating that I did have the wrong phone number attached to the tee time. We arrived at 12:38 for a 12:37 tee time. I was told that we were late and that our tee time was twenty minutes earlier. When provided with the information and correct tee time the employees became very rude. Stating that we needed to read the fine print. We have played at 25 different courses in CA From Newport Beach to San Diego and never not one time did the professionals at those courses refuse to work with us to get us on the course. There were no smiles no greeting as the golfers checked in including us. As we were leaving an older man came out from the back ready to fight. Clearly this place needs management and additional employee training on how to treat people. My son and I both own our own company's and would not be in business treating people the way these employees treated us. The only thing the older guy could say is you didn't read the fine print. Be cautious dealing with the employees working at this course, very short tempers and horrible customer service. Please pass this along to the people that need to make the proper corrections to make playing this course a pleasure. read more

great local public golf courses. the fairways and greens are maintained well for a public course. there are a lot of trees and shade. there is some water as well. staff is friendly in the pro sho as well as the starter. it doesn't get too crowded so you don't have to wait too much. we finished our round in 4 hours so that was great with minimal waiting around. read more

Poor greens, bumpy, spotty, slow... They used to be much, much better... Rude staff. Policies, such as "don't come in here until we call you" and surly answers to simple questions do not make this a pleasant experience. I used to play these courses a lot. I do not enjoy the atmosphere or the course anymore. It is a shame. It used to be good, but they don't seem to care... maybe they should close this one, too. My last visit here was only my 3rd time playing, all on the Players course. What I can say on all three visits is this: The Players course is the "newer" of the two courses. Course condition - immaculate. The greens are / have always been well maintained, the fairways are always in great shape, but this last time the beaches were like hitting out of concrete!!! I know this because I spent way more time in the traps than I care to admit... Clubhouse / Pro Shop folks, the starter and the rest of the staff are great and the speed of play isn't too bad, especially when you consider that fives ones are an option here. Cost of a round (with cart) is in the $50 range (weekdays). Ample parking available weekdays or weekends. Next time I'm gonna try the other course!!! read more

It is easy to spot a business that has given up on improving. Just walk into the pro shop or restaurant. Feels like visiting the 90's, and not the good part. The staff is gruff and unhappy. The food is as tired as they are. You can't order food over the phone for the turn, so when you get to the turn it takes forever, and then the ranger yells at you because you are holding up the course. Makes no sense. Each trip into the pro shop is painful because the head pro is so mean to guests. Like uncomfortable mean. Why would you talk to customers that way? The only star this place gets is for the course conditions, obviously someone else in charge of that. The greens are usually really nice, far better than most public courses. Hopefully they get new management, this place has so much wasted potential. Go for the good course conditions and price, stay away if you care about customer service or rounds in under 5.5 hours. read more

I have breakfast or lunch there usually at least once a week. The food is good and reasonably priced. However this review is about their bartender/server, Suzette. I usually sit in the bar, even though I don't drink alcohol, so that I can have Suzette as my server. She's awesome. She's friendly and efficient. She has my ice tea refills with extra lemon slices before I even realize I need them. She's great at handling the bar and making sure that the food comes out hot and with all the extra sides I ask for. I try to go when I know she's scheduled because even though the other servers are all very nice and decent servers, they just aren't as efficient as Suzette. This review is for the driving range only. I came here on a late Friday night in the mood to try a new driving range. I put into the lot and it was nearly empty. Which is perfect because then I can enjoy the driving range by myself! I located the pro shop and the gentleman inside was super friendly! The driving range is beautiful and I loved that it had a ton of stalls free. I also enjoyed have 90% of the driving range to myself. The only downfall was them not having a lot of distance markers. Meaning the signs that will tell you how far away a certain flag is. They have a few but none near where I was. I only saw some on the far ends and none in the middle. Overall this is a great driving range and I'll be back again because of how quiet it is. read more

I have played here several times with my wife and a friend of ours. They have two courses (Classic/Players), we choose *players course everytime we play. The greens are very well kept and are challenging. The only thing is the drive range is small and now with social distance'ing its even smaller. This place is a great place to practice and the green fees are very reasonable and now with spring and summer coming will be very busy again. read more

Hello, Today, October 10, we arrived in the pro shop at 12:10 for our 12:20 tee time and we informed that it was given away. We were then told that your policy is you must check in 15 minutes prior to your tee time. The problem is that, that is not indicated on your website. Neither of the 2 employees were able to indicate there that policy is located on the website. I had a screen shot of the message that comes up after booking the tee time and it is not indicated on their either. It is no where is the pro shop as I also checked every single sign, nothing. I was informed that the staff called me prior to giving away our tee time. The phone literally rang as we were walking in and I did not have the ability to put my bag down in the middle of your busy parking lot to grab it. Further more, I was insulted by a very sexiest comment that your pro shop staff member asked me while I was inquiring where I can find your booking policy. "Ma'am have you ever been golfing before?" I was so taken aback that he would assume because I was a woman that I might not understand the rules of golf. I highly doubt that would have been asked to my boyfriend who had already walked our. That kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially with other patrons in the pro shop. How embarrassing. You may, or may not be aware, but courses have completely changed their policies post Covid-19. In fact, Costa Mesa Country Club requests that you DO NOT arrive more than 15 minutes before your tee time. I would totally understand that you must uphold your policy had it been indicated literally anywhere. But the fact that the pro shop staff, more than one of them, could find no reference to that policy is completely infuriating. It completely ruined our entire day as there is no other golf course with an available tee time. I have never, ever experienced anything like this in all the years I have been golfing. To give away a tee time booked a week prior, even though we arrived and checked in 10 minutes prior to our tee time is nearly unbelievable. Have played here a few times. The facility is decent. Much of the fanfare usually commences with the overall yardage of the layout -- over 8,000 yards. Given the layout of the area -- over a mile high -- the gains made by the thinner air effectively scales the yardage to an effective total of 7,300 yards. read more

Wait 15 minutes between each shot. Stack twosomes behind foursomes. Honestly a joke. I'm playing in a twosome and see a giant gap in play if we skip two holes so we do it. Group ahead of us is on the next hole, group behind is a hole behind just teeing off. Everyone's happy, right? Wrong. This course is usually busy. They have a great range and practice facilities. The Classic Course has a nice layout. The Players course was rumored to be closing but I'm not sure if that happened yet? They have a decent bar and casual restaurant. They also have a snack bar window. I would play this course more often but it's not always the easiest to get on to without a reservation. The proshop staff is pleasant. The marshals are also nice. Pace of play is acceptable considering how much traffic they get. The greens are relatively easy to read and better than most public high traffic courses. Tee boxes are flat. read more

Find another course!! They over book this place always, 30 minutes per hole, not me. When we complained after a few holes and wanted our money back to manager Kevin he refused and bragged they make 6 mill per year here. Money grab and do not give a damn about customer service or pace of play. The game is NOT meant to be like this at Mile Square. It was like a cattle drive, not the game of golf. NEVER again. Worst experience in my golfing life and I have played since I was 14, in my 60's now. Ready play and golf Etiquette are the basics. Slow play is the worst and this course/how it is currently run - IS THE WORST!!! It's very simple - this course is always overbooked. I mean you have tee times and a proper space between those times. My boyfriend started playing this golf course 40 years ago. We enjoy spending the evenings at the practice range with our dog Rocky. They had two courses but they recently shut one down. It was a big disappointment. The greens and fairways are usually in really good shape. If your hungry all of the soups are fantastic. It's close to home so good place to practice. read more
