The wife and I ordered a new Speed queen dryer from Miles Appliance they texted me and said it would be delivered between 9am and 12 noon . We got a second text stating they would be later because the technician was running behind. I called at 3 and they said they are not coming because a part was broken to change from natural gas to propane and they would not be out till Friday . I can't stand a lier if your short on help just say it . I ask the guy what are you going to do for us we stayed home all day waiting for you ? his reply was nothing it will be there Friday . I will never buy another appliance from them again . Home Depot and Lowe's at least try to satisfy the customer. This a warring stay away from Mikes Appliances . read more

I placed an order for some Green Egg accessories and did not hear from them. I went to the Shrewsbury store to check on the order and it was like pulling teeth to get someone to assist me. You would think that they could just look it up in their computer but they kept fumbling around. As my tone got louder no one went to help the poor salesperson that started to assist me. I got the feeling that they did not place the order but they wouldn't say. They told me it would be a week more. It did come in. Never shopping there again. read more

Bed purchasers beware. Their floor models are well broken in. They are quick to tell you that, if you do not like your new mattress, they can swap it with another model/firmness - you just have to pay the difference. What they don't tell you is that you have to sleep on the mattress FOUR WEEKS before they will initiate the swap and then you have to wait another 2-3 weeks for delivery. AND WORSE, if you bought the expensive model, they do not refund any of the downgrade (nowhere is that in writing or told to you). Further, the scheduler gave my wife a boatload of rudeness and attitude about the swap to the point where I had to go back in the shop to straighten things out. Our second mattress arrived with thread/sewing defects (obviously they send factory seconds for the swaps). It also does not have the softness of the display model in the store. I finally bought a gel top as I am done with Miles. So, if you are willing to go 7 weeks without sleep, pay premium prices, and can tolerate the sweet service disappearing after the sale, then buy the CHEAPEST models first and upgrade only if needed. - Previous repeat customer (grill, accessories) who won't ever be back read more

Service scheduling is horrible. At least a week for someone to look at the appliance...then the parts have to be ordered. This has happened to me on multiple occasions. Calling into the store is a whole other issue. Some of the men there need a course in customer service. Nothing like being hung up on. They basically just blow you off. I will not be buying any more appliances fro Miles. Their service technicians are stretched too thin and can't give the prompt service that should be given. They have a big service issue, for sure. In the mean time, I'll be going to the laundry mat and dropping $100 a pop because I'm still waiting for service on a 1 year old GE washing machine. Then I'll probably have to wait for a part and another service call, at least a week later. I AM DONE! read more

I bought a GE refrigerator, less than 2 years old. I bought the extended warranty which I was told by the sales person everything was covered inside and out. The door is starting to rust. Warranty company said they will not cover it, Miles said nothing they can or will do about it.I thought going to a small business I was helping out the small person I would get better customer service. I guess not. I would not buy anything from Miles again. My daughter had similar experience with them. Seems to be a trend with Miles, sell you appliances and forget about you. read more

Have been customers for 16 years . Have had 2 encounters since the pandemic started and have been disappointed in customer service. Arrogant, non-helpful receptors. Technically fine but getting to technician was not easy. Sales....forget it...they have nothing in stock and can't get anything for "months". read more

I was at the store today (6/28/2021) between 2:45 and 3:15 and left totally frustrated! No one came to help me. A lady was on the phone the entire time I was there, with her back to the showroom, talking to someone wanting information on washing machines. I made eye contact with someone in a back workroom but he never offered to find a sales person to assist me. I would like the "phone" lady to know she lost a sale! I was not planning on shopping around for a dishwasher but went elsewhere and purchased one today. Common courtesy would be to acknowledge I was there and let me know she would be right with me or get someone from the back to help me. I have been a customer for over 10 years and purchased all our kitchen appliances and washer/dryer from you. I will not return to your store again. read more

Excellent service and delivery. They come the time they give you, no "half a day window". Installation much better and less expensive than the big box stores. We purchased our washer and dryer from Miles many years ago. Still working well but the occasional issue. The dryer was not working so we called for troubleshooting help. Very responsive but we determined a service call was needed. Chris Young showed up on time (actually called an hour before to let us know quite closely when he would arrive). He worked on the dryer and determined he could solder something vs replacing the whole panel (at much higher cost). Quick work to fix and he was out of there. Very responsive, and polite while fixing our issue at a lower cost than expected. Well done Chris and Miles! read more

Leaking appliance for about 2 months now. 2 different service technicians, one informed me nothing was wrong. Was told to take pictures which I did. Called again 1month ago and was told would order a part. A week later, was told part would take awhile to come in. Just got off the phone with store rep. Saying has no record of that but will get right on it. We will see...I will update my review if the problem is rectified. read more

I don't normally take the time to write reviews but I feel like this time it is warranted. I recently ordered a new suite of appliances from Miles. In light of the recent events in the world, I felt very strongly about supporting a local business. I did just that and unfortunately I was very disappointed. My appliances were ordered in March but due to the virus not delivered until early May. My opening for the microwave/oven area was larger than the unit to be installed. A gap at the base of my wall oven was left undone of about 2.5 feet x 2.5 inches while they waited for an outsourced business to make me a stainless steel insert piece. I was extremely patient due to the COVID situation. I contacted Miles numerous times by email and phone. As of today, I still do not have the insert to cover the opening. Their attention to finishing a project with follow up excuses were very disappointing. They claimed the insert was to be outsourced to another company but the "company" did not come through with the insert piece. Instead of looking for another alternative, they left me hanging and my kitchen unfinished! Perhaps Miles should not align themselves with other businesses that don't deliver. Their follow up to this situation was even more disappointing. Miles unfortunately has lost me as a repeat customer. read more

I have bought 2 appliances, a dishwasher and a microwave, from Miles over the past 2 1/2 years. The dishwasher's control panel died, thankfully, one month before the warranty expired and they replaced it. Now after a $85 service call they tell me the motor is dying and would cost $300 to repair. The dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old. I also had a microwave whose control panel also decided to die, this time a few months after the warranty expired. After another $85 service call I was told it would be several hundred dollars to fix. The microwave was only a little over a year. So I am left with the impression that the appliances that Miles sells are crap. I will be shopping for a new dishwasher but my experience has left me disgusted with the Maytag and Whirlpool brand. read more

The staff is attentive and return your calls, and are very well educated on their products- no 'hard' sells either! Our refrigerator died over Thanksgiving and these guys went above and beyond to get us a new fridge within 24 hours after we went in the evening of Black Friday. If they had any available they would have brought us a loaner and everything. The guy doing the install went above and beyond to hook everything up and make sure it was working properly. We will definitely be back for any major appliances in the future. Selection is limited but still very high quality, and they'll tell you why they are selective too. read more

You can't go wrong buying your appliances here, unless of course you want them to work. Perhaps you're thinking "it's okay if they don't work, I will buy the extended warranty!". But alas, my friend, this way of thinking will only cause you misery in the end when you find you call for service every few weeks and yet the problems don't get fixed. Every call will get you a yet another new diagnosis for the same problem that you've had almost a year. If I had to make a recommendation to you, dear reader, I would recommend that instead of wasting your time and money dealing with Miles Maytag you should use that money to buy copious amounts of alcohol so that you can stay sufficiently inebriated and won't care that you haven't been able to wash your laundry for 3 weeks. read more

Called and scheduled an appointment for Miles Maytag to come out to look at our wash machine as we we were getting codes and the door would lock. They came out for 15 minutes, ran through the cycles and they told me nothing was wrong with it. They said perhaps we were using too much detergent that caused the F codes to appear. We use one Tide Pod, that's it. They charged $135 for their 15 minute visit. A week later, machine locked up again. The technician was stumped what could be wrong with it. He came back out, this time for 10 minutes, and put his mouth on the hose and blew into it, dislodging something in the hose he said. They had the nerve to charges us another $85. When we complained, the owner stated they were the only service people in town, so basically tough luck. Had they correctly diagnosed the problem the first time, I wouldn't be out the extra $85. Truth be told, they weren't worth the $135 to begin with, and then to add insult with the uncaring attitude of the owner. Never again. read more

I needed a thermal fuse for a gas dryer. This part is .79c from aliexpress, $3.00 from Amazon. They charged me $19 plus tax. Almost 20 bucks for an 80 cent part. I recognize that retail is expensive and that they need to make a living but that's a ridiculous markup. F this place. They're thieves. read more

I read the complaints and I laugh..people complain and blame the appliance repair companies...not knowing that ALL the appliances sold today are C R A P...!! I have worked on appliances for over 40 years and have seen the industry from the inside out...the days of 30 year maytag appliances are LONG gone...!! the worst brands are LG SAMSUNG FRIGIDARE and GE (just sold out to a foreign company) as did frigidaire to a company that makes vac cleaners ..!!! THe brand we have the least amount of problems with is whirlpool... I am in another area and have no connection with Miles...and I feel for any company or person that has to work on todays crap..!! We recently updated all of our kitchen appliances at Miles. Great selection and the most knowledgeable staff around. Totally professional and quality personnel to deal with. Don't waste your time at the big box stores. Installation was flawless. Unfortunately we did not buy our washer and dryer here. We had Miles service our dryer and they are the best. They're technicians (Dave and Mike) we're honest and up front with their diagnosis and repairs. Their service department was friendly and worked with us to schedule a good time to service our dryer. If there was a negative star - I would give it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! They will scam you out of the money and not repair it right. They do not disclose when you call how much they will charge you for the "service call" and how overpriced and unreliable their service is! My microwave is working but only at 80% and the fridge is so far - so good (hopefully will last!). Mike is rude and unhelpful, the only one that is worth dealing with is Phil. But regardless, they will bill you THE SECOND time so get ready for that bill in the mail even if you already paid at the time of the service! STAY AWAY!!! This is hard to rate because some of the experience was really good and some really bad. We bought a refrigerator and dishwasher from Miles. I went to Miles specifically because they are local and not a big box store (because I hate big box stores) but unfortunately the experience was still quite disappointing at Miles. They did some of the basics very well - good in-store shopping experience and good financing (12 months no interest with payments required). And of course the frig and dishwasher are very good. The problem came with delivery and communication. In the store on 10/10/15 we were told that delivery would be in a week. I already thought that was a very slow (especially in this age of two-hour Amazon deliveries which after all is their competition) but didn't say anything because it was no emergency and I assumed that they would adjust the interest start date and promotional financing end date to match the actual delivery date. The frig (which was the bulk of the purchase) wasn't actually delivered for 54 days (12/17/15) and when I contacted their finance company (brandsource) they refused to adjust the adjust the financing terms such that my 12 month financing is now actually about 10 months. Worst of all, after the initial discussion in the store Miles never reached out to advise us about the status of our delivery. We finally had to call them. Irritatingly, they delivered the dishwasher in November (a good month late) but failed to communicate to us that ONLY the dishwasher was being delivered on that day. We had assumed that the frig would come also that day so we had spent a couple of hours taking stuff out of the frig and cleaning it and all that was a waste of time. When we asked the delivery guy why deliveries were late he indicated that business is booming because they changed locations! I'm glad business is booming for Miles but that's not helpful to those of us waiting for two months for a frig. Bottom line: good financing plans and good merchandise but communication and delivery very disappointing. I can't say I'll NEVER go there again but if I do I'm going to have to ask some hard questions about delivery and communication (which we really shouldn't need to do with a local dealer). read more
