Was referred to this place from my employers after struggling to find a mechanic who would be able to fix my car. Buddy had my car for a couple months trying to find parts. In that time his technician got into an accident with my car. Fine, they'll fix it and get to working on the real problem. Over the holidays, the owner of the shop decides to leave my vehicle on the street outside of his lot. Tuesday morning I get a call from VPD. "Sir, someone has broken into your car and your car is filling with rain. I call Arbutus service centre, leave a msg, don't hear back. I call back at noon the next day, speak to the owner. "Oh it's not my responsibility where your car is left, I won't be taking any responsibility for the damage caused."
You couldn't even call me to give me the option to move my car out of your location if you didn't have time to work on it or it was taking space or was going to sit there over the holidays. That's what you do Steve, you call the client and say "hey, parts haven't come in, I don't have room to store your car, can you come pick it up? I'll call ya when the part is in and you can bring it back. You DON'T leave the vehicle on the street, quite simple.
My car being broken into is not what bothered me, nor the fact that I trusted my vehicle with this mechanic or that I spent 5k and the mechanical issue still persisted. It was the shitty attitude and absolute lack of any ownership that made me loose 1000% respect for this person and his business. If that's the new norm, bring your car to a mechanic but you can't trust they'll keep your car safe, I call bullshit. Steve Hennessy, your behaviour, business practise and shit attitude after the fact.....poor poor poor absolutely sh** customer service. Your defiance, arrogance at how you practise business left me with the worst taste in my mouth. I am on my way out of this city and all you did was remind me why I cannot stand where humanity has reached. I looked at you, the experience and just thought "man, people are so awful"
Had to scarp my car I was in love with. Now I don't have anything to move with. You ruined my last moth in Van. I hope you can live with this truth. It was in fact 100% your responsibility to keep my vehicle safe when you take that vehicle in. I trusted you to keep it safe. Had it been your own car, your mechanic left it on the street and someone broke into it, you'd be singing a different tune. But you weren't able to empathize were you? No, you just thought of yourself and how to cover your own ass. Since it's 2023, humanity is at its worst, you decided to screw me. Live with that. I strongly believe in karma and I believe yours will, has, is coming. Zero respect for you, absolute zero.
You shouldn't advertise on your website things you simply do not practise. Lol your customers come first? Yeah right!
