My experiences so far in the 5 or 6 times I've been in: they're honest, they do good work and have experience with Japanese imports, and they charge fair prices. They let you know what needs to be done and what might be "good to do" soon, but don't pressure you into getting non-essential work done (unless there's efficiency to be had because they'll be working on that part of your vehicle and you'd save on labour because they're already in there vs. doing it next time when they're not working in that part of the vehicle and your labour charges would be higher). I'd recommend RJD to anyone who wants good service, no bullsh*t, and friendly people. Plus the location is convenient (for me).

I used Bruno Automotive in 1994 I was satisfied with their work, I was happy to hear that Buno was able to get my car back on the road, especially since other mechanics didn't want to take on such a project. The bill was expensive, at the same time after reviewing my bill many times, & doing research. My bill was well justified, infact Bruno solved a problem without an extra charge, I guess the problem worked itself out from all the work Bruno Automotive did on my car, which was after I had my engine rebuilt in 1995 my engine lost horse power/it didn't kick in to warp speed when I floor my car going up the cut on the #1freeway heading west. I thought this power was lost forever. I would have paid anything to get my additional horse power back, now it's back without any additional costs. Yippee!! I can't say enough about Colton, Jessica, & Ted, their work exceeded my expectations, I would recommend anyone to take their vehicles to Bruno Automotive. I found their customer service to be so great that I never went back to Weissach, where I had previously done all my maintenance. That's nothing against Weissach, but I found James at Scan to be much better to deal with. Over the years they took very good care of my Porsche, and were always straightforward with what did and didn't need to be done, always offering the most cost effective long- and short-term options, even when that meant less business for their shop. They are certainly very knowledgeable about Porsches, and in my opinion they are the best shop in the city for this marque. I recently lost my Porsche due to an accident, and needed to find a replacement. The car had recently changed roles from a weekend fun vehicle to a daily driver. I was looking primarily at used Porsches and BMWs, and James was a huge wealth of knowledge in providing advice on what to watch out for with these older German performance cars. After several phone and email conversations, he recommended that a new VW GTI may be the best fun-to-drive option for my daily driver needs. I followed his advice and am very happy with my decision. I know this particular anecdote has nothing to do with repair & maintenance, but I just wanted to highlight Scan's excellent service for returning customers. I just find James and his crew to be very trustworthy, and they have made me a lifelong Scan customer as long as I own a German vehicle.

Their shop area is impeccably clean, an indicator of the way in which they operate their business. Yes, their hourly labour rate is not the cheapest in town, but these guys get done in 2-3 hours what shops charging lesser rates typically take 5-6 hours to do. Don't make the same mistake I did of using the cheaper guy just down the street from here who claims to specialize in "fine and performance automobiles" and cost me an entire engine in my AMG Mercedes, a close call as it failed at freeway speeds, and several thousands of dollars in ensuing legal bills.
