I came to switch tires and do alignment service to make sure everything is good when I leave. It took them almost 4 hours because they were overbooked and there was a long queue for the alignment machine. They changed the tires in an hour or so but 3 hrs for the alignment machine is ridiculous. They have the shop music blasting so loud that I could hear it as I arrived for my appointment. They also park a vehicle right at the Boundary Road entrance so it's partially blocking it. Not sure why they park a vehicle there, maybe to control the speed of people coming in. I saw one person needing to back up a little back onto Boundary Road, just to adjust to squeeze through. Not safe since Boundary is a busy road. Best to enter/exit from the Kitchener entrance. When my vehicle was ready, they didn't go over the invoice or alignment sheet. They just handed the invoice and told me the cost. I will go back to the previous location i used to go to, even if it's further away.

Bobby is conscientious in keeping me updated with car service info. Free coffee, tea and WiFi available in the waiting area. They seem well stocked in tires inventory and it's helpful that Kaltire labels their display tires with their own independent tire testing results, making it easy for a novice like me to shop for tires. Value - Tho I haven't done price comparison on their tire services with other places, they offer good value for me by having so many locations where you can trace your car service details and tire replacement info in their computer system at any KalTire store. Thus, I would return for convenience in tracking tire replacement and service history details.

I pulled in and they immediately ascertained the situation, and diagnosed I had four low tires, filled them and gave me recommendations going forward. Dave and his crew at Hyack Excel Tire saved the day!…read more We drove up from California in our brand new car to spend the holidays with out family here in Vancouver. Two days ago, the tire pressure in our right rear wheel was low. After filling and checking again overnight, we did indeed have a slow leak. We went to one of the larger tire shop chain stores, and they found a screw that had lodged near the inside edge of the tire. They said that it was in an unpatchable section of the tire, and we had to replace the tire. After taxes, it would have been $550! The major cost was in the tire, so we figured we would get the tire done closer to my in-law's place in New West so that we could just drop off the car for the day, then pick it up after it was done. We found Hyack on Yelp, and quoted a slightly lower price for the job. I brought the car in so that they could inspect it in-person. Dave took a look at the screw in the tire, and he said, "I think I can patch this." He said that he's seen this type of screw before (must be common occurrence with all the construction in New West or something) and that these were typically short, so the puncture was probably small. Dave said that he would have his guys take the tire off and look to see if they can patch it. If they couldn't, we would go with Plan B and order the new tire. We left the car for a couple hours and then Dave called and said he was able to patch it. As he suspected, it was a short screw, and the puncture on the inside was actually in the flat part of the tire where he could secure a patch. All together, $45 for the patch! Definitely saved us from replacing a brand new tire with another brand new tire! How is that for honesty? I would absolutely recommend Hyack for their reasonable prices, honesty and quick turnaround. And for the person who thinks that he can get a patch for $10, good luck. Maybe if you bought your tires from that shop, they would do it for a discount, but $10 hardly covers the labor. $45 was very reasonable. The large tire chain was going to charge us $56 and the dealership $150. Thanks Hyack! You saved our trip!

Last week, I sent my car to KalTire at Surrey BC have the tires balanced and rotated. My experience…read morethere was much less than satisfactory. Here's a summary: 1. I told the guy, Manpreet(?), I also needed the spare tire inflated. I had mentioned that earlier when I called but I requested that again just to be sure. I told them I have emptied the trunk and the spare tire is readily accessible. 2. They took my car and FOB but didn't offer any kind of written job order, which is strange and risky for me. 3. After they finished the job, the priority for the guy at the counter (a chinese guy) seemed to be simply collecting payment and little else. I had to ask to see the service report, which he had to retrieve from a garbage bin! 4. When I asked, the guy had no clue as to which way the tires were rotated. He made a guess and said it was cross rotated because my car was a 4-wheel drive, which my car wasn't! He then corrected himself and said the tires were rotated directionally (same side front to back). I dodn't think he knew what he was saying. 5. The notes on the service report said there was "rear edge wear on both fronts down to cords". I checked the tires after I brought the car home and found no such wear. 6. The report stated the tires had between 3/32 and 5/32 threads. I checked. My Michellin tires has around 32,000 km and still has more thread depth than that! 7. Report said the brakes were dry. The report recommended service. At 32K odometer, my 2018 Lexus brakes are still good!  8. Finally, I asked the guy whether the spare tire has been inflated as requested. He assured me it was. Not convinced, I demanded he ask the mechanic who worked on my car (JAXU?). The guy went and came back with the assurance that the tire was in fact inflated. Well, I was still not persuaded so we both went to car to have that verified. Lo and behold, the tire was NOT inflated.  Suffice it to say, I'm never going to KalTire again. Sloppy service! I should have known better than entrust my Lexus to these amateurs!

In the past I have gotten one full set of tires in late 2022 and have had to purchase multiple other tires due to nails on the road and such last one being in august. In which I had asked for an alignment done as well as I was there and I noticed a bit of pulling. However I came by a few weeks ago for a tire replacement for my front left tire to be replaced due to a flat that occurred two months prior I was assisted on the phone by James who on the phone seemed knowledgeable, and accommodating which was very helpful. However, when I had came in store I was talking to James about my concerns as my tire only popped due to poor alignment the tread towards the inner side has thinned out almost entirely which is due to poor alignment. I asked him how did it happen that quickly if the car was only used once or twice a week for three months, it does not make sense to me. He said too me that he didn't see it in the records ever being done in august so when I'm sitting in the lobby waiting for them to finish work on my car that I have specifically asked for what are they actually doing? He said he would throw in a free end inspection for me to make sure that nothing else is the real "problem" Less than 10 mins later they are pulling my car into the back and getting it on the lift five mins later coming out and blaming it on the bushing saying they can only install the tire but not align it for me never giving me a particular reason as too why. He insisted for me too book with them to have all the bushings replaced for 1500 dollars and that I'm just gonna have the same problem over and over until I fix it. For some reason I just had a uneasy feeling so two days later I drive it to a budget auto centre and PAID to have it inspected for any maintenance that would need to be fixed soon. And a hour in a half later he comes out with a detailed sheet. He kept me updated showed me things that needed to be replaced and why they needed to be. He informed me that my bushing are just fine.. but that my front right tire was about to go... so tell my why KAL TIRE never mentioned anything to me about it! Would they rather have me stuck on the road again just hoping I'd return? Yes my car is old yes it needs a lot of work.. but at the same time don't take advantage of someone just because you can. Just disgusting... budget mentioned my control arms will need some replacing coming up but there's nothing preventing an alignment from being done... I was going to post this sooner but I have been so upset and angry with this establishment.. but I'd rather have others know to go somewhere else!

Wow I have always had great service until now I had my brakes done here about a month ago and…read morelast week there was a grinding noise so I took it back to Westwood they put it on the hoist and said I cant see nothing not sure why its making a noise . Frustrasted I left thinking I have to cancel my holidays. The noise got worse so on the advise of a friend I went to Apel auto they put it on the hoist and they Discovered the bolt on the driver side holding the new break was gone. They replaced it at no charge I stopped by Westwood on my way home. And the same gentleman was there I told he what had happened and he basically blew me off again. After 30 yrs of recommending family and friends and using their service Iam sorry to say never again
