I also tried a Gel shot that was supposed to last 6 months. It was no better than the Steroid and lasted only a couple of months and then I was in pain again for the next 4 months. I finally found Pima Orthopedics who has a system that will really help. They have all of the modern equipment and staff that is the best. I have finished 4 of my 5 treatments that I was scheduled for and feel so much better. I am a kidney transplant and a kee replacement was out of the question as my replacement kidney is 25 years old. One thing I really like is that they believe in treating the whole person, not just an isolated symptom. I also like that there are private rooms rather than one of those big rooms where they have you use a treadmill etc. to take up your appointment time. In addition, Ken Lamm is well-respected for many of the treatment procedures he has come up with based on an understanding of the body and how it works. Julia is willing to try something new and she is often taking classes in how to use new techniques to treat you. She always asks what you need and goes from there. The office staff are friendly and nice. I couldn't be more pleased with the help I've received and how much it has improved my quality of life.

Everett is…read morefrom the great state of Hawai'i where he studied at Chozen-ji under Tanouye Roshi and Hoshikawa Roshi. Chozen-ji is a real deal Zen Buddhist temple tucked away in Kalihi Valley. Integral Bodywork is a combined practice of deep tissue body work, like rolfing but with a Zen twist, that releases muscles, emotional trauma, and pain. It's amazing how the body internalizes stress and trauma into muscle tension which, over prolonged periods, can affect the body's posture and alignment. Integral Bodywork combines Zen teachings with deep tissue bodywork and definitely releases the bad juju that your body has locked away. I have been an athlete for all my life and am a hard core jiu jitsu practitioner. As a girl, I routinely roll with guys 50+ lbs. heavier than myself and have sustained numerous muscular and ligament injuries. After my first session with Everett, the change in my posture was pronounced as my shoulders were finally able to stay back after years of being hunched. The second and third sessions dealt with my legs and sides- areas where I have suffered significant injuries in the past. I've done physical therapy for those same injuries and the money and time you waste doing dumb drills on a foam roller should really be spent with Everett instead. The sessions are $195 each for about 2 hours of intense work. If you have insurance, you go to a chiropractor first and then your insurance reimburses you for the cost. You can pay through your HSA too. Everett's a small guy so his weight limit for guys is about 180 lbs. If you're heavier than that, he can refer you to other therapists who are stronger. I've never felt uncomfortable with Everett since he's extremely professional and personable. I would give Everett 10 stars if I could because that's how good I feel after a session with him.

AKDHC's protocol does not allow the immediate posting of a patient's diagnostic results to its portal, including blood work and radiology procedures, until the patient's next visit, regardless of when it's scheduled. "It won't be reviewed until that time," is what the protocol says. That's an unacceptable practice for every patient. An AKDHC MD told me, "It doesn't want to deal with anxious patients concerned about results until the next visit." The tests, actually, are reviewed by the medical staff in case of immediate attention, but that's not disclosed to the patient. All AKDHC has to do to alleviate anxiety is to inform patients that the data has been checked and then post it to the portal. Nope, they won't do it. Often, however, you can find them elsewhere, such as the websites for the offices that performed the tests. I was informed of that after I raised my objection and said, "If I can get them elsewhere, there is justification to post them on your portal." Also, no, to that. BTW, as a patient, it is your right to get test results from AKDHC immediately. AKDHC appears indifferent to that right I asked the medical chief to respond to my concern, in writing, to justify this protocol, from a patient's perspective. I've yet to receive a response other than from the operations manager, who has no authority over this matter. For many reasons, this practice is unjustified in the 21st century, reflecting a lack of concern for patient care. Uncaring, no matter what it believes.

I had had a tough day with issues at home and she put me at ease immediately. Then Dr. Pozo Garcia came in. He told me his background, told me he would tell me what he was typing into this laptop, made direct eye contact with me and listened to me as I told him my history. He explained what tests he was going to order for me and why. He had a great sense of humor. I connected with him on a high trust level. After we were done, Victoria did a blood draw with no issues. I would recommend Dr. Pozo Garcia, Diana and Victoria to anyone who has kidney issues. These people were highly professional and yet very personable.
