Had not been to this location. The atmosphere was a 4... service bar side was a 4. Food surprised me, I thought it would be better but that was barely a 3. The red wine from Portugal was delicious and that's what I stuck to while my friend enjoyed her usual bellinis. Parking was nuts as the lot is shared with many other bustling businesses. I was lucky to get a spot in the very back. I arrived first and starving as usual so at the bar, I ordered the coconut calamari. It looked good, it was just ok but not a hint of coconut that I had been excited for. You can for sure see this was of the frozen variety, each piece identical to the next. But, I always order things like that that I don't usually make at home. Which takes me to my main, the tuna ahi bowl. Barely passable. Meh, but came recommended. My friend got my other possible choice, the seaside salad with shrimp and salmon with yummy looking greens and I had wished I had ordered that. The company was more important though and in typical Janna style, we closed the place down and no regrets in coming here. I have have been waiting forever to try this place out. I hesitated between the chicken and goat cheese and the steak. I will have to come back for the chicken because I locked my eyes on the steak tonight. The fries were amazing !!! Perfect amount of salt and taste. The steak was ordered med rare and was more on the well done side. That is the reason I would have removed half a star but I have to remove a full one. The server was really nice. We went to Milestones to celebrate a friend's birthday. This was her choice of locale. Normally we would have gone to the one in the (true) west end, in Kanata, but they were all booked up - not surprising for a Saturday night! But it was really crowded and noisy when we arrived, although we could only get a later seating, 7:30pm. That wasn't too bad, but I was starving and grumpy as a bear by the time we got there! Well, we came to the right place. The only weird thing (it wasn't really negative, but just odd) was that it was hard to find the place given the address - off Baxter. When you go there, go through the Ikea parking lot and literally drive past it; behind the humongous parking garage, you will find this restaurant across from what remains of an empty Montana's restaurant. Let's keep this one open! I have to figure that the shadow of Ikea (since expansion) keeps these two restaurants very well hidden, hence it must be harder to stay in business. On the plus side, there's lots of free parking! I started with a glass of red wine (about $7.00), my girlfriend got a beautiful Belllini, and the boys got beer. The girlfriend's husband really wanted an appetizer, and chose the calamari. He offered it around, but all of us initially said no. Any time I've tried calamari, I've been disappointed; if you're gonna eat it, it should really be good! However, it seems I was not the only bear at the table: the rest of us eventually tried it too, and I've gotta say it was really good! What surprised me is that it wasn't rubbery, which I usually find with calamari. Said friend said that happens when it's overcooked. Whatever the reasoning, kudos to Milestones for getting that right for the first time ever! For the main dish, I ordered a Milestones California Salad, with shrimp (2 skewers). It was delicious! Comes with spicy pecans and strawberries. Would recommend. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. We were able to take our time over dinner, and the restaurant had really quietened down before we left at nearly 10:00! Second time eating here this time take-out only and they did not disappoint! The Food travelled extremely well in take-out containers...the 7 ounce Steak/mashed and veggies and butternut squash ravioli were wonderful. We tried the wham-bam shrimp and the artichoke dip too which were super tasty! The white chocolate cheesecake was to die for. I just had the jumbo shrimp ( with quinoa, rice and roasted vegetables) meal from the Valentine Special Menu. Please Milestones put this on the regular menu. It was the best shrimp meal I've ever tasted. I'd change my rating to 5 stars if this meal is added to the regular menu. I've said it before and I'll say it again - you just can't go wrong at Milestones. Consistently great food and service. This location, in my opinion, is one of the least attractive interiors of the majority that I've seen including many on the west coast. By no means terrible, just a little more ho hum and edging on dark and dreary. Even the Christmas decorations didn't do much to liven it up, not that that would EVER stop me from going. Haha So if you're on your way to IKEA and don't feel like eating Swedish meatballs, this is a close by alternative. read more

I've been to this Milestones a few times now for brunch and dinner. My most recent trip there was with my husband and our friends for drinks and dessert after having dinner elsewhere. Overall, it's pretty good for a chain restaurant. On my most recent trip, I had the Silver Jubellini ($9) and shared the Mini Dessert Platter ($11) with my husband. The menu said that the Silver Jubellini was a blend of "stone fruit made of peaches, nectarines, plums and apricot" layered with their Bellini slush "topped with sparkling white wine, blood orange liqueur and fresh fruit." I did not taste any peaches, nectarines, plums or apricots. There were however chunks of cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple in the drink (I guess this was the fresh fruit component). I hate honeydew and cantaloupe, and I found the taste of these melons overpowered the drink. Had I known these were in the drink, I would not have ordered it. I should have just ordered the Original Bellini. They put cute little plastic animals on their bellinis. I think mine was a bull or an ox. Fortunately, the Mini Dessert Platter was delicious. The platter came with a Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake, Roasted Marshmallow Ice Cream, Blueberry Tiramisu and Chocolate Ganache Torte. The Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake was very rich and decadent. It really tasted of peanut butter and jelly. The Roasted Marshmallow Ice Cream was my favourite of the four desserts. It was so creamy and had a potent roasted marshmallow flavour. The Blueberry Tiramisu was probably my least favourite. I didn't taste a strong blueberry flavour and it was somewhat gritty and too cakey (not creamy enough for a tiramisu). The Chocolate Ganache Torte was dense and full of chocolate flavour. It's gluten-free! The crust is crushed pecans! Our friends also had the Mini Dessert Platter and they also loved it. And one of our friends also had the Silver Jubellini and ended up ordering the Original Bellini for her second drink because she didn't like the Silver Jubellini either. I would definitely return for the Mini Dessert Platter! This Milestones is in the big complex that houses Ikea, Terra20, Sears Home Store, etc. There's lots of free parking. read more

5 stars! I chose here because i had coupons but before arriving i realized they werent valid yet so we almost went to big rigs but im glad we didnt. We arrived it was fairly busy we sat on the patio then realized it was cold so switched which was no problem, i ordered 2 drinks i forget what they were called it was some sort of sangria, and was DELICIOUS. The best part tho was the salad i ordered, i got the roasted beet salad without the cheese and oh my IT IS DELICIOUS it is a winner ding ding ding im sold, its the perfect combination of crunch, sweet, bitter etc ! Came here for Wednesday date night cause the deal is pretty good if you have a partner to go with. We got the calamari to start and it was so good and perfectly crisp. My boyfriend actually doesn't like calamari but just puts up with it because of me, but he gobbled these right up. I got the glazed salmon which was yum and larger than I was expecting. He got the Thai basil noodles, which looked like something you would get at Basil Box. To finish we got the cheesecake, which was piled high with whipped cream. The cheesecake was good but the coffee sauce kind of threw me off because the flavours clashed a little bit. All in all, it was a great dinner. Our server was really nice and quirky too! read more

Stay away from the ribs I like Milestones and was very disapointed when they stopped serving Prime Rib, it was my reason to go there. It's been so long since the last time I've been here. My wife went recently with some friends and she said she had great food and drinks. For her birthday this was her choice which was no surprise. Parking is ample considering it shares the same parking lot as the Ikea. Consider taking Iris St down to Baxter in lieu of driving though an usually busy parking lot that can be confusing. My impressions are of a place that is more upscale then most and is on the trendy side. Menu consists of pasta, steaks, and burgers. They do offer a meal set for $40 which was what I opted for. The meal set included an appetizer (mozzarella balls), entrée (steak), and dessert (carrot cake). Those in brackets are what I had chosen. You don't have much selectiion, in fact each section has only 2 options, so don't expect to.be able to choose anything off the menu. One thing that should be mentioned is they serve Starbucks coffee for those that it matters. My food came out and it was great. The mozzarella balls were diffferent. I enjoyed them more withiutnthe sauce that csme for dipping. Thenother couple whonjoimed us ordered the sojnaxh dip which seemed to be enjoyed by them. My steak was done as I had asked for. My wife throughly enjoyed her pasta. She kept raving how it was both spicy and hot in temperature when it came out. For dessert in opted for the carrot cake which was a good helping. Nothing different to report about the carrot cake. My friends they orders that chocolate thing with ice cream at apparently has a long name and again they seemed to enjoy it. Service was great. It was a bit shakey at the beginning when the server seemed to leave us be since we were still waiting on our friends. At no point during that time did he check in with us. It was obvious however that he was checking cause as soon our friends arrived and sat down he came over and take care of them and us right away. The follow ups go from him were at the right moments and not over bearing. This place is usually busy so prepare to have to eait, especially in weekends. Overall my dining experience was good. First time at Milestones. We made reservations and were seated as soon as we arrived. Our server was excellent and he made a positive impact on our visit. I had their 14 oz prime rib roast, medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes, and a side of mushrooms. There were also some fresh green beans and a slice of steamed red pepper. I poured the mushroom and sauce over my prime rib roast and the combination was delicious. The sauce was also excellent for dipping a fork full of the garlic mashed potatoes. I enjoyed my meal. This review is not about the service. This is about Health and safety issue with this location! This is about how dirty their kitchen is. There were two of us for brunch and we both got very bad stomach cramps an hour after we ate there. We saw the kitchen through the glass and made a comment of how dusty the ceiling was and food was being prepared under it. Needless to saw we had a bad case of diarrhea an hour after we ate there. They need to clean their kitchen. I won't be returning to this location... pretty sure there are other restaurants with dirty kitchens but this is the one we get to see and got sick from. I love the Milestones chain, and always get great food each time and this time was no different. Got the Prime Rib sandwich, which tasted great along with the California Spring Salad, which was a perfect summer salad. We also got a calamari appetizer as well. The reasons I took two stars off are that the server took forever to show up after we were seated (at least 15 minutes), and to be honest I think the hostess completely forgot about us. As well, prices have been creeping up on Milestones menus, and even though the food is good, prices are a bit up there for a chain I feel. read more

We went there hungry, kind of last minute lunch after some shopping at Ikea. The guy who placed people got pissed because we found our place dark and wanted to get close to a window so we could see our food. And at the time this was a ''no server zone''. Luckily one of the server took pity on us and he sure got a tip for that. Foodwise we found the kids Menu horrid. We chose a burger with fries. Burger was a ridiculously small size beef patty (about 2 inches wide) charcoaled on a bun. No lettuce, no tomato, no sauce. Squat. We on the other hand ordered a mix of fish and chicken tacos (quite expensive for the amount of food). Nothing to write home about for the chicken but the fish taco was great, well cooked it was moist and spicy. read more

This is definitely a solid 3 star experience. Out of most chains it's probably my favourite place to go when I'm with a big group who isn't super adventurous with their food choices. They have a good menu that's pretty carried but I have yet to have a totally stand out meal here. The ambience is nice and the booths are comfortable. The staff if okay...again, no standouts, but never any rudeness. The main reason I vouch for this place is their yummy drinks, particularly the Bellinis. It's a great spot to drop by for apps and drinks and is right by Ikea so there's never an issue parking-wise. My friends and I were there on a friday night around 7pm. It was not too crowded, not too loud, and not over-air conditioned. I had the ribeye steak with the baked potato. I didn't eat the potato because I got the version with sour cream, chives, and way too much horseradish. I mean, there was so much horseradish on there that it overpowered everything. And I like horseradish. The steak was perfect. For dessert I had the "cookie." This consists of a giant chocolate cookie (probably 6 inches across) on a plate, with a single, small scoop of vanilla gelato and drizzled with chocolate and caramel. There was not enough ice cream to warrant such a large cookie. I ate about half the cookie. We got the rest of the cookie "to go." With two meals, two desserts, one mixed drink and 20% tip we spent $84. I had a fun time, but that's too expensive for me. read more

My first time at Milestones, I don't know why I've never been here before but I will definitely return! The decor is really upscale and makes you feel cozy. The menu is not overly large which is good. Lots of variety! I got the Stacked Burger. Prime rib with smoked meat, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce, caramelized onions and a garlic sauce. Not sure what the sauce is called though. The beef had a nice sear and it reminded me of a great outdoor BBQ! The bacon was very crisp and had a great smoky flavour. Also, the burger had a garlic taste to it, which I did not mind. The sweet potato fries were also very crispy and really good! The waiter service was very good as well! Horrible experience, wanted to go have lunch with a few people and the man working at the door was extremely rude ( Thursday July 9th around 1:30 ). We were a group of 7 and were told that they can only take 6 which is totally understandable with covid and everything but this employee was very rude towards us even though we would have been compliant with covid rules. We asked to be seated separately and he refused. We even called another milestones location and they said it would be fine for us to sit 2 at one table and 5 at another. We will NEVER be returning to this location. I believe the employees should take more training when it comes to proper communication towards customers. read more

It was our first visit to this location and all I can say is never again. Starter was ok, but when it came to our mains....oh boy. First main ordered was a grilled sirloin with root vegetables and roasted potatoes. The meat was ok, huge piece of fat still on one side but I guess that's to be expected. The vegetables consisted of three spears of asparagus, one large slice of red pepper and a small piece of other vegetable that didn't taste like anything. The roasted potatoes tasted old, I'm sure they were cooked yesterday and reheated. The second main ordered was a surf and turf with mashed potatoes. After a 30 minute wait we were informed the kitchen was out of mashed potatoes but they would substitute for roasted instead. It took another 30 minutes for the mains to appear. The surf and turf was the same meal as the above mentioned sirloin, apart from the fact that 3 shrimp and two tiny shredded pieces of lobster was added. Definitely not worth the money. Wait staff was excellent, but unfortunately the kitchen staff was obviously not up to par. Would not recommend. read more

I love Milestones. This location gets very busy on weekends so I would recommend a reservation (they usually have many tables available when you call ahead). I've tried many things on their menu over the years, with my favourite being the Mediterranean chicken for a main course, the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer, and the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. My prime rib was very good. Tender and medium rare. The sautéed mushrooms and seasonal veg was simple and tasty. The service was excellent. Visited this location tonight with some friends and ordered the California burger with mixed greens (balsamic dressing) and a side of ketchup and mayo. The mixed greens were stale and limp. The ketchup, mayo and balsamic dressing were missing and the burger patty was overcooked and charred in the middle (consistence of plastic). I'm not sure how they could get a burger wrong? Quality of food was subpar to poor. I would consider another restaurant if you are considering entertaining friends or a large group of people. read more
