I love the place. Waitress was super friendly. My friends tried their desserts and they loved them. I only drank coffee as I am on diet :D the menu had a lot of choices that's what I liked the most.

I had a chance to visit this restraunt with my friends to celebrate Friendship Day and had great food with great friends at great place Also I really appreciate the staff as they were taking all the safety measures and we felt extremely safe dining at their restraunt during this covid time.

We went to Milestones to celebrate a friend's birthday. This was her choice of locale. Normally we would have gone to the one in the (true) west end, in Kanata, but they were all booked up - not surprising for a Saturday night! But it was really crowded and noisy when we arrived, although we could only get a later seating, 7:30pm. That wasn't too bad, but I was starving and grumpy as a bear by the time we got there! Well, we came to the right place. The only weird thing (it wasn't really negative, but just odd) was that it was hard to find the place given the address - off Baxter. When you go there, go through the Ikea parking lot and literally drive past it; behind the humongous parking garage, you will find this restaurant across from what remains of an empty Montana's restaurant. Let's keep this one open! I have to figure that the shadow of Ikea (since expansion) keeps these two restaurants very well hidden, hence it must be harder to stay in business. On the plus side, there's lots of free parking! I started with a glass of red wine (about $7.00), my girlfriend got a beautiful Belllini, and the boys got beer. The girlfriend's husband really wanted an appetizer, and chose the calamari. He offered it around, but all of us initially said no. Any time I've tried calamari, I've been disappointed; if you're gonna eat it, it should really be good! However, it seems I was not the only bear at the table: the rest of us eventually tried it too, and I've gotta say it was really good! What surprised me is that it wasn't rubbery, which I usually find with calamari. Said friend said that happens when it's overcooked. Whatever the reasoning, kudos to Milestones for getting that right for the first time ever! For the main dish, I ordered a Milestones California Salad, with shrimp (2 skewers). It was delicious! Comes with spicy pecans and strawberries. Would recommend. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. We were able to take our time over dinner, and the restaurant had really quietened down before we left at nearly 10:00! Although we don't eat at Milestones often, this was a good experience and I would go back.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - you just can't go wrong at Milestones. Consistently great food and service. This location, in my opinion, is one of the least attractive interiors of the majority that I've seen including many on the west coast. By no means terrible, just a little more ho hum and edging on dark and dreary. Even the Christmas decorations didn't do much to liven it up, not that that would EVER stop me from going. Haha So if you're on your way to IKEA and don't feel like eating Swedish meatballs, this is a close by alternative.

Silver Jubellini $9 (sorry for the crappy lighting).

I've been to this Milestones a few times now for brunch and dinner. My most recent trip there was with my husband and our friends for drinks and dessert after having dinner elsewhere. Overall, it's pretty good for a chain restaurant. On my most recent trip, I had the Silver Jubellini ($9) and shared the Mini Dessert Platter ($11) with my husband. The menu said that the Silver Jubellini was a blend of "stone fruit made of peaches, nectarines, plums and apricot" layered with their Bellini slush "topped with sparkling white wine, blood orange liqueur and fresh fruit." I did not taste any peaches, nectarines, plums or apricots. There were however chunks of cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple in the drink (I guess this was the fresh fruit component). I hate honeydew and cantaloupe, and I found the taste of these melons overpowered the drink. Had I known these were in the drink, I would not have ordered it. I should have just ordered the Original Bellini. They put cute little plastic animals on their bellinis. I think mine was a bull or an ox. Fortunately, the Mini Dessert Platter was delicious. The platter came with a Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake, Roasted Marshmallow Ice Cream, Blueberry Tiramisu and Chocolate Ganache Torte. The Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake was very rich and decadent. It really tasted of peanut butter and jelly. The Roasted Marshmallow Ice Cream was my favourite of the four desserts. It was so creamy and had a potent roasted marshmallow flavour. The Blueberry Tiramisu was probably my least favourite. I didn't taste a strong blueberry flavour and it was somewhat gritty and too cakey (not creamy enough for a tiramisu). The Chocolate Ganache Torte was dense and full of chocolate flavour. It's gluten-free! The crust is crushed pecans! Our friends also had the Mini Dessert Platter and they also loved it. And one of our friends also had the Silver Jubellini and ended up ordering the Original Bellini for her second drink because she didn't like the Silver Jubellini either. I would definitely return for the Mini Dessert Platter! This Milestones is in the big complex that houses Ikea, Terra20, Sears Home Store, etc. There's lots of free parking.

My friends salad and the side of sweet potato fries we got, i got the same salad but without cheese

5 stars! I chose here because i had coupons but before arriving i realized they werent valid yet so we almost went to big rigs but im glad we didnt. We arrived it was fairly busy we sat on the patio then realized it was cold so switched which was no problem, i ordered 2 drinks i forget what they were called it was some sort of sangria, and was DELICIOUS. The best part tho was the salad i ordered, i got the roasted beet salad without the cheese and oh my IT IS DELICIOUS it is a winner ding ding ding im sold, its the perfect combination of crunch, sweet, bitter etc ! It had pecans, blueberry, roasted beets, quinoa and basmati which all sounded odd but works super well, and my friend and i split a side of sweet potato fries which were also good but we were too full to finish Ps: the server also helped me get an outlet to charge my phone, super helpful

I am sitting here at Milestones. It's been 1 1/4 hours since we have ordered and our food still hasn't arrived. My beer alone took 20 mins to show up. We are contemplating the idea of just getting up and leave! Nice people, nice atmosphere but s l o w service...

Mozzarella Balls

It's been so long since the last time I've been here. My wife went recently with some friends and she said she had great food and drinks. For her birthday this was her choice which was no surprise. Parking is ample considering it shares the same parking lot as the Ikea. Consider taking Iris St down to Baxter in lieu of driving though an usually busy parking lot that can be confusing. My impressions are of a place that is more upscale then most and is on the trendy side. Menu consists of pasta, steaks, and burgers. They do offer a meal set for $40 which was what I opted for. The meal set included an appetizer (mozzarella balls), entrée (steak), and dessert (carrot cake). Those in brackets are what I had chosen. You don't have much selectiion, in fact each section has only 2 options, so don't expect to.be able to choose anything off the menu. One thing that should be mentioned is they serve Starbucks coffee for those that it matters. My food came out and it was great. The mozzarella balls were diffferent. I enjoyed them more withiutnthe sauce that csme for dipping. Thenother couple whonjoimed us ordered the sojnaxh dip which seemed to be enjoyed by them. My steak was done as I had asked for. My wife throughly enjoyed her pasta. She kept raving how it was both spicy and hot in temperature when it came out. For dessert in opted for the carrot cake which was a good helping. Nothing different to report about the carrot cake. My friends they orders that chocolate thing with ice cream at apparently has a long name and again they seemed to enjoy it. Service was great. It was a bit shakey at the beginning when the server seemed to leave us be since we were still waiting on our friends. At no point during that time did he check in with us. It was obvious however that he was checking cause as soon our friends arrived and sat down he came over and take care of them and us right away. The follow ups go from him were at the right moments and not over bearing. This place is usually busy so prepare to have to eait, especially in weekends. Overall my dining experience was good. The food and service was great!!

I can't say that I eat at Swiss Chalet all that often, but when I found out that all Swiss Chalet…read moreand Harvey's restaurants were offering 50% off for all healthcare workers and first responders from March 20-27, 2020 amidst this COVID-19 Pandemic, it was an offer that I couldn't pass up (thanks, Mary T for the heads up about the promotion). Since all dine-in is closed due to the pandemic, it's takeout or delivery only right now (today is March 23, 2020). The 50% off promotion only applies to takeout (walk-in only, no phone or online orders) and drive thru (but this location does not have a drive thru). You need to show them your ID Badge. For a limited time, they are offering jerk chicken (!) so I had to give it a try. I got the Jerk Chicken Family Pack (regularly $35.99 - but only $18 with the discount). This included a whole chicken, 4 sides (I got 2 fries and 2 steamed vegetables, I initially wanted 2 garlic green beans, but they didn't have any left), 4 rolls (I got 2 white and 2 multigrain), grilled pineapple, coleslaw, and Chalet sauce. Full disclosure, I went home and put the chicken and fries in the oven for half an hour. I stir-fried the vegetables with the grilled pineapple. I brought the Chalet sauce to a boil. I re-toasted the buns, and yes, I even heat up the coleslaw - more on this later, lol. I can't afford to take any chances, so yes, I essentially re-cooked everything, but get this, everything was still pretty tasty, even the coleslaw, haha. The jerk chicken was pretty mild. Let's just say it was North Americanized Jerk Chicken, but you can't expect authentic Caribbean flavours from Swiss Chalet! Still it was tasty and had the tiniest of spicy kick. The meat was tender and practically fell off the bone (might be due to my additional roasting, idk, lol). The fries were crispy and delicious. The grilled pineapple and steamed vegetables were good. I liked that they weren't oily/greasy. I got a larger serving of coleslaw and also 2 smaller servings of coleslaw. I've never had warm coleslaw before and at first it was weird, but it definitely grew on me. I might just heat up all my coleslaw from now on ;) The rolls were standard rolls from frozen. Nothing remarkable. The Chalet sauce was good, a bit more runny than I remember, but still good for dipping fries in. Service was very friendly and efficient. I waited maybe 10 minutes maximum. I was very happy (for myself and infection control purposes) that I was the only customer there the entire time, except for an UberEats guy who came in for a pick up, we were able to maintain social distancing at all times :) I was there early, so I'm hoping for their sake that they have more business during times when people normally eat. The pay terminal has been moved so it's far away from the cashier. The only thing missing was a hand sanitizer dispenser near the door. I think they should install one. I was happy with the food, and I think the 50% offer is such a nice gesture. Kudos to their marketing team, because I definitely have a more favourable opinion of Swiss Chalet and Harvey's now. This location is in the Fairlawn Plaza across the street from Carlingwood Mall. The takeout section is separate from the dine-in restaurant (separate entrance and completely walled off). Harvey's is next door. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

After calling the restaurant three times and having them assure me it was coming, and three calls to customer service where I waited on the phone for 10 minutes or hung up because it was clear I wasn't going to get through to anyone, my food never came. I waited for three hours, and every time I tried to talk to someone, they did nothing. This was by far the worst fast food experience I have ever had. Please do better Swiss Chalet.

Had my most recent experience been my only experience at this Harvey's I would have given it 2…read morestars, but I've had better experiences in the past, and I like the brand in general, so I'm giving it 3 stars. So my most recent visit was during the COVID-19 Pandemic. All Harvey's (and Swiss Chalet) restaurants were offering 50% off for healthcare workers and first responders from March 20-27, 2020, and it was an offer I couldn't pass up, lol. I went on March 24. Now because of all the measures put in place to try to contain the virus (i.e physical/social distancing), I couldn't really read the menu, nor could I see what was actually being punched into the cash register. I just trusted that everything would be correct. It was not. I wanted the chicken tenders, as I've never had them at Harvey's before. I thought they came in 3s or 5s (because that's how it is at Swiss Chalet, same parent company), so I said "5 chicken tenders, not the combo, just the tenders." The lady punched it in. Now I later discover that an order of chicken tenders is 4 pieces for $5.99. I feel that the lady should have informed me that a standard order was 4 pieces, I feel that that would have been good customer service. Instead she punched in the standard order for $5.99 and then charged me an extra $1.70 for the additional piece. I would have just gotten 4 pieces had I known. Ok, whatever. But if you're going to charge me for the extra piece, you should give me the extra piece! When I opened up the box at home, there were only 4 pieces, even though I paid for 5 pieces! I also ordered 2 apple pies, which I later learned were $1.99 for both. So I displayed my work ID badge for the 50% discount and she acknowledged it and went on to charge me $6.59. Since I didn't know the prices of anything, I just paid it. She took the receipt and put it on the paper bag for the guy to process my order. The guy put my stuff into the bag and then the receipt into the bag and put my order on the counter. I grabbed the bag and hightailed it out of there before other people could enter the store. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and saw that the math was wonky. So it was $5.99 for 4 chicken tenders, $1.70 for an additional chicken tender, and $1.99 for 2 apple pies. Then there's the 50% off promotion (which is supposed to apply to your entire order) which is listed as -$3.85. Now 50% off my entire order should be -$4.84. Listen, it's not a big difference, and I am very grateful for even getting a discount, but I feel if you are going to do something, you should do it right. And also not forget to give me something that I ordered and paid for! As for the actual food that day, it was ok. The tenders were more batter/breading than actual chicken, and the pies were more crust than filling :( At least the chicken was real chicken breast and not reformed ground chicken with mystery ingredients. Full disclosure: I stuck everything in the oven when I got home, just in case, as I can't afford to get sick. Although this behaviour could potentially dry out the food, it would not alter the crust:filling or breading:meat ratio, so my critique still stands. Kudos to Harvey's Head Office for their gesture to show appreciation for healthcare workers and first responders during this Pandemic. This location just dropped the ball on a few things. This location is in the Fairlawn Plaza, across the street from Carlingwood Mall. It's next door to Swiss Chalet. Lots of free parking in the plaza.
