The Artery remains my favorite gallery to visit. You can view so many beautiful art masterpieces…read morehere ranging from: oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, sculpture, ceramics and handmade jewelry. As of my updating this review, they no longer have the mask requirement and their hours are Fridays and Saturdays (10-6) and Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays (10-5). When I went there was a beautiful collaboration with the Milford Garden Club on display, please see some of my photos. They are still doing the wine and cheese receptions and those are usually held the second Saturday of every month at 6pm. I look forward to attending the next one. Current artists that are exhibited here are: Randall FitzGerald, Claude Larson, Marie Liu, Laura Dudes, Helen Hwang, Liza Smith Simpson, and Madeline Tully.

Located in the magnificent Forest Hall building at the intersection of Harford and Broad streets in downtown Milford, the Pike county seat, this artist's collective is a wonderful place to browse textiles, scultpure, photgraphy, blown glass, jewelry and more. Randall Fitzgerald is a photographer who features local Pike county images in many of his pieces, with other sojurns to Nantucket, Utah and several other scenic wonderlands he captures magnificently on film. Many lovely things can be found here, at all price points. I recommend making Forest Hall a priority when you come to town, for the Black Bear Film Festival, the Pear Festival, an event at Grey Towers, to dine at the Fauchere, go to the Llama Appreciation Day, see the Lincoln flag at the Historical Society, or any other reason. It's conveniently located in the center of town, one half block from Fretta's and a block from the Milford Diner.

Hi, guys! If you're going to visit Milford anyway, you should drop in.. because, why not? However,…read moreuntil Yelp changes the address and times they're open, you should know: they're only open 1-4 Wed, Sat, and Sunday.! It's tiny, only $5, and offers respite from rain and sweltering summers alike! The real reason to visit this museum, as far as I'm concerned, is to see the Lincoln flag-- the fascinating, albeit grisly fabric our president's bloody head laid on when assasinated. [ Except I can't spell assasinated, apparently. Le Sigh.. ] How on earth did it end up in Milford? Well, although you might assume it had something to do with one of the many soldiers from Pike county, you would indeed be making an ass of yourself with that presumption, youngling! HA! Milford owes this strange object to Jeannie Gourlay, an actress in the play that was being performed that fateful night at Ford's Theatre. She got it from her father, the stage manager of the theater. While alive, she proudly flew it from her porch in Milford on holidays, and allowed her son to take it to school for show and tell! The museum has acquired a couple of other interesting Civil War tidbits along the way, such as the dress Jeannie was wearing that fateful night.. Outside of that, I also enjoyed the propoganda posters from WWI and WWII, including some (4?) from Norman Rockwell. The thing is, historical society museums are tiny, but they're also informative, fun, and quickly seen. If you're in the area anyway, why not take a peek at something that by all expectations SHOULD be found in a big city museum to be quickly walked past while browsing other things. Here, it reigns supreme, respected as it should be, a poignant reminder of the strange twists history sometimes takes.
