Nina was absolutely my biggest cheerleader, and she helped me with my other random parenting questions also.

Even though we hired…read moreher toward the end of my third trimester, she immediately jumped in and made us feel completely supported. She went above and beyond to ensure we covered all the important educational topics before labor and delivery, and she tailored every meeting to fit our needs as first-time parents. One of the biggest reasons we hired Kelsey was for the education, and she absolutely exceeded our expectations. She spent hours with us teaching us about labor, birth, postpartum recovery, evidence-based birth practices, and all of the options we might encounter along the way. She answered every question we had and gave us the information we needed to make informed decisions that aligned with our values. I never felt pressured--only supported and empowered. Her prenatal meetings were incredibly organized. She came prepared with checklists, charts, educational materials, and a wonderful birth plan packet that made it so easy to think through our preferences. We especially appreciated all the time she spent teaching my husband practical ways to support me physically, mentally, and emotionally throughout labor. Those conversations gave both of us so much confidence going into the birth. Kelsey's communication was outstanding from start to finish. She was always incredibly responsive, checked in with us regularly (at least weekly), and sent detailed summary emails after every visit so we always knew what we had discussed and what our next steps were. During labor and delivery, she took detailed notes of everything that happened. Looking back, there are so many parts of labor that I don't remember, and having her notes has been such a meaningful gift because I can relive the experience and remember all the details. During labor and delivery, Kelsey was a calm, knowledgeable, and reassuring presence. She provided wonderful physical comfort techniques and emotional support while helping us understand what was happening throughout the process. Because of all the preparation we had done together beforehand, I felt informed, confident, and able to make decisions throughout my birth experience. Our postpartum visit was just as valuable. It gave us the opportunity to process the birth, talk through how I was doing physically, emotionally, and mentally, discuss postpartum resources, and ask all of our newborn and first-time parent questions. It was exactly the kind of support we needed during that transition. Overall, our experience with Kelsey exceeded every expectation we had. She is incredibly knowledgeable, organized, compassionate, responsive, and genuinely invested in the families she works with. From her thoughtful educational sessions and personalized resources to her detailed follow-up emails, consistent check-ins, and unwavering support during labor and postpartum, she made such a positive impact on our birth experience. We are so grateful we chose Kelsey as our doula, and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for exceptional pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support.

She provided us with invaluable support before, during, and after my birth. In short, Kelsey is an exceptional doula-don't hesitate to hire her! Before meeting Kelsey, I didn't know a lot about doulas; I just knew I wanted all the expert support I could get going through my first pregnancy and labor. My understanding of Doula meant home birth with a midwife, but I planned to give birth at TMC with my OB.  I first contacted Kelsey through her website (after thoroughly stalking her Instagram hygge.birth.services) when I was about three months pregnant; we scheduled a video call meeting to get to know her. After our initial call, Kelsey left her email and phone open for any follow-up questions we might have while deciding whether to become her client. Kelsey's service offerings are comprehensive, and we opted for her Complete Birth and Postpartum Support Package. While I was Kelsey's primary client, my husband also benefitted greatly from her support. We had a group text throughout the pregnancy to address any questions or concerns, ensuring we were both well-informed and prepared. Kelsey's support was instrumental in keeping us on the same page, especially when I went into labor and was unable to communicate as effectively.  Even if you're not interested in a doula for your entire pregnancy journey, I highly recommend taking Kelsey's Childbirth Education Course (CBE). She offers private sessions in your home. She is offering a reduced rate as she is in training, which is a fantastic deal. I wish we had started her CBE course when we were family planning; there is so much information that would've been really helpful in the early days of our pregnancy. Even starting when we did, around 6 months, there was still an abundance of information we took away from it. Taking her course would also be a great way to get to know Kelsey if you're not sure you need a Doula yet. On our second night home with our baby girl, she wouldn't stop crying, and my husband and I were at our wit's end. The "5 S's" weren't working. I sent Kelsey a frantic text at 11 p.m., and to my surprise, she quickly responded with encouragement and guidance. I'm sure that isn't always possible, but that's just one example of how Kelsey goes above and beyond to support her clients. Kelsey is also an amazing Mama. With a toddler and infant, she's in the thick of parenthood, which is just an added bonus. She is also very organized, which was helpful for my very disorganized personality. Although our formal package with Kelsey has ended, we will stay in touch. I plan to hire her for additional postpartum support visits. She's kind, caring, compassionate, and a great advocate. I'm very grateful she was a part of our birth journey.

After a negative experience with an at-home lactation consultant, I set up an outpatient visit with…read morea TMC lactation consultant. Best decision I've made. This saved my breastfeeding relationship with my baby. I worked with Aliceann, who was incredibly helpful. TMC lactation services are usually covered by insurance, but if not, they are covered by grant funding, so you will not be charged (FREE). During an outpatient visit, the consultant evaluates your baby's overall well-being, looks at your positioning and latch, and does a weighted feed, so you know how much your baby is drinking. It's in a comfortable private room and doesn't feel like a hospital. My baby struggled with her latch from the beginning. After a miserable 2 months of pumping, attempting to breastfeed through extreme pain, and supplementing, Aliceann gave me a solid plan. She wrote down for me when to try breastfeeding, when and how much bottle feeding my baby needed, and when to pump. It was such a relief to have a plan! I borrowed a hospital pump and used that along with tips from Aliceann to increase my production levels. She referred me to a Speech Language Pathologist specializing in infant feeding, as well as a physical therapist for treatment of a milk bleb, and a breastfeeding medicine doctor. With Aliceann's help and the help of these specialists, my baby was diagnosed with a posterior tongue tie, which was clipped. Two weeks later she was latching like a pro, and we've been exclusively breastfeeding ever since! Aliceann truly made the difference in my breastfeeding journey and I am so lucky to have met her. She was always responsive to my questions and concerns through email, even though she stays very busy with moms needing help like I did. I highly recommend visiting TMC lactation services if you are struggling with breastfeeding. I also highly recommend the TMC breastfeeding support group on Mondays. While you won't get the individual attention of an outpatient visit, the support from other moms struggling with breastfeeding is totally worth it.
