The minute my then fiancé proposed, we started to work towards the big things: overall look and feel, budget, venue location, and the total guest count. Personally, I love planning and knew what we wanted so we booked Milk Events on the Skim Milk package (day of coordinator). Candice and I connected about 10 months out. I had shopped around with 3 event planning services before making a final decision. I finally decided to go with Milk Events (even over another team that was referred to me from a close friend that she had used for her wedding). From the get go, I can tell that Candice is a straightforward kind of person and can make decisions quickly. She asked me questions to make sure she understood how much I've already done and what my vision and what my needs were without being pushy. As I did my part in the planning, I would email Candice when I needed recommendations or had questions and she was very helpful. Our conversation really ramped up about 2 months out from my wedding date. During the 2 months, we had 2 meetings: an initial meeting and a details meeting. She made everything extremely easy and had answers or options/ recommendations to all our questions. I know there is a lot that goes into planning a large event especially an occasion so special like a wedding. I can tell Candice is well versed in her job because of the attention to details. On my wedding day she was prompt and scheduled 2 assistants to help. They were always in communication and made sure we stayed on schedule and followed the timeline to the T. Oh my goodness, Candice and her team are AMAZING! We had our wedding last week and me and my now-husband are gushing over how seamless everything went, thanks in very large part to Candice. Initially, I wanted some help from a planner but did not want a full-time planner. Candice has different packages and lets you customize by picking and choosing different services from each in order to meet all your needs. She is very communicative and responsive - always responds within the same day, if not the same hour. She has connections with amazing vendors and helps keep you ahead of schedule for everything you need to do. She is so detail-oriented and creates budgets, spreadsheets, timelines, etc. Everyone was amazed at our day-of timeline and how much thought and detail went into it. On the day of the wedding, she and her team had headsets on and were so on point that my family and others said they were like the secret service - haha. For example, when a guest showed up last minute without RSVP-ing, Candice told her assistant over the headset to look for that person, what they looked like, and to tell him where his table was. She also accommodated game time changes - we ended up wanting to do the chair dance last minute and wanted to cancel portions of the reception, and she made it happen. She also somehow got all my things together at the end of the night and made sure everything got back to my hotel with me. Everyone warned me that at least two things would go wrong on my wedding day. If that happened, I have no idea because Candice is an absolute professional. I hired Candice from Milk Events as my day of coordinator and it was one of the BEST decisions I made for my wedding! I was surprised by all the little things (which amounted to a lot in the end) I didn't realize I would need to do for the wedding. Luckily, I had the wonderful, super organized, detail-oriented Candice to guide me! Candice scheduled multiple meetings with me to make sure I was on top of my planning and not forgetting anything. Often times, she would text or email me just to ask if I needed help with anything. I told her I was struggling with table cards and she went above and beyond and HANDMADE all my signs, table cards, and table card stand, which came out beautifully and fit with the style I wanted. Candice also made a detailed timeline of the wedding day that had everything down to the minute! The timeline had all of the names of the vendors and cell phone numbers so they could be easily contacted. Candice emailed the timeline to all of my vendors the week prior to the wedding so they would know when and where they had to be on the wedding day. On the actual wedding day, Candice brought two assistants from Milk Events with her. Her lovely assistant Jill was always by my side, making sure my bridal party and I were comfortable and where we needed to be. She got in touch with us many months before the wedding with an Excel spreadsheet (very organized!) and it was very easy to communicate with her over e-mail and facetime (we live on the East Coast). Our first in-person meeting was 5 months before the wedding when we happened to be in California over the holidays. She went through an entire preliminary timeline with us which helped us with your planning as well. We met again a week before the wedding and the day before for the rehearsal. On the day of the wedding, we also had two assistant coordinators (Kristy and Sarah) who were fantastic, too. The whole team was very easy to work with and very approachable. We got the partial planning package (2% milk), and I honestly felt that she did way more for us. She was super resourceful, and always available for me through text. I am so glad that we hired Candice from Milk Events to be our Day of Coordinator. She was AMAZING! She was MORE than just our day of coordinator. She helped us throughout our wedding planning - answering any questions we had and made suggestions. I didn't realize how much day of coordinators did until my actual wedding day. Candice made sure our entire wedding party and other vendors had a timeline by e-mailing them the schedule the day before. If any of our vendors had any questions, she answered them right away. She took the time to pick up some of our wedding flowers so we can get photographed with them and made sure all the details were correct. She made sure all our place settings were set correctly (of course we had it so difficult - we had assigned seating and had menus and name place settings x2 that had to be set in the correct seat). I had last minute changes and she made sure they were changed right away! The ceremony and reception went so smoothly! Candice also speaks Mandarin which was an extra bonus because half our guests spoke Mandarin. She was able to help those that didn't speak much English and guided them to the correct spot during cocktail hour and the reception. During dinner, she made sure everyone had their food and everything was good before she stepped away. What blew us away was the fact that she and her assistant stayed until the VERY END of the wedding. She helped us clean up the bridal suites by packing up our stuff. She did not need to do that, but she took the initiative to stay and help us pack. I am SO glad that we were able to get Candice to help out with our wedding.
