For National Ice Cream Day, they make Peanut Chew ice cream. It is amazing as it is loaded with pieces of Peanut Chews. I ordered a scoop on a waffle cone. Unfortunately, the waffle is very stale. It is so stale that it is not crispy at all, very chewy and hard to bite. Next time I will order in a cup to be safe.

LOVE their Vegan Mango Sticky Rice ice cream w/ waffle cone!!

Absolutely love the vegan mango sticky rice and earl grey with honeycomb ice cream + waffle cone from here- so creamy, delicious & not too sweet. They carry lots of unique flavors, you can also buy by the pint, the staff is friendly & service is usually quick, quite pricey though. Small shop- no indoor seating, standing only & there's a few tables outside. Worth trying out if you're in the area :)

Our first time trying the famed Milk Jawn and we absolutely fell in love. We sampled almost every flavor on the menu because it all looked so good; ordered a scoop each of our two favorites, the Cold Brew with Cacao Nibs and the Cookie Butter (seasonal). Both were divine, but Cookie Butter took it over the edge with swirls of crumbled Biscoff cookies. Sooo creamy and cold and not too sweet, just perfect ice cream. Can't wait to come again, cute patio seating too with lots of families walking around the neighborhood.

I love Milk Jawn!! The ice cream is so good. The regular flavors are really good. You can sample as many flavors as you want. I like to go when they have a special flavor. The thriller ice cream for Halloween was decadent! It was dark chocolate ice cream with a raspberry ribbon. The store is a light and bright with a big picture window. The window has a bar and seats. The staff is always super nice.

We stopped by here because we were curious after seeing a long line. After dinner, we decided to stop by for some ice cream. Friendly service and delicious ice cream. Definitely worth stopping by!

I love to love Milk Jawn. I keep forgetting how good they are at creating new flavors. Since it is near Halloween, we stopped by. They had a couple spooky flavors such as caramel apple pie and thriller night. They also had a Phillies playoff flavor which was interesting. The caramel apple pie tasted like apples and didn't taste that artificial. The caramel apple pie ice cream also had amazing pieces of crusty goodness. The Phillies playoff is a must get (too bad the Phillies didn't make it to the World Series this year). The playoff has salted caramel swirl and chocolate crumb crunch.

It's great ice cream! In my trips to Milk Jawn I have had the Lemon curd blueberry basil swirl (which is currently on the menu) and the Thai tea basil swirl (which isn't on the menu anymore). Both flavors were incredibly creamy with bold & innovative flavor profiles! The service is fast and friendly and Milk Jawn will happily let you taste any of the available flavors. As someone who enjoys lemon and eats gluten free this is the first place I've found that actually has lemon ice cream that's also gluten free. Typically lemon options at others places are reserved to lemon water ice or a lemon cookie variety (which is gluten containing). Milk Jawn has seating outside which is convenient on a nice day, though I always recommend taking a stroll through the neighborhood while enjoying your ice cream! Next time at Milk Jawn maybe I'll try something a little more standard like chocolate peanut butter, but I'm sure a new creative flavor will draw my eye.

Loved that all the flavors were unique! I think they are also seasonal or rotated, so it's a new experience every time. I got the Tahini Fudge Swirl, which is truly nothing I've ever tried before - I was tempted to bring a pint home with me! The staff were also very friendly and nice, so a great experience all throughout!

The strawberry rhubarb ice cream was incredible and everything I was hoping it'd be. Key lime pie was also very good but a full scoop was a bit much after awhile. I think if it was vanilla with a key lime swirl it would have been less overpowering. But all of this is if I really needed to find a critique. Let's be real I'd still eat both flavors again if offered to me.

    Earl grey with honeycomb. Delicious!!

I got the Earl Gray and honeycomb flavor after tasting their sample. Thankfully it was a chilly evening, so the line wasn't long and I got served pretty quickly. The earl grey and honeycomb flavors were perfectly balanced and you could taste them in every bite. I will be coming back for more and try other flavors. Milk Jawn is the real deal!

Excellent! Has to be the best ice cream you'll ever have. I had a scoop of Milk and Cookies and a scoop of Malted Milk Toffee Crunch. It's so creamy, and great flavor. I will for sure be back...many times. (Excuse the photo I dug in before I remembered to take a pic)

I purchased the Vegan: Tahini Fudge Swirl & Cookies and Cream.

I felt like a child again walking into my neighborhood ice cream parlor in the "80's". Milk Jawn has an awesome partnership with Mycopolitan for mushroom subscription pickup. As a child, getting ice cream was everything. I was not going to leave without getting some yummy, uniquely flavored vegan ice cream. Eat now or take for later Waffle tacos were being made as a walked in. Yum! Another South Philly gem. Staff is so kind.

    Maggie H.

Love a good ice cream spot in South Philly. They are open late til midnight (bonus!) and have lots of flavors to pick and try from. I got earl grey with honeycomb in a cup. The earl gray had a strong balanced flavor with the honeycomb, which gave a gooey texture with some crunch (could have used more crunch). The place is small though with not much seating, more of a grab and go. Will come back to try more flavors~

We were a little late due to traffic, but our reservation was still honored. Our seating was inside and upstairs (which we appreciated b|c it rained while we were dining) Ambiance was lovely, dimly lit and romantic if you're on a date. Restaurant is family friendly!! We were quickly sat, our waiter introduced himself to us -- lovely gentleman by the name of Vincenzo?!? He was effortlessly efficient and friendly. Made our night exceptional. My cousin said it was late and she didn't want to really order anything. I talked her into ordering and then at least she could eat the leftovers for "midnight snacking" or lunch the next day. We ordered: -- Bellini: Prosecco infused peach purée -- Bread -- Scamorza -- Fire-roasted aged mozzarella, prosciutto -- Torta Granchio -- Italian crab cake infused with crab, shrimp, and mascarpone served with cucumber fresco and gastronomic roasted red pepper gelato -- Cesarina -- Kale, romaine, creamy Parmigiano dressing -- Agnolotti -- Torino-style Ravioli filled with veal, pork, and vegetables. Butter sage sauce topped with gastronomic black and white truttle gelato -- Pappardelle al Ragu -- Ribbon pasta, slow cooked pork, veal, lamb and chicken ragu (my cuzn's meal) -- Tiramisu Classico -- Lady fingers, espresso, mascarpone Everything was delicious, especially the Torta Granchio. Gran Caffè L'Aquila needs to lead with this appetizer. It was delicious. My cousin and I ordered two more to go!! Our pasta meals were decadent and delicious. We shared the tiramisu and we both agreed it was fantastic. Classic is the way to go. We left with full bellies after having wonderful conversation. We both agreed we'd be back!! BTW: I booked our reservation OpenTable and got 1000 points for it!!!

I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

They definitely seem consistent, which I really appreciate. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon, and wow... this place was packed. Even with the crowd, the staff stayed friendly and worked quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. One thing I still love is the seating. They have giant plushies sitting in the booths, so if you're by yourself, you're not just awkwardly staring at an empty seat across from you. Maybe I'm the only one who appreciates that, but I think it's a cute touch. The matcha here is the real deal. It's bright green, fragrant, and has that rich, earthy flavor with just enough natural bitterness that you know they're using quality matcha. A lot of places advertise matcha, but this one actually delivers. I ordered one of their matcha desserts with ice cream, and it was creamy, refreshing, and let the matcha flavor shine instead of burying it under sugar. My only complaint is that it was pretty warm inside. It was a hot summer day, and I honestly couldn't tell if the air conditioning was running or if it was just fans. Either way, it wasn't very cool inside. Thankfully I had ice cream, so it didn't bother me too much, but it's something to keep in mind if you're stopping by on a really hot day. Overall, another great visit. Friendly staff, consistently high-quality matcha, and a fun atmosphere. If you're a matcha lover, this is still one of my favorite spots in Chinatown.

I personally thought the matcha one was the best. The service was quick and informative. And I loved the little booths they had, it was adorable. That aside, I do think the drinks are mediocre. I ordered their most popular, Mango Matcha and their Hojicha Latte. Sadly I was disappointed, the mango matcha was VERY sweet, but the texture was creamy. I just couldn't get over the overpowering sweetness of the mango puree, but that's my personal preference. The mango flavor itself wasn't bad! Maybe half sweet would be the way to go, Im not sure if they do adjustments. If you love yuzu, I don't recommend their yuzu soft serve HOWEVER their matcha soft serve is pretty yummy Their Hojicha was watery...I really hoped it would be better. I don't recommend it.
