My husband was on seventh heaven. I got the affogato, and my GOODNESS, the affogato was SO darn good, I almost cried! Just creamy, caffeinated goodness to the last drop. The icecream is of great quality, so of course the coffee was fantastic. Lastly, we got a coconut cookie to share with a scoop of vanilla - ummmmmm, WHAT? What is this manna in my mouth? It's been a while since I've been here. I remember the cookies were amazing. So I stopped in for a walnut-chocolate chip. The girl was super-friendly. She asked if I wanted it heated. When I said no, she nicely explained the heating instructions for at home. The issue is, she then put a plastic glove on to pick up the cookie. But after the glove was on, she picked up her phone from the counter checked it really quick, and put it in her pocket. And then went to pick up my cookie with the glove. I guess my question is.. why even put a glove on. We all know how dirty phones are. I don't consider myself a health freak, but that's just too gross for me. Of course, I was too shy and stupid to say anything or ask for a different cookie. I tossed it in the garbage at home. I prefer to lose $4.00 than eat it after seeing that. Such an adorable interior! Cutesy with a bit of a vintage vibe. This place belongs somewhere less hidden away! The birthday cake milkshake I had was nothing special (flavor was a bit bland & the consistency was a bit too liquidy), but the macarons were amazing! I got the birthday cake & hazelnut flavors. Birthday cake is my favorite flavor anything so the milkshake was a bit of a letdown, but I definitely want to come back to try out more of the ice cream flavors! As we walk into the establishment there is one other person there and they seem to know the clerk behind the counter. I only assume this because the person hadn't ordered anything and was having a conversation and laughing with the clerk while not having any kind of order in front of them. Meanwhile there are other employees sitting off in the back and must be on break because they were both eating and scrolling on their phones. We (family of 3) proceed to place our order (a brownie & 2 milkshakes) and we go and sit down. While placing our order another family of 4 walks in and places their order right after us. The clerk brings out the brownie from our order but no milk shakes. He then brings out the family of 4 their order. As the clerk is going back behind the counter he is still talking with his friend the entire time. Another family of 3 walks in and the clerk takes their order. One of the other employees who I assume was on break gets up and makes the orders that have just been placed and brings them to the newest family while the clerk jokes and laughs with his friend and proceeds to make him a cup of ice cream and we are still waiting on 2 milkshake!! That 7 people/ 8 if you count the friend who have now gotten their orders before we got 2 milkshakes. Long story short it shouldn't take 25 minutes to get a milkshakes while placing your order before everyone else. Save your time and effort and go to Oberweiss down the street. We wanted a random milkshake and my mom had heard about this place on Facebook. The inside is SO cute! I loved the quartz countertops and the lighting. They have more indoor seating than a few smaller places and even have a sweets bar against the window. The cookies were huge! By the time we got there, almost at close, the only cookies left were oatmeal raisins. We both got banana cream pie milkshakes. You can make a milkshake with any flavor they have which I think is really nice. The flavor was really great! The only small complaint I have is that the milkshake was a bit thin but it was still top notch. The straw is paper which we can appreciate and it's huge! The staff was really nice. My 6yr old son wanted to really try macarons. We were able to try 6 great flavors. We also tried a huge birthday cake cookie and I almost returned just for another. One odd thing (mentioned by other posters) which I noticed. Theres no menu or prices listed here which is strange. I decided on the Cappuccino ice cream. A mini scoop. Excellent ice cream! It has a ribbon of chocolate running thru it. The scoop was placed in a cup and turned so the ribbon was visible. Done on purpose for appearance, to enhance attractiveness. Great flavor, it was clearly, recently made. Love fresh ice cream! I also chose a homemade coconut cream cookie. My best description would be a coconut macaroon cookie in a full size cookie. It was fantastic. Nice little place. I will be back with a dessert expert... my daughter who knows desserts very well. I went today and the cookie I love and the ice cream I usually have for my shake were out and the owner told me to call ahead anytime and she'll make sure to have both! It all worked out because my fav cookie was came fresh out the oven before I left... yummmm!! I can't recommend this place enough! This is a new hidden gem in the Plainfield area! The staff were all super genuine and sweet, and the manager was so kind and gentle :) She broke down all there was to offer here and we were able to sample all their flavors! We ended up with the vanilla chocolate chip (which was divine) and the bubble gum (with actual bubble gum drops in the ice cream!). They also offered fresh macaroons and chocolatey truffles. We definitely recommend the fruity pebble macaroons they are sooooo good as well as the chocolate mint truffle! We walked in to a beautiful establishment that has, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate, candy, and a variety of ice cream. They have really nice background music playing which adds to the very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The two girls at the counter were friendly and helpful. I ordered a peanut butter cookie, which they asked if I wanted warmed up, it was huge and delicious. Not to resist the ice cream, I ordered a scoop of the chocolate moose tracks, again delicious. My husband had the chocolate chip cookie and mint chip and he said it was great. Give this place a try. Between the selections, friendly staff, great atmosphere and the eating tables outside that have warm lights on them, it is definitely a place to go spend some time and enjoy good treats. I couldn't wait for this place to open, I was so pumped and excited since I'm a huge cookie fanatic. But I don't get the warm & fuzzies from the owner who occasionally works the register. She's standoffish and she seemed annoyed. I thought maybe it was an off day, so I went again and it's the same thing. Normally I would stop going all together but they have a darn good cookie, several to be exact. I've tried the plain chocolate chip, the chocolate chocolate, the chocolate m&m's, and the chocolate & walnut. All were delicious but it's hit or miss what is available when you come, they run out quickly and usually only have 2 or 3 options left. My son tried a shake and it was good. But be advised they DO NOT have a MENU and DO NOT post prices for anything!! Which is a bit of a trick because you don't know your total until after you have ordered everything and it is pricey. They get a lot of business and the line moves slow. I think if they at least had a menu with shake options or cookie options, it would make the line move faster. Instead they say well what kind of shake do you want, and you have to look through the ice cream case to see what the options are. It's just weird to me. Even just do a shake of the week or something. Even still, I have gone 3 times now. But I probably would have gone 10 times by now, if it weren't for the above. I discovered a crumble cookie up the road away's on Rt 59. They have a menu with pricing and move really quickly. I'm just a little sad because I try to support small business's. read more
