I took my son to the new location this past weekend to try out the food. We ordered takeout. We ordered the chicken fajita pizza and the fried goat cheese. This experience already started out poorly when the chef came bursting out of the kitchen to scream at the waitress who took our order. Apparently they were out of fried goat cheese. I ordered the steak and cheese egg rolls instead. That left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least seeing as he would be the one making our food. We had a soda and a cocktail while we waited for our food. The waitress is the only reason I'm giving this place any stars because she was kind and pleasant to interact with. The food took a while to come out and the establishment was not busy. When we got home the pizza looked lackluster. It was supposed to be a chicken fajita pizza but had banana peppers on it instead of bell peppers. The pizza was not good and we did not even eat half of it. The egg rolls were greasy and not flavorful. You would be much better off going to another pizza restaurant in town. This is our second time visiting the new location and the first time trying the food. We will not be back. read more

Tried the new location twice. The first time, hands down one of the soggiest pizzas I've had and we couldn't eat it because it was covered in hot synthetic honey. Second time we brought the family, ordered more items off the menu, and again, very disappointed. Yeah, come here for beers or to play darts and just skip the food entirely. Awful customer service! I do not suggest eating there. I placed an order and it was never delivered. Was told that was not something they could help. Once they give it to their driver it's out of their hands. Would not refund me or replace it. I've never experienced such poor customer service. I spoke to one girl who then put Jessie on when I asked for the manager. I am a long time loyal customer and I will NEVER eat here again. My car is broken down I had no groceries and waited over an hour for my food which never showed. 2 hungry kids here very disappointed. read more

The best pub in the Burg! Great food, great prices, the owner is awesome, and they do trivia! Every plate of food at our table was awesome- the pig fries, Buffalo tenders, fish and chips (huge piece of fish!), the burgers (SO juicy). The Mill City Punch was my favorite drink. Why? Why is this place not great? How can you take an easy concept- pub-style tapas and beer- and mess it up so completely? Our first trip to Mill City was on a Friday night around 7. It was dead inside, but we were greeted very warmly and didn't feel out of place. I immediately liked the industrial decor and noticed they had a cool menu. The three of us ordered beer from the friendly, prompt server (nice work there, guys), but were informed a couple minutes later that 2 of the 3 draft beers we ordered weren't available. It happens- I used to bartend, and sometimes suppliers mess up. OK. We order different beers. Somehow, my *draft* beer was warm and a tad flat. By this point, we decided to just get appetizers and go somewhere else. We ordered wings and tin can nachos. As another reviewer mentioned, the sauce on the wings made them soggy and rubbery, rather than complimenting the breading. Guys, turn your fryers up to a higher temp and don't sauce those wings until they're ready to go to the table! We didn't finish a single wing. The tin can nachos are interestingly served in an old, large coffee can, which is dumped out at your table; kind of cool, I guess, but the cheese was essentially Velveeta with Rotel tomatoes and chilis mixed into it. The only time I expect soft nacho cheese is when I'm at a game or a movie, so this struck us as completely bizarre. Even worse, the soft cheese had made the chips soggy. Yuck. We didn't each of that, either. For some reason, we came back about 6 weeks later and ordered flights of beer. Our very kind waitress (again, great staff!) came back and informed us that the cheese and crackers we would normally get were nearly out, so we'd have to split a serving of them. First, I didn't see anywhere that we got cheese and crackers, and second, why are you admitting you only have one left? Say you're out and offer something else, or better yet, send someone out to the grocery store that's a mile down the road to get more cheese and crackers. Oh, that single portion of crackers were stale, by the way. I really, really want this place to work. Fitchburg needs more independent restaurants. However, the complete lack of care in the menu and food quality has scared us away for good. read more

The best Lobster Mac and cheese around! Get it with jalapeños for a lil kick. The tin can nachos are also very good and are presented in a creatively. My favorite go to drink is Citizens Cider on tap with a cinnamon sugar rim. If you are looking for a laid back place to chill out on the weekends while listening to live music then you should check them out. They have darts and a pool table as well. read more

Weve been in a few times and had a decent experience. Usually head in and have a few drinks and eat...foods decent pub food but nothing special. Tonight we decided to head in for the celtics game (closeout game). 2 of the 4 tvs in the bar area were broken so our viewpoints were limited. We decided to stay, order drinks, ask for the game to be put on-which they happily obliged. Unfortunately 3 of the "mug club" mugs were hanging in view of the tv covered in dust. We asked if they could be temporarily moved during the game and were told no. When we offered $20 for them to be moved we were informed by the "bar manager" that he couldnt move them because "if they get broken...ill get chewed out..." what kind of bar are you running during a closeout game you cant move 3 dusty mugs so your guests can comfortably see the game and spend money on your drinks? Mill City Pub took the place of the Iron Horse on Airport Road in Fitchburg. They completely revamped the decor & the bar and it looks great! They offer a pretty decent selection of beers on tap that are chilled perfectly, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and the 2 times I've been there, they had great live music! Here is where they really need to work on some things in order to keep people coming back. The food is lousy and it's overpriced. The menu looks interesting with things like Wings with Infused Sauces using beer and or whiskey, Nachos, Fried Goat Cheese, Flat Breads, Tacos, Mac N cheese, etc...The execution of these things leaves much to be desired. The wings were not crispy at all, in fact, they were rubbery & chewy. The "sauce" on the Barrel Blossom Wings tasted like apple sauce that was just dumped on top, making them cold. We also tried the Fireball wings that were were a little more palatable once we asked for some hot sauce to cover them up with.(We sent back the apple wings & they were removed from the bill because those were pretty awful). The Sweet Dream Flat Bread was nothing to rave about. It looked as if they tore 1 slice of cheese in sections & plopped it on the top of some pulled pork concoction, the tacos were probably the best things and by best I mean mediocre, and the "tin can nachos" is this gimmicky thing where they dump nacho fixens in a large can & the waitress lifts the can spilling the contents on a platter at your table. It's weird and messy and it was nothing more than tri colored tortilla chips with cubes of chicken that were burnt with some strange white sauce that made me think they were trying to do a Béchamel that honestly tasted like jarred Alfredo sauce. Most everything tasted processed and reheated. This was my second time eating there. The first time I went I had a party of 3 with me and a party of 4 the second time a few weeks later, and we all agree, the food is just not good. I hope the owners take the criticism and use it to improve what could be a really good foundation for a successful local business! I would definitely go back to enjoy an ice cold beer and listen to some live entertainment, but until they do some big improvements on the quality of their food, I will not be dining there. read more

Great food! Great service! Have been twice. First, we had a late lunch on a weekday. Someone on FB had mentioned today's special of Bluberry BBQ pulled pork sliders infused in Wachusett Bluberry Ale and I had to try it. It sounded like an interesting combination of flavors and very well could have been way too much Bluberry or hardly any to really advertise as such. It was perfect! The chef had been playing around and experimenting with entrees the night before and told 4tgghe manager to try it. They immediately pit it on the menu for the next day! I wish it was on their regular menu, but they do have same flavored chicken wings. Theyre good, but not as good as the sliders in my opinion. :P The 2nd time we went, it was Saturday night at 10:30pm. There was a band playing and the place was packed! We found a table and prepared myself to wave over a server or head to the bar and ask for someone. Before we got the chance, a server looked at us, and signaled that she'd be over in a sec! Very disappointing. Went in on a Thursday night around supper time and there was no one in the place besides a few locals drinking cheap beer. That should have been all the incentive we needed to turn around and leave but we decided to give it a try anyway. We ordered the fried goat cheese, the beef sliders, the raspberry chipotle wings, and the scotch eggs. Just for the record they call the scotch eggs Rollstone Boulders. If it weren't for the boulders I would have given them two stars. They were really good. A decent filling portion, seasoned perfectly and not over cooked at all. They were also available smothered in buffalo sauce which might be worth trying. On the other hand, the fried goat cheese was literally just; a breaded chunk of goat cheese with some canned jellied cranberry sauce on the side. They were actually gummy and oversized. I know I know, who complains about too large a portion? Trust me here. Too much goat cheese without any other flavor to offset is not good. The sliders were a great concept- beef patties on small cinnamon donuts, with thick cut bacon and smoked Gouda cheese.... with a honey drizzle even. How can it go wrong, right? Two words " hockey pucks" The meat was dry and crunchy and too small for the donuts. I am a burger and slider freak and didn't even touch the second one. Very disappointing. The wings were just over-cooked and bland. They presented well but had no taste at all. Who serves any sort of chipotle wing that doesn't taste like there's any chipotle in it and doesn't offer a dipping sauce? So.... 4 items, 3 of which were boring or just bad and 3 beers came to $90 with tip.... I guess I should throw in over priced too. Probably won't be back. I'm guessing this place will just become a local bar eventually, hang on for a few years maybe, and then close to no ones surprise or disappointment. read more

I really like the concept of this place and the atmosphere they created. However, I think it may be hurt because of the area/location. They have live music, a decent food menu and plenty of drink options but the people that were there when I went weren't the best population. They were older, some creepier gentlemen hitting on a married women, and not to many people. I think this place has great potential and I hope it makes it but as of right now it's not going to be the first place I go on a Friday or Saturday night. read more

There is literally NO bad choices on the menu, most of the dishes are original creations and absolutely fantastic. The quality and presentation of the food is like one would expect of a MUCH more expensive establishment. The staff is incredible and makes the whole experience relaxing and fun. well up till last night i never had a problem with anything that i encountered at mill city. but last night myself and 5 others gathered here for drinks and dinner,we ordered drinks and the waitress said if we wanted to start a tab a credit card was required,no problem, everyone in the group but myself chose to start a tab i chose to pay as i went,no problem, so they brought us our drinks i ordered a beer and shot and the bill was included with my drinks which i promptly paid with a tip. well a little while later the waitress returned to take all our orders for food so when she finished about 5 minutes later she returned and spoke to me about how i was paying for my meal as she did not find any cc info on me in the computer system i told her i was paying cash and she said ok and went of, so a little while later she returned and said the food would be out in about ten minutes or so and then came around the table to check on drinks and i needed another so she went of and returned with our round of drinks which included a check for me for my meal and third drink. well from this point on meals start comin out and everyone recieves their meal but me so time goes by everyone is eating and still no meal for me so i call the waitress over to inquire about my meal i ordered and it had meatballs in it and i was told they were making the meatballs and it takes time,well a little while later everyone is finishing up their meals and i have still not recieved my meal so i call the young man that apparently is the bar manager over and ask him what is going on and he starts beating around the bush so i come out and ask him if customers are paying for a meal with cash do they have to pay up front and was told yes! our the whole party had our jaws on the floor, and the word bs was used a few times,so essentially Mill city has a policy that if you are paying cash for a meal you have to pay before they place your order! well i was astounded by that more than stupid policy, but what irked me even more is with all the interactions with the waitstaff we had it was never mentioned once that a customer paying cash for a meal had to pay before the order was put in! by the way this policy did not apply to drinks as i got three drinks before paying for them. also one waitress took all our drink orders and did not id anyone well one of our party showed up late and a different waitress came over and took his drink order and id'd him! in closing the staff on this evening were obviously not up to the task of assisting customers in a busy environment as it was busy in there last night and they also were not very adept when it came to informing customers paying with cash about the policies of the establishment towards cash customers, dont know if this staff was acting on their own accord or if they were following the orders of management but as this was the first time ever in my life that i encountered this pay before we place your order bs i will not be returning to mill city and you can bet your bottom dollar that i will be telling all family and friends about this pay up before we place your order attitude at mill city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We gave this place four stars out of five because this is a new outfit and they are still developing. We are an older couple -- mid sixties -- and fairly set in our ways so we usually take the safe route and only go to places we know and that we are comfortable with. Our Son and Daughter-in-law recommended this place so we went in for an early supper. One of the critical things a new place needs to do (and there are a number of places that fail in this) is to let the customers know how pleased they are that they are there and to encourage them to come back. They did that and did it well. The menu is unusual but in a kind of cool and funky way. We enjoyed the food and they have a very unique nachos dish that we got a real kick out of and for anyone who likes pub like nachos we would encourage them to try this. read more

I am a student at FSU and love campus pizza! I know Cordio's establishments are amazing and have always treated me well until tonight. Everything was running smooth-- the bartenders Jimmy and Tanya were excellent, responsive, and knew how to make great drinks. Unfortunately, our Friday evening was cut short by the "manager" on duty (possibly drunk). She told us we had "30 seconds" to chug our half full IPAs when the establishment closed in roughly 15 minutes. It was a bit disrespectful the way the manager went about telling us it was closing time. I loved the place, however the manager tarnished my opinion. read more
