If you like to meditate or just need a place to clear your head, this is the place. The parking is free and you can enter the park from two separate places. Watch where you walk though because the ecosystem there is fragile in places. Be sure to read the information at the beginnings of the trails as well as at separate places throughout the park. I highly recommend this park for its quiet and because it is much less crowded than other Atlanta parks.

While visiting a friend, we were looking for a little outside time. We saw Shelby Park listed…read moreon-line. So we headed over to check it out. Pulling up I was surprised at the small size. It is basically a large pretty pond with a walkway around the perimeter. Add to that swinging park benches and picnic tables. The bridge looks new and the trees look old. I love mature trees that add character. The large water feature in the center of the pond looks great as I watch the ducks enjoying the spray. We even saw turtles! This adorable, well maintained park is sitting right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. How fun. You could literally walk out of your house and have your morning coffee at the park that is just outside your door. There is a nice parking lot also for people like us who visit from other places. Overall, this charming little park is perfect for a bit of outdoor time without having to commit to long trek through the woods. Coming from a Chicago girl, this was perfect for me.

The memorial plaque is inside Memorial Park and the statue is in front of the Statesboro Convention Center. The trail can be accessed by going behind the statue and around the Farmers Market building. It is currently 1.2 miles end to end and has a dog park and a few but very limited bench seating.

Nice and clean restrooms are at the Gentilly Rd header. Signage is also here. Trail is for walking or riding bikes. The map shows the current and planned trail. Last heard, they don't plan to finish the planned anymore since Brooklet doesn't want it as they believe it'll invite crime.

This small park on the south end of city City of Statesboro does not have any features like a…read moreplayground. There is some parking, some beautiful trees and a sculpture. There is also a memorial to W Jones Lane. Little else. The memorial looks more like a headstone. It reads, "By resolution adopted October 16, 1980, the State Transportation Board of Georgia has recognizes the honorable W. Jones Lane for his years of dedicated service and devotion to the welfare of the people of the State of Georgia and for his support of the Department of Transportation in its efforts to improve transportation. Said resolution authorizes the erection of this monument designating state highway 73, U.S. 301 which runs through Bulloch County from the Bulloch County / Evans County Line to the Bulloch County / Screven County line as the "Jones Lane Memorial Highway."
