I was in a rush, to a baby's baptism, I stopped by Harvey's in Bishop's Corner for the pre baptism party which I wanted to bring a bottle of wine to. As I walked inside a gentleman, for all I know he might be Harvey, came to assist me with selecting a wine. He told me about some of the taste profiles, he was very knowledgeable about the products in his store. Then I spotted a Chardonnay called Prayers of Saints. What's more fitting than this for a baptism? I didn't take my own advice, I got it based on the packaging. However, the gentleman did reassure me, this was a good pick. It's light and refreshing. There are also plenty of other liquors, beers and wine options at Harvey's. I would stop by when I need to pick up something for a gathering.

Anywhere that can maintain a first-name basis (without being judgemental) is a major win in my book. And this is where I found out about the new extended liquor laws in CT. There's always something sort of sale or special, which is great if you like new things and the wine selection is bigger than I thought it would be at first glance. Just missing one star because it is a small place and there are a lot more shops nearby with bigger selections, but this gets the job done fast and easily, with some personality rolled in.

The guy added that you also get a 10% discount on single prices if you buy four, and there prices were fair to begin with IMO. Don't fooled by the cooler cases and be sure to step into the beer cave to see the full selection! Super nice, super helpful, good prices, great selection--not much to say about the decor! I think I will be back in West Hartford, and when I do, this will be my shop.

Also when you make a purchase the receipt says "The Package Store". This place is small but absolutely packed with variety, especially if you want beer! Making your own six pack out of the cooler is a great way to find your next favorite beer! Bottle Stop is right between the huge Avon Goodwill Store and an auto parts dealer, and truth be told it looks small and fairly unimpressive from the parking lot. But once you go inside you'll see that the store is actually quite large and the aisles seem to go on forever. Their beer section is enormous, filling both sides of an aisle from the front of the store to the back. They sell quite a few single bottles so you can be adventurous and create your own six packs. We went to the bargain wine section and walked away with a nice Pinot Grigio for $3.99. Wandering the aisles and checking out their big inventory made me pretty sure they would have whatever I might need from a liquor store.

We haven't been here in about 8+ years and it's changed ownership since we last visited. We had a…read moregood experience prior, just hadn't made our way back, and felt it was time for another visit. Our experience was absolutely fantastic! The vibes and ambiance in the space are great, the bat has all the bottles on display of all the options, the menu has a great variety of unique and interesting cocktail interpretations. We got to chatting with Chris and learned so much from him, got to try so many interesting creations from Waypoint, which even led us to buying a couple bottles to take home! We now can't wait to go back again. Definitely going to be a new weekend spot when we want casual hangouts.
