This is my first time here! My first ever brewery ! Labyrinth Brewing Company began in a crowded garage on a cold autumn Thursday night. It was just a typical brew-club meeting until lightning struck, the planets aligned, and galaxies collided. Long-time friends decided to jump head-first into their dream of owning a craft brewery in the beautiful historic district of Manchester, Connecticut and Labyrinth Brewing Company was born. [1] Pilot Lite Lager Lager - American Light 3.3% ABV A crushable light lager with 100 calories per 12oz serving. Very good! Light and not very strong. "Crushable" means easy to slam it down! [2] Pilot Cosmo Sour Sour - Other 3.3% ABV This cosmo-inspired experimental brew is tart with a refreshing combo of cranberry & lime. Yummy ! It goes well with a Cosmopolitan! [3] The Maize Cream Ale 5.4% ABV For our light beer drinker friends, The Maize has a slight sweet corn character & just a hint of honey . It's a crisp lawnmower beer . Nice. Very slight corn taste and a touch of honey . This is something you drink on a "lawnmower" or after you mow the lawn . [4] Turbo Love Juice IPA - New England / Hazy 6.5% ABV Inspired by one of our favorite metal gods, TLJ is hopped with citra, cascade, loral & ekuanot hops. This pineapple -orange tropical blast has restrained bitterness and a creamy mouthfeel. "Restrained" (not hoppy?) bitterness. Interesting...Very good ! This is more my style ! Stronger and cloudy. Not too bitter. [5] Helios IPA - American 6.5% ABV This double dry hopped IPA is perfect for a sunny day. Bitterness meets aromas of tropical fruit, grapefruit, over-ripened berries & pine. Yeah. This is very good ! Nice fruit aromas! Fruit and "pine." An interesting combination. [6] Don't Break the Oats IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy 8.2% ABV As a being now possessed of an oat filled body. In this world I swear to give my full allegiance to this hop filled master. By these names: Idaho 7, Centennial, Sitiva I will crush this beer ! Very good ! The stronger, the better! [8.2% ABV] Double IPA Tonight is WWE trivia night! I'm going for the WWE Trivia Championship Title! [7] Farmhouse Ale - Bière de Garde 7.6% ABV A blonde version of this traditional style with bready malt character, slight sweetness and medium body. Restrained hops lend a slight aroma and flavor from Hallertau Blanc and Perle. Additional clove and banana character from this particular Belgian yeast strain. Yummy ! This might be my favorite so far! [8] Belgian Tripel 9.2% ABV A lighter colored tripel with a very similar bready malt character as the Bière de Garde but with a lighter body and slight alcohol warmth. Using the same Belgian strain as our Quad this yeast produces more restrained phenolic character than found in the Belgian Pale Ale and Bière de Garde. Wow ! This is fantastic! [9] Belgian Quadrupel 10.2% ABV The muscles from Brussels of Belgian beers with a bready backbone and notes of dark fruits. Finishes dry but with a slight sweetness. Aged in former Malbec barrels accentuating the dark fruit character while adding toasted oak notes and tannins associated with red wine. Yummy ! Sweet! [10] Mr Dunkel Lager - Munich Dunkel 5.3% ABV Mr. Dunkel is a traditional German Munich Dark Lager crafted using old school brewing techniques, German malts and hops, and some new school flair. While Dunkel means dark don't let the name fool you. Mr. Dunkel is an easy drinking lager with bready flavors and a malty sweetness similar to caramel and toffee. Malt forward with low hop character and a slightly dry finish wraps this beer up into an easy drinking package. Prost! Nice! Easy to drink. [11] Wail of the Banshee Scottish Export Ale 5.4% ABV Wail of the Banshee reads with a subtle caramel sweetness and a hint of butterscotch. Very good ! Not strong but a little butterscotch is in there. [12] Freezing Moon 2022 Stout - Imperial / Double 11% ABV Aged in bourbon barrels, this elixir will warm you when the icy clutches of the hibernal night grip your soul like a frozen nightmare. Labyrinth Brewing is an amazing brewery located in the Mills area of Manchester. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It's a really neat space with plenty of comfortable seating and even has a heated outdoor deck! They have tons of events that help to bring the community together and it serves as a great hangout spot for those who live in the Mills. Since Ritual Pizza moved into the space, you can have your pizza freshly made (vegan or gluten free options available) to order while sipping a beer, soda, n/a beer, or even a craft cocktail! First visit to Labryth! I was impressed by the amounts of sours and ciders they had on tap. I ordered the Cherry Pie sour and it was so good - tasted just like cherry pie filling! It was pretty packed so we weren't here long, but was able to find a table to hang out for a little. Best part is they're dog friendly inside. Labyrinth Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Manchester, Connecticut in August 2018. It was founded by friends Adam Delaura, Chris Walnum and Sean Gama. Walnum and Gama met through the Manchester school system, while Delaura met them through mutual friends and interests. The three began homebrewing and eventually they decided to open their own brick and mortar brewery. The location picked was a former waste silk warehouse: part of a compound of buildings that used to be the historic Cheney Brothers silk mills. Today, most of the buildings have been converted into apartments. The three partners quit their day jobs and spent nearly two years converting the space into their brewery and taproom. The name "Labyrinth" was chosen as a reference to their journey towards creating a new business and creating good beer. They like to think of the space as a coffee shop, except that they serve beer instead of coffee. Today, Delaura and Gama are the only owners of the brewery. I visited Labyrinth Brewing for the first time this past Friday while I was cycling the network of bike trails in the Greater Hartford area. I visited a few breweries that day and Labyrinth was my second stop. I really liked the surrounding area: the Cheney Brothers National Historic Landmark District. There were lots of beautiful old buildings. As soon as I walked into the brewery, I was recognized by some of their staff for my blog work. Labyrinth's staff were so hospitable and friendly and they made me feel right at home. I loved the interior with all of the exposed brick and industrial lighting; it was very cozy inside. Amanda, the tasting room manager, introduced herself to me and answered all of my questions. I started out with a sampler flight of six beers which included "Sour Batch 1" (Blood Orange Raspberry Sour Ale), "Turbo Love Juice" (New England IPA), "Man Cave" (Brown Ale), "Wail of the Banshee" (Scottish Export Ale), "Belgian Quad Aged in Malbec Barrels", and "Kuato" (Imperial Red Ale). I was VERY impressed with all of their offerings. Although I tend to prefer IPAs, it was the last three beers of the flight that really caught my attention. I ended up purchasing bottles of the Belgian Quad and "Freezing Moon" (Barrel Aged Stout) to take home. I had a fantastic visit to Labyrinth and look forward to coming back soon! read more

Labyrinth brewing is simply a"maze"ing! Tl:dr Excellent beer, cider, and sours for great prices and a vibrantly homey atomosphere! The indoor area sports a rustic yet vibrant setting surrounded by lights and wooden furniture that was handcrafted by the owners! The outdoor section is perfect for hot summer evenings. (Note: the outdoor section closes one hour early to accommodate local noise codes.) (Note: Pets are allowed as long as they are quiet.) The service was attentive. They were timely and were able to help with some recommendations from the menu. Great prices for this high caliber of craft brew! Their menu is filled all types of beer, sours, and ciders. Now for the drinks: Overall the drinks were the perfect amount of hoppiness for me. Just a nice tingle on the tongue. The brand new Starburst Blonde ale was light with notes of fruit and a floral aroma. The perfect summer drink! The raspberry cider was rich and bursting with raspberry and grape notes. There was a distinct aroma of olive which was surprisingly provided and uniquely rich combo of taste and aroma! My guest had the Still Alive sour. They noted that it was delicious! We waited and waited...not for a place like this, but for this exact place. The anticipation of that day...huge. Would it be one of those situations where the expectations grow so large that reality can't possibly meet them? Nope! Labyrinth has been great thus far! It's in the historic silk mill part of Manchester, and seems to be getting great local support. I'm sure being located walking distance from the massive apartment complexes that the old mills have become will be great for business. I used to be in the area all the time ...wish Labyrinth was around then! They make several types of beer, were offering local wine and cider most recently as well, you can bring in outside food, you can get tasters or flights, they will fill growlers from other breweries, and they had live music last time (Friday night) as well! Parking was getting tough, as it was very busy, but I still found a spot. (Worst case you could probably just park in the neighboring apartment lots, which have so many tenants that they couldn't possibly monitor cars...). Getting their is easy..it's only a couple minute drive from Exit 2 or Exit 3 off of I-384, so stop in, grab a pint, and support local. read more

I was super excited to visit Labryinth during its opening weekend. They had 7 beers on tap. Each were available as full pours or sample price. (Growlers start next week.) The beers were definitely solid. My favorite was their lime gose with coriander and juicy Helios. Their rapsberry wheat also was nice and with a little pepper. It's a very nicely-designed brewery in an old industrial building, I believe. There's nice use of wood and cool windows you can peep into to see the brewing area. The bartenders did a good job with the bar area and keeping the beer flowing. You can bring in outside food. read more

Labyrinth Brewery in Manchester is a beautiful space. I've gone here many times through the years. The space is inviting with various lights inside, and outside during the warmer months. There are a few different seating options, at the bar, couch and tables. Sometimes they have live music playing. I love the art they have displayed across the space, they even have paintings on the ceiling. It truly goes well with the vibe of the brewery and is very unique. This brewery doesn't offer any food, they sometimes have a food truck, or you can bring food from another source and enjoy it here. My big problem however, is the selection of beer is very underwhelming. I think I enjoyed it much more in the previous years. Today when I went they were out of the "Cherry in the Middle", which is a good cider. They don't offer any sours, this is very disappointing to me, because that's my favorite type of beer, but I suppose not every brewery makes what I like best. Honestly, it was difficult to pick something for a drink here, they have mostly ciders and IPAs, I prefer ciders in the summer and IPAs are not for me. It's not a great idea for me to get a flight here, as I had a hard time choosing one beer yet alone five. I finally got Raspberry Mochatron. This is a milk stout it's very rich of chocolate and coffee, I couldn't taste raspberry at all. I drank it, but I didn't enjoy it at all. I was also really hungry while we were here, they don't offer any food and there was no food truck. There are some small bags of chips and pretzels. I got a little bag of Drunk Alpaca chips, this is nice since it's a small business of chips that's usually sold in breweries. The bag was only 3 ounces and it was $4. Honestly the chips are just fine, I just needed something to snack on. Labyrinth was very busy tonight. It is dog friendly, I love playing with the puppies when I see them. The service was quick and attentive. I'm underwhelmed by the selection of beers and the availability. We absolutely fell in love with Labyrinth! From the logo and beer names to the awesome staff, this place had it all. A fantastic vibe and so many puppies!!! Pet friendly beyond the normal pet friendly place with dogs on couches, staff giving love to them and water bowls everywhere. A very comfortable setting, seating and tables are roomy. They have cozy windows that peek into the brew room which I adore. My sister described it as industrial but very chic. The front steps are designed in a great way to also serve as a loading dock as needed. The purple bathroom color is a perfect color, I love purple. Also, the beer was actually amazing!! Milk Sickle was my favorite and I don't even really like IPAs. We also enjoyed Hesperia IPA and Man Cave for my husband. The names are so creative and the logos for each beer is art. Couldn't find much citra hops, they didn't have the DIPA so missed the citra hops. But overall not bad. Loved the Cerberus. Seating: lot of seating so good place to hang out. Beautiful, warm ambiance that was perfect for a cool November night...excellent service from a bartender who gave me four(!) samples of different beers (all fantastic) without me even asking...and most importantly, high quality beers poured into real, honest-to-goodness pint glasses...a rarity in these days of small pours. Labyrinth is one of those breweries that I wish were closer to where we live! It's a modest exterior, but the interior is fantastic with lots of seating, and a really nice bar. At the time of our visit, they were also dog friendly, but always check before you bring your dog, as laws and enforcement are subject to change. Anyway, there's a lot of history in this district, and some of it is on display here as well. There's some decor that references the Cheney family, and that was cool to learn about, as I wasn't familiar with the history. The vibe is overall super chill and friendly, lots of regulars and visitors like us. They have a bar setup for ordering as opposed to designated lines, which adds to the chill feel. The staff are really friendly, and happy to talk to you about the beer. They have flights, and the beers overall are really great, with a lot of interesting different styles on tap, mostly IPAs but they have a few other things on offer. I liked the Greek mythology naming theme as well. Connecticut has a plethora of good breweries, and this is definitely one of them! read more

I stopped by here this past Thursday afternoon for some after work beers. Labyrinth Brewing is located an industrial part of Manchester and the parking lot was nearly full. We arrived to the brewery at right around 5:30 and as you would expect from a full parking lot, the place was decently full. The longer we stayed the busier it got too which seemed crazy to me for a Thursday night after work and by the time we left I counted 70+ people that I could see! It does have a great inside feel to it with lots of exposed wood including the floor, tables and roof and then exposed brick walls as well. All of that actually made the building feel historic and a little more cozy. To help out with that, one of the corners had a portable fireplace which was on and the chandelier was large and felt old school with the yellow orange lights. They also had orange lights behind the bar which were reminiscent of candles inside lanterns which was actually pretty cool. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight. At Labyrinth Brewing Company this consists of 5 beers and each have their own price which ranged from $2.50 to $3.50 the night I was there. I ended up choosing the Milk-sickle (milkshake IPA), Helios (NEIPA), Bugbear Warlord (ESB), Man Cave (Brown Ale) and Wyverns Boysenberry Wheat. For the bunch my total was $14 which seemed a little steep but at least they felt like reasonable pours. For my first beer I started out with the Boysenberry Wheat. It was a nice and red colored beer which started out with flavors of the boysenberry before finishing with your normal wheat beer flavor. It was very drinkable and I could see myself sitting out on the porch in the summer enjoying a few. The second beer that I tried was the Bugbear Warlord. In general I am a fan of ESB's and this one definitely delivered although the bitterness continues past the finish and left a not so great flavor in my mouth. Up third for me was the Man Cave which had the caramel flavor of a brown ale before finishing with a smokiness which I dug. The fourth beer I tried was the Helios and boy did I like this one. As an IPA it was dank and juicy with a citrus profile that lasted past the finish. Even though it was titled a NEIPA, it felt a lot more West Coast to me. Last but certainly not least was the Milk-Sickle which i was expecting to be the best and sold me to head to Labyrinth. It was as good as expected with a creaminess to it as well as a creamsicle like flavor which went along perfectly with the hops. Out of the bunch, I think I enjoyed the Milk-sickle, Helios, Boysenberry Wheat and Man Cave in that order and I would not order the ESB again. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed the beer but make sure to arrive early though as this place was bumping by the time we left. read more

Tried this place out for the first time with my fiance and my friend yesterday. We each got a flight so we got to try a lot of the beers they had. The beers were pretty good, really liked their apricot sour and their New England IPAs. My friend isn't a fan of either of those but they had a great variety so we were all able to find things we liked. The ambiance was fantastic - lots of lights so it was festive but not overwhelming. Love that they allow dogs ! Saw some people who ordered pizza to be delivered there - wish we lived closer so we could do this! Love that lots of the beer names revolve around Greek mythology, sticking with the Labyrinth theme... cool mugs too. Definitely recommend. Loved it! Great beers and a very warm and cozy environment. Games on the tables to play and couches if you prefer to sit and stay for a while. The assortment of beers and ciders was excellent and we were able to choose a flight where we enjoyed just about every beer included. We also tried some ciders and found those to be good as well. They had snacks like pretzels that you could purchase which is always nice. It's a place where you can bring your own food or have your food delivered their. There is a crepe truck in the parking lot where you could text your order and then go pick it up. We tried that and it was excellent. They had a 2 piece hand who played what I consider my kind of music which is from the seventies and folksy. They were so good and it was just a relaxing place to try some new beers. They also have a table set up for the POW's and MIA's which showed a great deal of respect and I thought that was a wonderful touch on Veterans Day weekend. You go up to the bar and order your own beers and bring them back to your table to enjoy. There were a number of children there which I found unusual but I am seeing is a pattern at these breweries. I am a huge fan of Labyrinth, especially because it is dog friendly! If you're looking for a fun place to go listen to some live music or play some trivia, Labyrinth dabbles in it all. There is a lot of seating, from bar stools to tables to couches, and there are a lot of options for drinks. I'm not a beer drinker, but I love the local ciders on tap, and my husband said he enjoys the beers, too, especially their IPAs. Parking is horrendous...truly horrific... so don't be surprised if you have to park somewhere and walk. And bring your doggy! read more

A great place all around! The place is about the size of a bar. It is not overly spacious like Bad Sons or 5 Churches, but bigger and more accommodating than Noble Jay or Beer'd. They let you bring your own food, but there was also a BBQ truck there in case you forgot. Another big plus is that they are dog friendly. The night I was there they also had live music (which happened to be my friend Jer). It was a fantastic time. Lots of dancing, singing, and plenty of delicious beverages to support us. They had a wide variety of things on tap. From IPA's, ales, sours, and stouts to guest ciders, one each from the 4 in CT. Unlike most other places, they also let you include the ciders in your flight! They also had wines available in case beer is not your thing. The beers were pretty good. My favorite was the Milk Sickle, a milkshake IPA. It gives you all the feels of summer. All in all, welcoming and just ready for everyone to have a good time. The only not great thing was parking. The lot for the place is tiny and being in an area with lots of apartments there is not shortage of intimidating signs about "Residents Only." I came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab some lunch and some good beer with my boyfriend. We got sandwiches from the food truck outside and then came in for a flight of beer. A flight ran $12.50 and you got to try all 5 beers on the menu. The maize was really good and tasted a lot of corn! I also loved the stout. It'd recommend a visit! read more
