I had a first appointment and the staff was very polite and welcoming. After I was put in a room and Araceli not only was friendly but also gave me so much information and options as to what I could do. She made me feel so comfortable and I was not in panic mode as I would be at other dental offices. On the day of my procedure they explained everything (thank god Araceli was there) she game me courage and added more strength to my nervousness. Fantastic Staff! I came in as a referral from another dental office (Premiere Dental = AWFUL), and was treated so nicely. The front staff was very sweet, accommodating, and patient. They were mindful and understanding of the pain I was in and treated me like an actual person! The Doctors were informative, super nice, and VERY good at their jobs. I had to reschedule my appointment twice as a "new patient." I go to UC Berkeley but I am on MediCal so, naturally, I can't afford to get dental work in Berkeley without insurance. I asked for an appointment to fit my schedule and didn't get one so I let them know I might not be able to make the appointment since I live 4 hours away. They said it would be no issue if I just rescheduled. I finally have time to go to the dentist since school is coming to an end. I decided to call and make an appointment and they said they can't accept me as a patient because I "missed" two appointments even though I called and rescheduled 24 hours+ prior to this. I explained my situation to them and the receptionist told me to get my procedures done in Berkeley if I couldn't make it to my appointments. I tried to explain to them that I couldn't afford it. They said I could talk to the manager about my situation. I was forwarded to the manager and was on hold for one hour before the phone was hung up. I called back and they hung up on me again. Please don't come here. For people like me who can't afford dental help, these systems make being low income so much worse than it already is. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had at the dentist . I waited outside for 20 minutes . They finally let me in sat me in my room and I waited another 20 minutes . They came in numbed me and I then had to wait another 20 minutes for them to start the procedure . I was getting number 11 extracted from my pallet. They started and I could feel everything so I told them and they gave me another shot to numb. I felt a little better and they were having a hard time taking it out and he was being super rough I can't even explain how rough he was being. I was groaning and you could tell how much I was in. They couldn't get it out and during the procedure he said "we'll be right back". They then took a 30 minutes and I could heathe dentist talking to his staff . I was bleeding so much and not one person came into the room to check up on me . I was bleeding like crazy and I had to spit my blood in my mask and I had blood all over my bid. They finally came back cleaned me up a little and started again but I could feel the pain so they numbed me even more. Each shot got worse. I'm only 18 years old and I texted my mom about the horrible experience and they wouldn't let her in because he said "we're almost done" and it was finally out 15 minutes later. Scheduling my new patient appointment was easy, but for some reason I had 2 people call me to verify ins information the day before my appointment and then the receptionist took the information again when I checked in... my tech was Rebecca and I could not even begin to express how WONDERFUL she is. She is a sweetheart and engaged in conversation with me the entire visit, she even took it upon herself to schedule my follow up visit. The dentist himself saw me for maybe a whole 5 minutes, he didn't introduce himself to me at all, he was very short, I credit it to being busy... my husband had an appt scheduled the NEXT day and I get a call to inform us they are out of network with our insurance. I said wait a minute, I just went yesterday and no one said anything to me about that, Im scheduled to have some work done next week...she said she would call me back, turns out they were looking at the office in Chicago that UHC is not in-network with. All I know is the tech was great, the front office is a hot mess, the supervisor there was texting the entire time I stood there, for a good 15 minutes, while the receptionist struggled to input my ins information, which I had previously provided (eye roll). All in all, Rebecca is the reason I'm continuing service with them and I will always request to be scheduled with her, otherwise my business will be taken elsewhere. read more

BEWARE!!! Exactly why it has little stars and horrible reviews. People do not waste your precious time or money here!! Had my consult to see the dentist regarding an abcess molar pulled. He barely looked in my mouth and didn't even examine my mouth or that tooth! He said schedule for extraction. Took me almost 2 weeks to get in for it. Thats a long time for an abcess! So on the day of my appointment. TThere is a large accident on my way. I called 25 minutes in advance, put of courtesy, that I am running behind. The gal asks how long to you think it will be? I told her maybe 10 minutes. I am coming to you as fast as I can. I get to the office on 28th street at 3:10 and the doors are LOCKED!!! I banged on the door for over 5-10 minutes. I called the office with NO ANSWER!! Then at 3:22 someone opens the door and says they cannot see me because I am late. Yeah!! Because I stood out here banging on the door forever!! This place is God awful... I'm going to start from the beginning so people can get the full picture of what I was going through and how I was treated. I'm a mother of 6 children with COPD and I'm a full-time student at BC. The week before Finals week I experienced a tremendous infection in a tooth that had partially fallen out. I went to my dentist and was told I needed an oral surgeon and could not recieve an extraction until the infection had cleared. They prescribed me antibiotics and pain meds and referred me to an oral surgeon. I chose Millennium Dental. When I arrive for my consultation I had taken all prescribed meds and was still in pain and an infection was still present. Let me tell you, not even narcotic meds and antibiotics helped at this point. ( Side note Clove oil was very useful in relieving this pain) Again it's finals week coming. I am on Dean's list I value good grades and two classes shy of having my degree in Anthropology. I'm actually much more educated than half of their staff there, besides the doctors and was treated like a dumb child. They at first tried to sell me something that wasn't covered by my insurance. I thought I was going to have to pay. They failed to say it was optional. I was also told I had to wait to get my extraction and when I was asked to be given a prescription to treat my still present infection and pain I was told no, I would need to go to my dentists office. Keep in mind walk ins at my dentist takes hours. I said "I'm here at this doctor. Why would I go to another doctor to get a prescription I can get here?" I began to get frustrated at this point because I'd waited weeks to have some relief and none was offered here. I'd been up for nights at a time crying and writhing in pain and still had to meet my obligations to school and my family. I said "I want to speak to the doctor again". The response I got was, he's busy. Well this assistant went out to speak to another and found that I did in fact need a prescription for my infection otherwise I couldn't get my extraction. Well they wouldn't get paid if I can't get my extraction, would they? Surprise! I got a prescription! They set me an appointment for about two weeks out. Which brings me to today. I received a letter in the mail saying I'd need to have a driver or I wouldn't get the surgery. I asked a friend of mine to take the time out of his day to be my driver. We go in the appointment and I needed to use the restroom. The front restroom was out of order. The visit prior I was able to use a restroom in the back. I asked to use this restroom and was told "The closest restrooms at Carl's Jr." Hmmm? Really? I let them know that I had used the bathroom in back and was still refused. At this point I'm telling them look I'm getting put to sleep I need to go to the bathroom. In a very rude matter of fact tone I get "You're only getting one tooth pulled so we are not sedating you" OK so that makes it all better that I have to pee and you guys are telling me take a stroll down the street. Not to mention I was told to bring a driver and he's not needed. I asked to speak to the office manager and was given her number because of course she has the day off. At that point I'm ready to never ever come to this place again and had I not been desperate to have this extraction I would have left then and there. I got my tooth pulled and I left. But no it didn't end there, of course not. I'm home not even two hours after having a tooth removed and in pain and what do you know? Do you know anybody that wants to talk after having a tooth pulled? Neither do I.... That manager who had today off, she calls. She didn't call for me to lodge a complaint, no she called to confront me. "I understand you got loud with one of my employees this morning." You have got to be kidding me! She called to have a confrontation. This is the most God awful place and they have no concern for the pain and suffering you are going through or compassion. Nevermind the fact that us, the patients and our insurance pays their dam bills. You'd think we'd get better treatment. Anybody that's looking for people to be nice or compassionate this is NOT THE PLACE! Oh and they still didn't renew their license for Norco or Hydrocodone. What kind of oral surgeon can't prescribe proper pain meds? I can't take Tylenol 3 and Ibuprofen does nothing.They think because people are on Medi-Cal that makes them less worthy of quality care. No Millennium workers, I'm fully capable of writing a review and not coming across as an idiot. Everybody considering them I'd keep searching. read more

They changed the price of lots of the services after receiving treatment, this was a straight patient payment, no insurance, so they already knew what they where charging me for prior to the procedures, but then changed the price of lots of of the stuff after. read more

I'd give negative stars if it was possible! RUN AWAY! This place has the absolute worst office staff I have ever dealt with. I took my daughter for a consultation in Jan 2017 & they had to send a request to my insurance for authorization. Beginning ofMarch I got a denial letter because Millenium had to correct the way they requested the work to be done. No complaints about that, it's just one of those things. But they said they would call me to schedule the appointment as soon as it was authorized. Finally the end of April I stopped into the office to see what was going on & all the receptionist could tell me was that there was a note in my daughter's chart saying for the office manager Julia to call me and the note had been in there since March, but I NEVER received a call. Julia was not in the office at the time, so I called her back later that day and she was very rude. It wasn't even what she said, just how she said everything. Apparently my daughter needed to have a CT scan done before the work could be done so I asked to have a referral mailed to me and her response was "fine I guess I can mail one out". Then she very rudely said "no work can be done anyways because you never brought in the medical clearance". I informed her the surgeon faxed it in back in January, but I'd have them send it again. A few days later I got the referral for the CT scan and Julia put the wrong tooth # on it and when I called the place to schedule the appointment, they didn't take my insurance so I would have to pay out of pocket. So I went back down to Millenium Dental to ask for a referral to another place to have the CT scan done and the receptionist informed me that there wasn't even anything in my daughter's chart saying she needs a CT scan done, so I handed her the referral I was sent and informed her that the wrong tooth # was also put on it. She was rude & said she couldn't help me and I'd have to wait an hour for Julia or come back. I said fine, can you at least give me a blank medical release form so I can have the surgeon resend it and she told me they already have the one from my daughters surgeon! The form that Julia so rudely told me they needed before any work was done, they already had. The receptionist continued to be rude and I told her I didn't appreciate how they don't follow through with anything and don't know what's going on with their patients. She told me I could take my business elsewhere! I was so pissed, I left & said I will do just that. Then the next day I get a voicemail from Julia stating that she was informed I got very upset the day before when I went into the office to schedule an appointment for the procedure and I was told I couldn't schedule it because as she informed me last week, my daughter needed a CT scan done AND the medical clearance turned in before anything could be done and that she didn't appreciate me getting upset with her staff! Holy Moly, I wish I was making this up! I was very mad at this point, called her back. She wouldn't even let me talk, told me I needed to pay out of pocket for the CT scan that it wasn't up to them to make sure things are covered by insurance, then she told me they didn't need my business and hung up! After going through all this, of course I then start looking them up and now I wish I had read the yelp reviews before ever going there. My daughter's orthodontist had just given me a list of oral surgeon's who take my insurance and Millenium had the earliest appointment. Next time I will read reviews first! read more

My experience here was horrid. I was directed to this dentist through my insurance and it was nothing but a waste of time. All the equipment looked ancient and worn out. They kept all their supplies in cheap Rubbermaid looking drawers and were coming in and out of the room to get supplies for other people. I felt like I was in a storage locker. Not a very comforting atmosphere. All of that would have been easily forgiven had I not had such a crappy experience in addition to that. I needed a wisdom tooth pulled badly and they simply couldn't do extractions except one day a week. When I called to schedule an appointment, the soonest date was over a month away. I called another (much better) dentist that was able to get me in the very next day. When I tried to get my XRays so I could go elsewhere (and not pay twice for Xrays I got a few days prior) I got the runaround. They told me to come by at 3PM and I was greeted by a locked door. I called again after just talking to someone and they said I'd have to come back in 4 days when I'd already spoke with someone not 20 minutes before on the phone. Cost me an extra $40! Most dentists go digital now and are able to transfer easily. Not this place. My guess is they didn't want to give up their antique XRays slides to me in hopes they would be used in some dental museum someday. It took all my strength not to toss a brick through the window. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! RUDE and they do not care at all! Called for 3 weeks now to see if they received the docs they needed and each time they said no. I would call my dr and they would say they never received anything. Each time I call the dentist they put me on hold for like 5 minutes and then transfer the call and put me on another 5 minutes. Told the lady I keep getting on hold for 5 min and she said 'can't force them to answer the call, I can just transfer it to them.' Called dentist to have them re fax their request each time and they said okay. Found out they only requested it once. The lady started to yell at me telling me I need to 'walk down to your dr office and have them sign the form, and then walk the paper back to us' not only that she would not let me speak to explain that all I was trying to say was that the FIRST time I called they should be telling me that they are not going to fax anymore. I work in retail and this the first time I received this type of attitude/behavior even from a customer! These workers are on another level and VERY Unprofessional!! read more

My advice ... DON'T EVER CONSIDER GOING TO MILLENIUM DENTAL. Fortunately I dodged a bullet because they sent me paperwork prior to the appointment. When I questioned the paperwork - signing my life away - I was told "There are other places in Bakersfield you can go." Say WHAT? I said, "So you don't even want to work with me on this." Their response was I could go somewhere else. I said I just might (MIGHT) do that. I called my insurance and asked for a different referral. When I called back 10 minutes later to cancel my appointment, they had already canceled without telling me. Wow! Then they hung up on my mid-sentence. RUN- DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!!!!! 2/28/16 I had a similar experience- the ADA and insurance company need to know about this. Millenium Dental lost my referral paper work to have three teeth removed. 1- top right, 1- bottom left and 1- bottom right wisdom tooth. It was determined at the first appointment I could not have the wisdom tooth removed because it's too close to the nerve. That leaves top right and bottom left teeth. Needed a consent from my radioncologist - faxed that 2 times. Finally get the appointment and the have me take 4 antibiotics one hour before scheduled time of appointment. Day of appointment they find they lost the consent from radioncologist and call receptionist to see if she actually received that approval. Surgeon asks about my heart and joints - They're fine, why? Those antibiotics were because of any heart and artificial joints I have - No, not me I'm fine- except I just took 4 antibiotics at one time. I start getting nitrous and the numbing shots. Why am I getting a good shot on the bottom right? Because we're removing that wisdom tooth - NOOOOO! Well luckily I still have my wisdom tooth and just the top right was removed. They have no record of the bottom left tooth being recommended for removal - even though only half of it remains to this day. Anyway, I get home and my son goes to get the prescription for the recommended antibiotics and pain pills - Norcos (these were also recommended by my radioncologist). Pharmacy could not fill the Norcos - the doctor's license expired June or July of 2015. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! They need to be shut down. read more
